Chapter 115

Chapter 115

Frank narrowed his eyes, a hint of ruthlessness appearing in them.

"You've got some nerve," his gaze was cold as ice. "Everyone who's ever pointed a gun at me is already in hell."

The man ran his fingers through his hair and burst out laughing, as if he'd heard a joke. "You're pretty funny, you know that? You should do stand-up comedy—you might actually make some people laugh."

Impatience flickered in Frank's eyes. He was about to say something when the old man beside him stopped him.

The old man said in a low voice, "He's the leader of the biggest gang around here. You're just a businessman—you can't win against them. Just leave! Go find somewhere else to build your welfare home!"

Then the old man turned to the man with a flattering smile. "Please don't be angry. Why dirty your hands? I'll get him out of here right away!"

The man laughed loudly, pointing his gun at the old man. "You're not even as smart as this old guy. Learn from him—don't be so stubborn all the time!"

Frank calmly rolled up his sleeves, looking at the man. "What if I don't leave?"

His gaze swept over the man's Adam's apple, wrists, knees...

He was calculating in his mind where to strike first to take this man down as quickly as possible.

Hearing this, the old man immediately panicked, his breathing quickening. He lowered his voice, "Are you crazy? How could you possibly beat him?"

Frank smiled. "How will I know if I don't try?"

"Now's not the time to act tough. Listen to me—get out of here. I'll hold him off. He won't do anything to me!"

Sweat was already beading on the old man's forehead. He didn't want to see a good person die in front of him!

"If you ask me, you really should learn from this old man, learn how to be a coward. At least cowards don't get themselves killed!" The man's eyes were full of contempt.

He snapped his fingers, and soon, more than a dozen thugs in black clothes rushed out.

The thugs surrounded Frank, each one gripping a thick steel pipe.

"If you leave now, you might still keep your life." The man crossed his arms, veins bulging.

Frank chuckled. "Instead of wasting time trying to convince me, why don't you think about where you want your graves?"

As soon as he finished speaking, the man's face turned extremely ugly, glaring viciously at Frank.

"You really have a death wish!" the man shouted. "What are you all standing around for? Get him!"

As soon as he finished speaking, the dozen or so thugs rushed at Frank.

The old man's face changed instantly, shouting for Frank to dodge, but Frank didn't move an inch.

When the first person's pipe came down, Frank raised his left hand, grabbed the pipe, and with his other hand clenched in a fist, struck at the man's throat.

The first person fell straight down.

In less than ten seconds, the last thug was also on the ground.

The man who had just been yelling that Frank had a death wish now wore a flattering smile.

"Sir, this is a misunderstanding! Everything today was a misunderstanding. We'll leave right now and definitely won't bother you!"

The man knew his own abilities. Frank had taken down all the dozen or so men he'd brought in less than ten seconds.

Even if he joined in, it wouldn't help. Better to go back and get reinforcements!

A flash of malice crossed the man's eyes, but he kept his head down, so Frank didn't catch his expression.

Hearing the man's plea, Frank raised his eyebrows in surprise. He hadn't expected the man to be so flexible.

The people he'd encountered before would mock him even at death's door. This man had some cunning, at least.

However, he wouldn't easily let any enemy go.

"A misunderstanding?" Frank pulled out a military knife, his fingers lightly stroking the handle.

"What kind of misunderstanding made you go through all this trouble to come here and block me?"

Hearing this, the man's eyes flickered, unsure what to say.

Frank didn't expect an answer from him anyway. He pointed the knife at the thugs lying on the ground. "I'll give you two minutes. Take your people and get lost."

"Yes, yes, we'll get lost right away!" The man said, then went around kicking the thugs lying on the ground.

Before long, only the old man and Frank remained near the shop.

The old man looked at Frank with disappointment. "You shouldn't have let them go. You're letting the tiger return to the mountain! He'll definitely bring reinforcements! Maybe even their boss will come!"

Frank smiled. "I know. I want to meet their boss and have a good talk with him."

His tone was calm, as if the prospect of more people coming for revenge was just a small matter he could handle easily.

Seeing how confident he was, and remembering what he'd just done, the old man gradually relaxed.

"Sir, now can you feel comfortable signing the contract?" Frank paused. "I know you were afraid they'd hurt me, so you said things you didn't mean."

The old man couldn't help but shake his head and laugh. "You really are smart."

He changed his tone. "Even though you handled what just happened, that gang is still a threat. Until this threat is dealt with, I can't drag you into this mess."

He sighed and spent ten minutes explaining the whole situation to Frank.

Frank frowned slightly. He turned to look at the welfare home site again. It looked very run-down, with nothing valuable. Why was that gang so interested in this factory area?

He'd originally thought this had something to do with him, but now it seemed it wasn't that simple.

But he said nothing. Once the contract was signed, he could naturally investigate this factory area. At that point, whatever secrets it held would be revealed.

"Go rest. Don't worry, with me here, they won't get into the house."

Frank's calm expression completely reassured the old man. He nodded and went back into the shabby shop.

Frank watched him pull down the rolling door, then sat on the rickety chair in front of the shop, waiting quietly.

Half an hour later, chaotic footsteps came from the distance. Accompanied by a cloud of dust, dozens of people appeared before Frank.

A man with a tattoo on his left arm walked over, followed by the man who had just left.

"Kid, you're still here? You really don't fear death. Let me tell you, you can't act tough now—my boss is here!"

Frank lifted his head, his gaze falling on the man's face. He sneered. "Didn't expect you to come back so fast. Good—didn't waste too much of my time."

"You!" The man gritted his teeth. "Boss! He's the one who wants to buy this land!"
