Chapter 745: They All Came Out

Chapter 745: They All Came Out

Both the masked men and the two girls started fighting.

And they were really going at it, like they had some deep-seated grudge against each other.

I watched for a few moments and thought it was a bit violent, but everyone else seemed to be enjoying it, even clapping and cheering.

If they kept fighting like this, someone was definitely going to get seriously hurt.

But everyone thought it was just part of the masked men’s performance, so they didn’t care much.

Some people even egged them on, wanting the fight to get more intense.

"I don't think this is right," I frowned.

Royce nodded, "The way they're fighting, it doesn't look like a performance. Could something have gone wrong?"

"But wasn't this show organized by those people? With their skills, there shouldn't be any mistakes, right?" I glanced over again and saw blood.

"What if this is part of their plan? If someone dies at the party, everyone here becomes a suspect."

Royce sighed, his sharp features showing a hint of worry.

I opened my mouth but didn't know what to say.

When the crowd saw blood, they froze for a moment, but soon someone murmured.

"Oh my God, could this be part of the performance? Where did they get such realistic fake blood?"

"I think it's definitely part of the show. I just wonder when this magic trick will end."

I suddenly remembered a saying: "To those who don't care about you, when they see you hanging, they'll think you're swinging."

So I couldn't help but speak up, "Is it possible that they're not performing?"

"No way," a bystander muttered, "That masked man just said, 'A magician never fails.'"

But this was getting way too bloody; I couldn't bear to watch anymore.

"Forget it, I'm not a fan of such bloody scenes. Let's go." I thought it was a good excuse to leave.

Just then, the four people in the center of the crowd suddenly stopped.

The masked man calmly took out a tissue and wiped the blood off his face.

"Sorry for the unpleasant experience. I thought you all would enjoy this kind of performance."

The bystander next to me smirked, "See? I told you it's part of the show."

I heard that and couldn't help but twitch my lips.

It was true, but this whole thing felt even creepier.

"I hope we didn't cause any panic," the other masked man said, "Now we'll wrap up this magic trick."

After saying that, the masked man covered the two of them with a red cloth.

Then he snapped his fingers, and when the cloth fell, the two masked men had become one.

"Did I scare you? Can you repeat that phrase for me?" The masked man smirked.

Everyone went wild with applause, but I found it even more eerie.

I thought someone might die, but now I couldn't figure out their plan.

Then the masked man covered the two girls with the red cloth.

"Repeat that phrase with me: 'Beautiful flowers, how many do you have?'"

The crowd echoed louder than before, "Beautiful flowers, how many do you have?"

The masked man lifted the cloth, and the two girls had become one.

"My performance is over. I hope you all enjoyed it."

He spun around the crowd, bowing gracefully at each point. The continuous applause was a sign of their approval.

Was it really over?

I frowned, "Something still feels off."

"Ever heard the saying?" Royce pursed his lips, "Magic is about deceiving the mind."

I nodded, but didn’t see the connection to what was happening now.

"Remember our first guess?" Royce squinted at me.

I nodded again, "Are you saying the girl has been replaced?"

"I'm not sure, because her reactions and actions seem unchanged," Royce frowned.

I opened my mouth, seeing everyone immersed in the magician’s performance, even asking him to do it again.

"What if the girl is your plant? Can you perform the trick again?"

"Yeah, you have to do it again."

I couldn't help but twitch my lips. If our speculation was right, they were practically walking into their own trap.

Whether the girl was the masked man’s accomplice or not, participating in such a magic trick required caution.

"Is there a way to stop them?" I suspected everyone might end up participating in the performance.

People tend to follow the crowd and are curious about mysterious things.

Now that they’d seen this performance, they definitely wanted to understand the secret behind it.

If they were participants, their experience might be different, so many would want to try.

"Isn't it almost ten o'clock? Aren't you guys in a hurry to get home?" I deliberately shouted into the crowd.

No one cared who shouted; they just argued back.

"It's only ten o'clock. Why rush home?"

"I want to experience the magic show. I've never seen it this close before. Only a confident magician can do this."

I knew I couldn't convince them, and I didn't know any of them.

Maybe it was selfish and cold, but I didn’t need to get involved.

"Let's go," Royce suggested again.

I thought for a moment and nodded, "We shouldn't stay any longer."

We turned and walked away, expecting the masked man to stop us, but he didn’t say a word.

As we left the venue, the neon lights outside felt surreal. They were beautiful.

"I feel like there are more problems," I frowned, looking around, "Should we wait for the others to come out?"

I meant the people we saw at the party. I wanted to see if anyone had been replaced through the magic trick.

"No need to wait, they’re already out," Royce said, puzzled, looking behind me.

I turned around.

"Weren’t they just eager to see the performance? Why are they all out?"
