Chapter 39: Liam
Liam
As the morning sun shone brightly through the window, I knew today was the day I'd make a change, a change for the better for Isabelle. She deserved so much more than the life she had been forced into. It was time to show her that there was more to life than the darkness she had known. I had a plan, and I was determined to execute it perfectly. I helped Isabelle get ready for the day, taking extra care to make her feel special. We were going on a little adventure, somewhere that would show her the beauty of the world and perhaps give her a glimpse of a different life. A life where she was free to choose her own path, surrounded by love and warmth. As we stepped out into the crisp morning air, I could see the hesitation in her eyes, but I also saw the hint of a question, a question that burned in both our souls. Would today be the day that changed everything? We walked hand in hand through the gardens, breathing in the fresh scent of blooming flowers, and I couldn't help but feel a sense of hope. I had to believe that today was the beginning of a new chapter, not just for Isabelle but for both of us. As we approached the lake that we had been at the other day, the sun glistening on its surface, I turned to her with a gentle smile.
"This is where I want to show you how precious you are, my treasure." She met my eyes, and in that moment, the world around us seemed to fade away, leaving only the two of us.
" I want to show you something." I stood beside Isabelle, gazing into the serene waters of the lake, watching her reflection dance on the surface. The sun shone brightly, casting a warm glow on her features, and I could see a hint of wonder in her eyes. I wanted to show her to help her see what I do.
"Do you see that person staring back at you?" I asked, taking her hand and bringing it to my lips. "That's you, Isabelle. My strong, beautiful treasure. You are not defined by your past or the cruel hands that life has dealt you. Today, we start anew. We'll leave the darkness behind and embrace the light together."
I watched as a smile, a true smile, broke across her face, and the void in her eyes began to fade. She squeezed my hand, and in that moment, I knew that today would be a turning point, a day of reckoning, where we would face the shadows of our pasts and emerge victorious. There was a glimmer of hope in her gaze, a spark that promised a future filled with possibilities. I couldn't wait to explore this new world with her by my side.
As I stood behind her, I couldn't help but feel a surge of exhilaration. I could have easily shown her the beauty of this place through a mere reflection in a mirror, but I wanted her to experience it firsthand. She had been trapped in a cage for most of her life, robbed of the simple pleasure of basking in the sunlight and admiring the vibrant colors of a garden. And with her love for the outdoors and keen eye for beauty, I knew taking her out here would have a much greater impact. As we stood in silence, surrounded by the lush greenery and delicate blooms, I couldn't help but admire her. She was a complex and intriguing creature. And yet, she had been held captive by a man who didn't value her true worth. But not anymore. Not under my watch.
Finally, breaking the silence, I asked "Are you ready to get something to eat?"
"Yes please." She respond happily.
Little does she know, we were headed to the next town, where we will dine in style. I didn't want her to feel the need to change or doll up for me. She was already perfect, just the way she was. And I would make sure she knew that. But I couldn't ignore the fact that her soon-to-be ex-husband was out there, lurking, waiting for an opportunity to snatch her back. He still believed she was my prisoner, and I couldn't risk him finding her in public. So I made sure to bring enough men to safeguard her, to protect her from any harm. Because she was no longer a captive. She is a free woman, and I would do everything in my power to keep her that way.
As we made our way back to the house, I guided her towards the garage. She gave me a curious glance, but I reassured her.
"Its okay. Trust me, even thought I know its hard with everything you have been through."
She hesitated, but eventually got into the car. As we drove out of the garage, she noticed the cars following us. I could see her trying to control her nerves, so I reached over and intertwined our fingers. "Don't worry, my stor," I whispered, "those are my trusted men. They're here to ensure our safety."
the car ride is just under an hour and like most and like most of my time with Isabelle we are in comfortable silence. The sun was shining high in the sky as I drove along the scenic route, marveling at the breathtaking sights. My eyes were treated to a stunning display of nature's beauty, from lush green forests to rolling hills. As I continued on my drive, I couldn't help but feel grateful for this peaceful moment. The winding roads and picturesque views were a much-needed escape from the chaos of daily life. Chaos that we will soon be in up to out chests.. As we drive the my eyes are constantly drawn to her, the epitome of beauty and grace. Her presence alone illuminates my life, watching her enjoy a simple pleasure of a car ride out here is magical and if find a new appreciation for the simple things. With each passing moment, I am filled with a sense of awe and wonder at the sight of her, unable to tear my gaze away. This journey through the countryside is made all the more enchanting by her presence, a true marvel to behold.
Fuck. I wonder if this is how Declan felt when he found Cara. I've turned into a complete marshmallow, melting and squishy with emotions. Thinking of my brother and sister-in-law causes my heart to drip with longing and sadness. I highly doubt that Alessandro is treating her the way I am treating Isabelle. But I can't help it. Ever since she came into my life, everything has changed. After today, though, there is no telling when I will have time with her like this again. The uncertainty of war looms over us, casting a dark shadow on our future. Every time I look at her, I can't help but want to show her everything I feel. I want to make her see how much she means to me, even though I know it's a risk. I know I could end up getting hurt, but I can't resist her. What i do know that of any thing ever happen to me she would be taken care of. That offers me some solace. She will never have to go back to that life, I'll make sure he never gets here I'll take him down with me if its my time to go.
