Chapter 116
Chapter 116
The tattooed man took two steps forward and looked Frank up and down as he sat in the chair.
He squinted and said, "Kid, you've got some nerve. We're all here, and you're still just sitting there!"
Frank's expression didn't change. He glanced at the people behind the tattooed man and stated a fact: "You didn't bring enough people."
The tattooed man smiled, showing a row of yellowed teeth stained by cigarettes, and said, "That's because his guys were useless. My guys are different - they can beat you down easily!"
The men behind him tensed up for a moment when they heard this.
Frank stood up, rolled his neck, and said, "So you're going up against the Starship Group?"
As soon as he said that, one of the men behind the tattooed man said quietly, "Are we really going to do this?"
The tattooed man slapped him across the face. Watching his face turn to the side, he mocked, "This guy is obviously just some low-level employee at the Starship Group. Even if he dies here today, it won't cause any real trouble. What are you afraid of?"
Frank didn't say anything. He just took out the Starship Group black card and placed it on the small table nearby.
"I'm giving you a choice. Sit down and talk with me properly, or die by my hand."
The tattooed man saw the black card and sneered, "What's the point of showing me that card? Don't tell me there's a lot of money in there and you're planning to buy us off?"
Frank was caught off guard by this response. He hadn't expected these people to be so clueless that they didn't even know what this card represented.
A thought suddenly flashed through his mind, and he quickly grabbed onto it.
He narrowed his eyes at the tattooed man and demanded, "What exactly do you want with this factory site?"
If they were just regular thugs, they would have happily agreed when they heard about money. But instead, they acted dismissive!
This was way too unusual!
The tattooed man's body stiffened. He asked, "Why should I tell you?"
"Enough talk. You guys, get him! If you can beat him down, there's a big reward. If you kill him, the reward's even bigger!"
As soon as he said this, almost all the thugs' eyes lit up. The man who had seen Frank fight before quietly backed away in the chaos.
One man pulled out a knife and stabbed at Frank, the blade aimed straight at his heart.
Frank squinted. He grabbed the man's wrist holding the knife and twisted it outward. As a scream rang out, the knife slipped from the man's hand.
He caught the knife and without hesitation slashed the man's throat.
The man's eyes went wide. He reached up to cover his throat, blood seeping through his fingers. Before long, he collapsed on the ground, lifeless.
The tattooed man hadn't expected Frank to move so smoothly. His expression changed, and he glared at the man hiding to the side.
"Why didn't you tell me he was this good before we came?"
The man smiled bitterly and replied, "Boss, I did tell you, but didn't you think I was exaggerating?"
The tattooed man took a deep breath. He never expected the man had been telling the truth this time.
He looked at Frank and his remaining guys who didn't dare move forward, and cursed under his breath.
"Alright, stop embarrassing yourselves here. Everyone back off!"
After the tattooed man spoke, his men slowly backed away.
Frank raised an eyebrow and said, "So being flexible is a tradition in your gang."
After he said this, the tattooed man's face darkened, but he didn't dare talk back. He just smiled awkwardly.
Frank sat back down in the chair and said, "Now can we have a proper talk?"
"Talk!" The tattooed man nodded eagerly. "Whatever you want to talk about, just say it. I'll tell you everything I know!"
Seeing the tattooed man being so flattering, Frank snorted coldly, "What's really in this old factory site?"
The tattooed man shook his head with a confused look, "We don't know. We're just doing a job for money. He just told us to sabotage the deal, didn't say why."
"There were a few other groups interested in this land before, and we scared them all off. It never got to the contract stage, so we never showed up, and that old man didn't know about us."
The tattooed man finished explaining in just a few words. Frank squinted, about to ask who hired these people.
The tattooed man saw what he wanted to ask and said, "We don't know who they really are either. We contacted them online. As long as they send us the money, it doesn't matter if we meet or not."
Hearing this, Frank lightly tapped his knee with his fingers. Who was so obsessed with this piece of land?
Looking at the tattooed man, what he just said didn't seem like a lie, and there probably wasn't much more to get out of him, so Frank didn't want to waste any more time.
"I'd advise you to return the money. You can't finish this job." A trace of disgust flashed in Frank's eyes.
The tattooed man shook his head, "There's no reason to return money once we've got it. Besides, we did the work - if it didn't work out, that's not our fault!"
"We won't bother you anymore. We'll head back now. We definitely won't send anyone to mess with this land again!"
The tattooed man's bowing and scraping made even Frank feel surprised.
He wanted to ask how they became the biggest gang around acting like this.
But Frank thought about it and realized that maybe it was exactly this flexible attitude that kept these people alive longer.
After watching them leave, he spent another ten minutes convincing the old man to leave with him and stay at a place he arranged for a few days.
The old man was finally persuaded and left with him.
He didn't take the old man back to headquarters, but sent him to another safe house instead.
After agreeing on a time to sign the contract, Frank drove away from there.
He was still on his way back when he got a call from Noah.
"Boss, we have to respond now. There are already many people boycotting our group, and some have gone to the building where our branch is located to protest with banners!"
Frank understood what Noah meant. If they didn't respond directly, it would cause irreparable damage to the group.
A public image is easy to destroy but very difficult to rebuild.
"Okay, how are your preparations going?"
Frank sat in the back seat, looking at the screen in mid-air, frowning slightly.
"Following your instructions, we've found three key audio recordings. Ms. Beck found these recordings."
Noah paused, then continued, "One of these three recordings mentions the Sarris family's involvement in the orphanage experiments. Should we release all three recordings?"
Frank nodded. This incident must be related to the Sarris family.
Since they wanted to ruin his reputation, he naturally had to let them taste what it's like to be hit by their own attack.
He wondered what their expressions would be like when the boomerang hit them?
A flash of satisfaction crossed Frank's eyes as he ended the call.
Ten minutes later, Noah sent a message: [Boss, it's blown up on the trending topics.]
