"Good job for today," Ted said, smiling at Chase and a few trainees they had helped with fixing some song notes. Chase smiled and bowed at them before finally opening the door, excitedly his eyes searched for his adorable, sweet girlfriend.
Where is she? he asked inside his mind.
The weird feeling in his stomach, heart, and now even in his head, was back again. He blinked his eyes a few times to regain his control over his body. It was four o'clock, maybe I was just hungry, Chase told and tried to comfort himself.
His eyes frantically searched for his lover, regretting he didn't bring his phone today of all days. He then headed to the practice room where his crew was in the middle of a practice. His palms started to sweat without any reason, and it was weird because he hadn't felt this in a long while. Opening the door, he was then welcomed by people who were currently doing some warm-up movements for their dance rehearsal.
"Ah! Senior brother Chase!" one of them exclaimed excitedly. This weird calling of a junior calling his senior was indeed cute and respectful.
Chase smiled at them as he entered the room fully.
"Hey, guys. Um, did you see Isa—I mean, did you see a beautiful lady with dark circles around her eyes? She’s wearing a floral dress and—”
"Isabella? That's her name, right?" one of the boys asked with a very energetic voice and Chase didn't like the vibe he was getting at the moment.
"Yes, that's her. She's my girlfriend, where is she?" Chase uttered with much of a high tone he could use, emphasizing the word "girlfriend" so they'd know Isabella was off limits.
"She was just here a while ago," a girl with pigtails Chase assumed to be one of his best dancers said.
"Yeah, she was with Drake," another girl said while looking at the girl with pigtails. The girl nodded in agreement and turned to look at Chase back again.
Drake? Chase raised his eyebrow at the sudden mention of his favorite staff's name.
"Yeah, and there was a man who came too."
"Yeah, I heard him asking Isabella to talk, it seems a private one."
"And Isabella went out to talk with him. But I think they're not really in good terms seeing Isabella react like that."
"Yeah. I think she was kind of scared or something…"
"Right, I saw her hands were shaking too. Is everything okay, Chase?"
Chase's eyebrows met at the continuous conversation he was listening to. His chest started to pound louder as he started to head to the door and walked out of the room. How come Isabella hadn’t said anything to him again? Who was that man and why was she scared?
Chase couldn’t help but curse under his breath as he searched for his lover around the entire floor. He was half running half walking, head turning in different directions in search of his sweetheart. He stopped for a moment, bending his body, he put his hands on his knees and took deep breaths. He was about to go for another half run half walk when a familiar voice stopped his movements.
With a loud pounding chest, he slowly turned his head at the voice's origin, his eyes widened at the sight he had least expected to see.
