Chapter 9
CAELON
“Stop!” I smirked as I buried my face upon her chest. Aila writhed under me, her chest heaving while she breathes harshly, “Please stop, Caelon.”
I smiled, pulling away from her to gaze at her almost naked body. We arrived in Japan an hour ago and after exploring the small town of Magome, I decided to bring her to my cabin up the mountain trail of Nakosendo. The historical place was perfect for her to adjust, away from the advances of technology that she faced in Paris. This is the perfect town for us to spend our honeymoon.
Aila held out a finger to touch my cheek and I leaned closer, rejoicing at her touch, “Aila, I am just letting you take a break. But after that, there is more.”
“Why can’t we just explore the town like we did earlier, Caelon? It is still bright outside.” I leaned down and brush my nose on her cheeks, letting her vanilla scent intoxicate me. The feeling of remorse captured me but my chest tightened with excitement. I growled, gritting my teeth as I captured her lips in a passionate kiss. Aila whimpered, pulling away, “Is this how we spend a honey moon? What exactly are you planning to do with me, Caelon?”
“You are my wife—”
“I know that! But I am not stupid to let you use me to how you want to. I cannot just succumb to anything that you do without explaining to me.” She pushed me back and covered her body with the blanket that cover the floor. “I am married to you. You are my husband. I agree to this marriage because I can feel something towards you. I didn’t ask you if you feel the same way, and I won’t insist that you should. I just want you to respect me at least. Can’t you be more gentle?”
Her words surprised me and it left me in turmoil. I suddenly felt embarrassed of my actions that I got to my feet and left her, heading outside. The light spring rain awakened the insects and the gentle whistle of the wind calmed me down.
Aila was right. Why did I react that way?
I ran my hands through my hair and sigh. I lost all my control when I am with her. I want to consume her, to mark her as mine the moment I have sealed the marriage contract with her. I want her to worship me, to follow anything that I ordered her to do because that is the only way that I know. That is my only option to keep her under control and stop her from following Hades and killing me.
The feeling of soft finger against my warm skin made me shiver and I turn to see Aila, her face bashful. She looks so beautiful in the twilight, her red hair glowing in the sparse light. I didn’t realize how late it has become since I left her inside. She must have been worried which is why she followed me outside.
I gave her a shrug before leaning down to kiss her lips but she turns, “Caelon, why did you marry me?”
I sigh, “I need your help and you need mine. You have to locate your parents and I can do that with Emyr’s wind. In return, I need you to not kill me, and the only way to stop you from doing that is to marry me.”
“But I won’t kill you. Whether you marry me or not, cupids are not bound to hurt anyone.”
“No. You might not be aware but there is a prophecy about you coming to end my life. I married you to stop what has to happened. I should overrule the prophecy somehow by taking you as my wife.” I tucked her hair behind her ear and she sighs. I pulled her chin and she looks at me with sorrowful eyes. “I know it might have hurt you to know that I do not love you and I won’t ever feel that way because of what I am, but shouldn’t you be thankful that I chose this way instead of getting rid of you? I already laid out a plan and after we spend our honeymoon, you can proceed with your mission while I search for you parents.”
“But why the honeymoon if your feelings are not sincere? And why are you such in a hurry to marry me?”
“Because Hades knows your face and he won’t hesitate to manipulate you in whatever way he can.” I pulled her closer and she rested her head on my chest. The feeling is peculiar yet my body felt like it’s been doing it for hundreds of years. “The honeymoon is for our scent to intermingle with each other and the stronger our bond develops, the harder it will be for Hades to manipulate you.”
“You mean—” she turns to me and I nodded, making her blush a deep red. I caressed her cheeks and smiled, “Don’t worry, I promise to be gentle to you.”
And I did.
Aila was hesitant at first when I brought her back inside and laid her to the futon mattress we have vacated before. Her scent intoxicated me once more and I have to calm my breathing, slowly stripping her off her clothes and laying small kisses upon her body.
She sighs every time I touch her, and I relish upon the feeling of her small fingers gliding up and down my chest. She is so beautiful that I find it hard to not marvel at her. She touched my face just as I continuously kiss her stomach, my lips lingering upon her navel.
“Must we do it?” She ask me , “I’m nervous.” I kissed her lips and answered her question by taking her completely, rejoicing at the sound of her sighs after she got used to the feeling.
I have not expected my chest to tighten in every move and for my hand to tremble in every touch that I give her. It was as extraordinary to her as it is to me and I felt proud of my decision of making her my wife.
Aila sighs as she laid spent next to me. It is hard to go as gentle as I could when I am used to doing it harshly with anyone, playing with their bodies as I do with their hearts. It was mesmerizing that Aila can accept whatever I can give her and match my strength and passion. She was devoted to me and I marvel at her, amazed that she is performing well.
There will be no problem with our plan if she will continue to be like this, to be as submissive as I asked her to.
I kissed her shoulders and Aila snuggled closer, laying her head upon my arm, “I did not expect that it will feel amazing to be next to you, Caelon.” She propped herself on her elbows and gaze at me, her red hair falling to her chest, covering her exposed breast from me. I cleared my throat. “Did you know that I have never been so scared to anyone but you?”
“I get that a lot,” I nodded at her and pulled her closer, kissing the top of her forehead. The action surprised me and so was she. Why am I being so affectionate to this foul creature? No, this is just for an act.
I have to do this to make her believe my lie. I have to manipulate her so she will do whatever I want her to do.
That’s right.
Aila smiled at me and my heart twitched before it thudded forcefully in my chest. I won’t doubt it if the action will develop into some bruise considering how hard my heart is beating. I sigh, adjusting her so that we are propping ourselves against the wall, “I have something to tell you.”
“What is it?”
“I will lay out certain rules in our relationship since it is premeditated by the prophecy, and is not true love. First, we are obliged to perform our duty as wife and husband to each other. I will provide for you. I will give you the protection and guidance that you need and in return, you have to satisfy me.”
“Satisfy you?” Aila whispered and I smirk, lowering my lips down to her exposed neck, “Yes.” I kissed her neck then make my way to her cheek, “Whenever, and wherever possible.”
