Chapter 46 046

Chapter 46 046
UNCLE GREG

I couldn't comprehend it. He was cold and wasn't even ready to hear a word.

“Leave here, Greg,” the same very harsh words Ray would say each time I appear in his office unannounced.

“Are you being serious?”

“Yes, you fucking heard me, brother…I don't want you here. You think I would watch you run everything for the family, brother?”

“...this is Dad's company and I owe it to him to see that it moves forward cause all you want to keep doing is running it down with your outrageous demands… “

“My outrageous demands? Are you okay at all?  Do you realize I am your older bro….”

His loud cough interrupted my sentence before I could complete it…..”Oh please, brother. Stop this thing already…..every single time all you do is tell me how old you are and blah blah…”

“Aren't you tired of repeating the same thing every single time??!” he lashed out at me and dashed away.

I frowned.

“I will get you. I know I will,” I snapped my fingers at him and walked out of the office.

And then again, like a past experience would always take its toll on me, I found myself standing in front of Ray Gold's son and I am shocked at the words being said to me.

He sounded just like his father….

“Uncle Greg….is this about money?” He finally spoke in a calm tone.

The voices in my head won't just keep shut up. If I could let them out, this boy would know I am not to be toyed with…

I shut those voices that minute. I was more focused on getting that signature.

“Can we go somewhere private?” I asked calmly….

“I don't understand, Uncle Greg. My office is a private place. We can have our discussion here….” He answered in a rude tone.

“Steven…I just need a private moment with you…I know you don't trust me but you can bring your guards along..I don't mind…let's just find somewhere other than here, to talk,” I spoke further.

“Alright, give me a minute,” he said as he walked out of the office.

Dumbass idiot.

You can carry an army along if you wish…I don't fucking care..”I just need to find the best way to get him to sign what I have with me then I am done with this humiliation,” I uttered to myself.

I sighed out, waiting patiently for him to come back.

After a while, he came back inside alone but with a file in his hands. “What's  this for?” I asked, pointing to the heavy file in his hands.

“Nothing to worry about, Uncle Greg. Let's go,” he uttered.

“I was expecting like 5 of them all lined up outside,” I teased as we got outside and one of the bodyguard followed us closely.

“I had seen that particular bodyguard from somewhere. He is definitely not just a random bodyguard,” I muttered.

“Erm…Uncle Greg…..This is Thomas, he is my most trusted and most capable, and he is very good. He doesn't take nonsense,” he said.

I looked at the young man seated at the driver's seat and despite his respectful greeting, I just didn't like him.

“I just hope this young man doesn't interfere in the matter at hand else I am done for!” the voice in my head said in a resounding tone.

We drove off. My plan to pick a location didn't work so I allowed him drive us off to wherever until we arrived at a lounge.

“Why does it look so empty?” I said as soon as we got down from the car.

“Its been reserved for us, Sir. That is why it seemed like that,” the bodyguard answered.

Pfff..What a show off. We got in and it was exactly as he had said.

The whole place was close to empty and I could even count the numbers of people that were present in there.

It got to a point I almost felt even the people at the lounge are Steven's men and not just regular people.

We sat at a reserved table and drinks were already served right in front of us. My eyes darted around the whole place in fear but I composed myself.

I'm an elderly figure. I shouldn't act like I am moved by all those little tricks. I am way past all of this.

I didn't even wait for him to say anything. I bang my head on my forehead. “I have failed myself. I have really failed myself..”

“What do you mean, Uncle Greg?”

“Look at me filled with nothing but envy and hatred for someone whom I should have called my son and pull in closer in my arms,” I said.

And he scoffed yet again. “Uncle, you don't need it…its fine.. I am okay the way we are,  no need to feel bad,” he responded harshly.

“You are right,” I answered in a sharp tone.

“Which is why I have come to you with my little beginnings,” I started.

“I'm  equally tired of coming to you and begging for peanuts only to be chased away….and I am tired of moving around trying to get what I ought to plead for honorably,” I continued.

At this point, I just knew I had gotten his attention. He was undoubtedly mute and his eyes were focused on my lips.

“I have decided to set up a farm and I have made my financial projections and analysis.  Not only that, I have secured a land from what I saved up from the money you dad gave me in the past years before he died….”

“Wait, you mean you saved up?” He interrupted and I nodded in response….

“Hmm..” I noticed he smiled halfway afterwards like he was pleased to hear what I had just said.

“In fact here is a proof of it all. I just need a signatory of my next of kin to make it very much official..and you know much that I don't have a son so you are the next best option for me right now….” I said as I handed over the document to him.

These were the same documents I had been given at the onset of my agro business startup but it had been tweaked to look like I just got it and I really needed a signatory.

“Uncle, this is awesome.. I am really surprised and happy. I don't think I have a problem with this….You could achieve a lot on your own with this from what I can see here,” he said as he flipped the pages over.

He paused, took a deep breath, placed the document on the table. He brought his pen from his shirt pocket….

“ I would gladly do this for you, Uncle Greg,” as he held his pen firmly in his hand.

He was about to sign when a voice interrupted….

“Boss.”

“A young man is requesting to see you sir..”

My heart almost failed that second. “What the actual fuck?”

He returned his pen back, “who could that be?”

“He said he is here to see me?”

“Not you, boss. Your Uncle,” the guard said.

I tuned back, “Uhn?”
