Chapter 84 Untitled chapter
Chapter 84 Untitled chapter
Mike picked me up when I was done as he had insisted. This party wasn't as our normal parties that we always have. When we got to Trish's beautiful and massive house, she told us we'll first have a formal dinner. Thank God I was wearing appropriate clothes. We took pictures as we waited for the dinner to start and were having snacks and chatting. I was sitting with Keith as we were chatting up a storm. I kept on looking at the door, hoping he would walk in but he wasn't. Mike told me he left him at home sleeping; at least Vusi is with him so I know he is safe and not bored alone. He is still suffering from his wounds, I shouldn't have shot him. Mike tells me his father made them worse by pressing onto them as punishment that was very harsh. Anyways, I should focus on this night and stop thinking about him.
Mike and Brenda kept on kissing and playing lovey-dovey. It was a cute sight to see, especially since Kendra was just happy and didn't seem to mind. There was no awkwardness, and you could tell that Kendra was really okay? If she's pretending then I applaud her, she would really be a very good actress.
"Where is the food? I'm hungry," Simi complained.
"Almost done!" Trish called out.
"My lady doesn't like being hungry, she can kill everyone just so she can get a plate of food," Leon joked.
"Glad you know that you should feed my girl, she needs to be fed," I told him.
"She must also serve some cake, It's compulsory," Nelson insisted.
"Preach!" Keith agreed.
"That's all you know," Faith teased.
We went to the dining table and sat down. I was in between Keith and Kendra. Across us were our lovely couples, and they looked cute. Kind of reminded me of myself and Kelvin. It was a feast; the smell was divine and so was the taste.
"This is lovely, me and baby K are enjoying it," I said.
"Baby K?" Simi asked.
"Baby Kelvin," I clarified.
"So cute, too bad my brother is just a jerk," Mike commented.
"He's going through a lot, he'll come around. As his brothers, we're here to play the father figure in baby K's life," Keith promised.
"We are all here for you, whatever you need and at any given time we'll be here," Leon affirmed.
"Faith tells me you guys are moving to Langelihle," Nelson said.
"What?" Mike exclaimed.
"Yes, Simi, Faith and I are moving there for about three months," I confirmed.
"When?" Mike asked.
"Monday," I replied.
"Why am I only finding out about this now?" Mike demanded.
"I forgot to tell you, babe. It's business related," Brenda quickly jumped in.
"Yes, we're opening TWD branch at Langelihle so we'll be there to head things up and work that side," I explained.
"You will come back on weekends, right, babe? I can't spend three months without seeing you," Simi's partner asked.
"We'll be back every weekend," Simi assured him.
"You will, not me. I'll be back after three months. I need a break from Durban, I need a breather," I stated firmly.
"Why do I feel like you're leaving forever?" Keith asked.
"That's not the plan but if it happens, it happens. If you miss me, Keith, you'll come and see me. Weekends, I will not be coming back," I insisted.
"You seem to have your mind made up," Trish observed.
"Yes I do," I confirmed.
We continued talking. Mike excused himself, saying he needed to make a call. He came back after a while. We had settled, and they were having wine while I was having non-alcoholic sparkling wine. It was boring, but hey, Baby K doesn't allow me to drink alcohol.
The music started playing, and it was party mode!
"I didn't have a reason for organizing this party but now I do. Congratulations to the ladies for securing a new project and farewell to the ladies who are leaving us headed to Langelihle. May you prosper and make us proud!" Trish announced.
"Cheers!!" we yelled.
The music was pumping, and we were all dancing and having a good time.
"I'm going to the bathroom," Loveness announced.
I nodded and continued dancing. How I wish I was intoxicated right now, the fun I'm having needs some alcohol in my system but anyways, I'll get used to my 9 months of alcohol-free life.
"Sis Shanty," Keith called out.
"Since when do you call me Sis Shanty?" I asked.
"I need a favour," Keith replied.
"Talk," I said.
"Can Alicia leave the shelter just for tonight? I'll go pick her up," Keith pleaded.
"Alicia? What business do you have with her? Keith, are you dating the little girl? Oh my word," I exclaimed.
"Please, please, I'm begging you," Keith begged.
"Don't hurt or sleep with her," Kendra warned.
"Come, let's go fetch her," I decided.
"Thank you!" He quickly grabbed his car keys.
I demanded that he tells me what is going on between them as we drove to the shelter. He told me they are close friends but he wants to be more than friends. Apparently he always visits her at the shelter, and they've went on a date once before. Kelvin knew about this and he didn't even tell me.
"I knew you'd be protective of her and not allow me to see her so I asked him not to tell you," Keith confessed.
"You're a player, I don't want you messing up that little girl's feelings and breaking her heart," I cautioned him.
"I'll try not to. I mean, I like her so why would I mess this up?" Keith argued.
We got to the shelter, and she was waiting for us by the reception. She looked down when she saw me and played with the edges of her dress.
"Take the front seat, I'll sit by the back," I instructed.
She giggled and nodded. We got into the car. It was awkward, and it was because she was scared of me.
"You'll be taking her back first thing tomorrow morning, Kwenzo," I reminded Keith.
"Yes, Sis," Keith agreed.
"And behave yourself. Feel free, Alicia, I don't bite," I reassured her.
She giggled and nodded. We went into the house and I went upstairs. I was looking for the bathroom, I needed to pee. Why is this house huge and has many doors? I just need the bathroom before I pee on myself.
"Aaaaaah!!!!" I screamed.
"Shit!" Trish exclaimed.
I closed the door and closed my eyes. Breath in and out. In and out. Breath, Shantel.
Everyone was now standing in front of me looking at me with worry in their faces.
"What is going on? We heard you screaming your lungs out," Brenda asked.
"Uhmm...," I stammered.
The door opened slowly and they came out with guilt written all over their faces.
