Chapter 735: All Illegal

After calling the police, both law enforcement and the ambulance had yet to arrive.

Knowing they couldn't leave Benjamin exposed like this any longer, they decisively forced open a private hospital room and moved him inside.

Once Benjamin, still unconscious, was settled, the two brothers left Rosalind to wait by his side and decided to confront the group of family members.

They had no idea what organ Benjamin had been coerced into donating. Without access to a doctor, their only option was to question the family members.

Even if they couldn't get a clear answer, they needed to ensure the group didn't leave before the authorities arrived. There was no way they would let them escape!

As for the private clinic itself? There was no escaping accountability for this place.

When Alex had reported the incident, he'd made it clear that the clinic was not only suspected of illegally selling organs but also of forcing others to donate.

Either way, both were illegal.

"Alex, did you run into that group when you arrived?" Andrew asked.

Alex had come from another floor, so if he hadn't seen them, they could start searching this one.

Alex shook his head. "No, I didn't see them. They're probably still on this floor. Let's look together."

Given the number of people in the group, splitting up wasn't an option. Even though they'd called the police, it could take some time for them to arrive.

"Alright." Andrew agreed without hesitation.

They hadn't paid attention to where the group had gone earlier, but they still remembered their faces. Finding them shouldn't be difficult.

Sure enough, after a short search, they found the family members on the same floor.

"Come out here and explain yourselves!"

Andrew couldn't hold back his anger, especially when he saw the group hastily packing their things, clearly preparing to leave.

They were actually trying to run!

After what they'd done to their brother, they still had the audacity to try and sneak away.

Alex blocked the doorway, his face dark. "We've already called the police. Don't think you can just walk away and pretend nothing happened."

Hearing this, the family members inside the room stopped packing and exchanged uneasy glances.

Finally, a tall, burly middle-aged man stepped forward.

"You must be the donor's family. We're very grateful for his donation, but calling the police was unnecessary."

The man's serious tone and displeased expression carried an unsettling weight that made Andrew hesitate.

But Alex only frowned deeply and let out a cold laugh. "Unnecessary? You forcibly took our brother's organs, and that's not excessive?"

The man's imposing demeanor was indeed intimidating, but Alex refused to back down. He knew they couldn't show any weakness now.

This group had no moral ground to stand on. If they showed any hesitation, the family might even convince themselves they were in the right.

The middle-aged man seized on Alex's accusation. "Forcibly?"

His expression was one of confusion, as if he had no idea what Alex was talking about.

Andrew clenched his teeth in frustration at the man's feigned innocence.

This guy was clearly putting on an act, mocking them!

Infuriated, Andrew couldn't hold back any longer.

"If it wasn't forced, then what was it? My brother would never voluntarily donate his organs. He was kidnapped and taken away!"

Andrew's voice was loud and filled with anger as he glared at the man.

Before the man could respond, a younger member of the group stepped forward, unable to stay silent.

"It was voluntary! He signed a consent form for the donation!" the young man shouted, his tone full of indignation as he glared at Alex and Andrew.

His face was filled with disdain, clearly harboring deep resentment toward the brothers. After all, they'd already caused a scene before the surgery was even finished. It was impossible for him to have a positive opinion of them.

The young man's words left Alex and Andrew momentarily stunned.

Their already grim faces grew darker, now mixed with disbelief and shock.

"That's impossible," Andrew murmured, his voice shaky.

Not wanting to lose composure, Andrew glanced at Alex, hoping he would say something.

Alex, though equally shaken, managed to speak. His voice was calm, but his expression betrayed the storm of emotions brewing beneath the surface. "Where is this consent form?"

Inside, Alex was battling doubts. Could Benjamin really have signed it?

But he quickly quashed the thought.

They all remembered Benjamin's promise. There was no way he would willingly do something like this, especially knowing their mother couldn't handle another blow.

It couldn't have been voluntary.

And Benjamin had been taken away by Thea and her accomplice, Trista. This entire situation, including the so-called consent form, was likely orchestrated by Thea.

They not only needed to keep this group from leaving but also find Thea.

If they could locate her, the truth would come to light.

While Alex's mind raced with possibilities, Andrew's thoughts were far simpler.

He was certain Benjamin wouldn't have agreed to this.

His first instinct was that something was wrong with the document. He hadn't yet connected it to Thea, especially since she seemed absent from the current situation.

Benjamin's organs had already been transplanted into someone else, and Thea didn't seem to have benefited in any way.

Hearing Alex ask about the consent form, Andrew turned to him.

One look at Alex's expression told him his brother also suspected the document was fraudulent.

When the family members didn't immediately respond, Andrew gritted his teeth and demanded, "Where is that consent form?"

"It's…" The young man started to answer, but the middle-aged man shot him a warning look.

The young man immediately fell silent.

Alex and Andrew both frowned and turned their attention to the older man.

The middle-aged man smiled faintly.

"We'll show you the form, but only when the police arrive. They'll see it first."

The man's cautious tone made it clear he didn't trust Alex or Andrew not to destroy the document.

Since the brothers had called the police, it was clear this matter wouldn't be resolved privately. Letting the authorities handle it would be the safest option.

After all, they had nothing to fear.

They'd paid for the transplant, and the consent form had Benjamin's signature.

They weren't worried about the police.

Alex and Andrew's faces grew colder at his words.

"Fine," Alex said. "Then we'll wait for the police."
