Chapter 62 Culprit - Cassandra

Chapter 62 Culprit - Cassandra

Adrian's POV.

Maybe all I needed at the moment was Evelyn. She embraced me and I felt safe. For a moment, all the disturbing thoughts in my head found their way out.

She hugged me for minutes and when she broke the hug, our eyes met. She blinked, averting her face immediately.

“I'll be upstairs,” the way she said the word shows how nervous she was.

I didn't say a word. I watched her stand up and walk up the stairs.

Suddenly, I feel energized. Suddenly, the media bothered me no more.

“Be strong. You've got this.” Her voice rang in my head and I affirmed to myself that she's right.

I picked my phone and called David. His voice came first like he had been expecting my call.

“What do we do, boss?” He asked. “Just say the word and we will get it done.”

I straightened my back, one of my hands going into my pocket.

“Find who revealed that to the public,” I said. “I want the person brought to me before the evening ends.”

“Three hours maximum is all you have, David,” I added.

“Understood boss.”

The call ended and patiently, I waited while sitting in the dining room.

Three hours elapsed and that was when David's call came in.

“I found her!” He said. “It's someone we know.”

I expected that much. When he said it, my face didn't change and I didn't look curious or panicked.

“The same warehouse?” I asked David who nodded positively. “I'll be there soon.”

The drive to the Warehouse took only a few minutes as I accelerated to the highest speed while driving.

The warehouse door was opened and there were two guards outside, bowing politely when I emerged.

I walked inside, the smell of dust and wood filling my nose as I walked through the hallway, heading to one of the rooms where I can hear movements.

Inside the room, David stood with another guard while there was a girl on the floor, her hands shivering and her body trembling.

I looked at the girl, short of words. This bitch was born to be a goddamn snitch.

It was Dera. The girl that used to work for Cassandra, the one I dismissed from my house for sending information about me to her.

It was crystal clear who would have made her do it but I still needed to ask.

I crouched down in front of her, swallowing back my anger before deciding to talk.

“Look, Dera,” I started. My voice was laced with anger though it barely showed. “I don't have time to waste, I only need you to tell me who put you up to this."

She gulped hard, crawling back away from me.

“No one did,” she said. “I only wanted to revenge for myself.”

I scoffed. How on earth does she expect me to believe that?

I stood up, my hands tucked in my pocket. I looked at David, signalling to him and he got the signal.

One of the guards held the girl on the floor, David stretching her wrists well on the floor even though she resisted.

“Leave me alone! What are you doing?” She asked. Her voice was in a panic, her yells getting nowhere outside of this building.

No one was going to hear her, no one was going to come for her rescue.

I placed my foot on top of her hands then looked at her. She was now calm and silent, her breath in ragged gasps.

“It would take me only a moment to crush all your fingers. No one would question me, no one will ask me why I did what I did.”

“I'd make sure no one hears your voice even if you try to raise it,” I continued.

“I'm not making empty threats here, I'll make sure you regret ever going against me,” I added.

“Even if I tell you….. you won't let me go,” she croaked, tears falling from her eyes.

I smirked loudly. “It's your choice to trust me.”

“I won't beg you to talk, what I do to you will determine whether you talk or not.” I raised my foot lower and she gasped again in fear.

The shoe my legs were in were enough to crush some fingers from her hand. I don't beg and I won't start now.

Dera took in a deep breath before exhaling sharply.

“It's lady Cassandra,” She said, “I don't know about other things but there was someone behind her.”

My jaws clenched. I knew it was her, but the confirmation was necessary.

“Continue holding her captive,” I instructed David. “I will decide what to do with her when I'm back.”

I stormed out of the warehouse, getting back into the car. I didn't know where I would find Cassandra but I kept driving first.

I knew where her apartment was so I decided to check there first.

I knocked fiercely on her door but no response came. The second time, the third time, no response came.

I knocked louder, pouring all the anger inside of me into the way I knocked.

Finally I heard footsteps from inside the house. The door opened and it revealed Cassandra with a selfie stand in hand, her phone capturing a video.

Cassandra is an influencer and at the moment was on live stream with her fans. She was still in her night robe when it was late in the evening.

I pushed her aside and walked into the house. Her eyes and mouth widened, and she dropped her camera facing down to speak to me.

The camera captured my face but at the moment, I gave no damn.

“What the hell are you doing?” She gritted to me in a whisper. “I'm on fucking live right now, Adrian. Leave!”

I didn't respond to her and only walked to where she had dropped her phone. I picked it up, facing the camera to me. Once again, half of my face showed on the camera before I decided to end the live show.

I turned back to her and she was looking at me with disbelief etched on her face.

“Now that the live has ended, will you talk to me now?” I stormed towards her, pinning her to the wall.
