Chapter 214 Irresistible Charm
Chapter 214 Irresistible Charm
"Hey—"
"Put me down first."
Eleanor was suddenly lifted off the ground. Her heart lurched, and the moment her feet left the floor, she instinctively grabbed onto him, wrapping her arms around his neck.
Terrence held her even tighter, his hot breath falling by her ear, his voice low, "No, Eleanor, I want to hear your answer right now."
"I said I need to think about it." Eleanor's lips pursed slightly, her eyes carrying a hint of shyness as she looked up and glared at him.
That glare had zero intimidating effect.
Her eyes were bright and glistening. When she looked at him like that, her whole being carried an alluring quality, like some kind of temptation that made it impossible to look away.
Terrence's Adam's apple bobbed slightly, his blue eyes gradually darkening.
The atmosphere between them began to turn intimate.
Meeting Terrence's intense gaze that seemed ready to devour her, Eleanor's heart skipped a beat. She raised her hand to cover his eyes, trying hard to stay calm, and said through gritted teeth, "Don't look at me like that."
Those eyes of his were too damn seductive.
When she thought about their previous kisses, those long kisses and tangled breaths, playing back in her mind like scenes from a movie, her throat immediately went dry.
She couldn't help swallowing.
The sound of her swallowing was quite obvious in the quiet space.
Terrence heard it clearly. His eyelashes trembled slightly against her palm, the corners of his mouth unconsciously lifting, his voice hoarse, "Eleanor, you're thinking about it too, just like me, aren't you?"
For a moment, Eleanor couldn't decide whether she should first cover his too-tempting eyes or his mouth that always said improper things.
"Why aren't you answering?" His voice sounded right by her ear, "Is my question that hard for you to say out loud?"
"Good that you know." Eleanor, both embarrassed and annoyed, replied through gritted teeth, "Put me down first."
Being held up in the air like this, she couldn't relax.
"Okay, I'll listen to you."
Terrence didn't continue teasing her. He smoothly set her down.
Feeling her feet on solid ground, Eleanor finally felt truly relieved.
With his vision blocked by her hand, Terrence became even more sensitive to his other senses. Feeling the warmth from her palm, his large hand moved to cover the back of hers, unwilling to let go.
"...Eleanor..."
He called her name over and over, his voice lingering and low.
Eleanor's heartbeat was as rapid as drumbeats. His tone made her heart race. Terrence was too good at this.
His solid chest, defined abs, and that sexy V-line disappearing below his waistband...
If she weren't on her period right now, she would have pounced on him without hesitation, claiming him bit by bit.
"Stop calling my name."
Eleanor quickly used her other hand to cover his mouth.
But she still underestimated him.
The next second, her palm felt hot.
He suddenly licked her palm.
That lick was wet and hot.
"Ah—" Eleanor instinctively cried out, quickly pulling her hand back. Her face instantly flushed red as she looked up and glared at him fiercely, "You—you—"
"What's wrong, Eleanor?" Terrence's usually restrained and aloof handsome face now carried a hint of innocence.
This expression directly deflated most of Eleanor's momentum.
"Nothing!"
Eleanor practically squeezed those words out. She reached out to push him away and turned to quickly walk upstairs.
Terrence followed behind her, his footsteps close to hers, his tone carrying laughter as he directly admitted his mistake, "Eleanor, I was wrong. I won't randomly lick your palm anymore. Or, next time I'll only do it after you give me permission, okay?"
Terrence spoke without any reservation, every word reaching her ears clearly.
Eleanor's face grew even redder, as if the temperature of her cheeks was still rising. Her steps up the stairs quickened.
Terrence watched her retreating figure, as if she were fleeing in panic, amusement coloring his eyes. He quickly followed, but never actually reached out to stop her.
Until she reached her bedroom door, just as she was about to close it, he reached out and blocked the door.
Through the gap in the door, Eleanor looked up and glared at him, "What are you doing?"
"I haven't finished talking."
Terrence's eyes curved up, his smile obvious.
He was already extremely good-looking, and the smile that suddenly bloomed on his face at this moment made him seem to jump from a cold black-and-white photograph to vivid color, so handsome that she could barely look away.
Even though she had faced this face more than once, Eleanor still froze in that instant.
Terrence seized her brief moment of distraction and directly slipped sideways into her room.
The room carried her scent. A faint fragrance permeated the air, and her presence was amplified in this moment, deeply stirring his senses.
By the time Eleanor came back to her senses, she was already pressed against the door by him.
She gritted her teeth and said, "So the mighty head of the Thornton Group is really trying to seduce me with his looks?"
"As long as it works on you, I don't mind." Terrence laughed softly.
He wasn't annoyed at all by her accusatory words. Instead, seeing her flustered by his appearance made him feel pleased.
"Eleanor, I really did say the wrong thing just now. I need to properly make it up to you."
As soon as he finished speaking, Terrence lowered his head and kissed her lips.
This kiss was extremely gentle. He treated her like his most treasured possession, patiently and carefully kissing every inch, gently tracing the outline of her lips.
Eleanor had wanted to use words to shut him down.
She wanted to ask whether he was here to make amends or waiting for her to reward him.
But Terrence's kiss was too gentle. She was quickly pulled into this kiss by his rhythm, completely drawn in.
Their lips and tongues intertwined, the sounds of kissing faintly echoing between them.
After a few minutes, the kiss finally ended, both of them breathing unevenly.
Terrence's gaze was as deep as the night outside the window. His fingertip gently caressed her now somewhat swollen lips, his voice low and hoarse, "Eleanor, are you satisfied with my apology just now?"
"Not satisfied."
Eleanor's breathing hadn't completely steadied yet, but her words remained stubborn.
Terrence's expression paused for a moment, the color in his eyes growing darker. He brought his lips almost to her earlobe, lowering his voice, "Then shall we do it again?"
Hearing this, Eleanor's heart lurched.
Those few minutes of deep kissing had already made her legs weak. She was very aware that her body had already shown obvious reactions...
She was still on her period. At a time like this, such intense kissing really wasn't appropriate.
She really couldn't handle it anymore.
"No, no need." Eleanor hastily raised her hand to stop him.
But Terrence clearly didn't want to let her off easily. He looked at her, his gaze carrying a deliberately exaggerated sense of hurt, "But didn't Eleanor say she wasn't satisfied with my kiss just now? Since you're not satisfied, let's try again."
"I'm very satisfied!"
Eleanor quickly added, truly afraid he would do it again, "I need to use the bathroom first."
After saying this, Eleanor pushed him away and hurriedly walked into the bathroom.
Terrence watched her finally hide in the bathroom, laughing cheerfully.
In the bathroom, hearing Terrence's relaxed laugh outside, Eleanor felt the temperature of her ears and cheeks rise another notch.
After a while, she heard footsteps stop outside the bathroom door.
"Eleanor, it's getting late. I'll head back to the guest room. Get some rest."
Hearing this, Eleanor felt a wave of relief. She quickly responded with an "okay."
During this time of the month, she felt they really should reduce unnecessary physical contact. She really couldn't handle this state of being able to look but not touch.
This feeling was too torturous.
Soon, Eleanor heard the sound of the bedroom door opening and closing. She simply took a hot shower, the stickiness and fatigue washing away bit by bit with the hot water.
Time quickly reached eleven-thirty at night.
Eleanor glanced at the time, knowing it was already late. She climbed into bed, closed her eyes, and quickly fell asleep.
She didn't know how long had passed.
A sudden urgent phone ringtone rang out.
Eleanor woke with a start from her sleep.
