The stranger

Jayden's POV:

I stood there, frozen, as Liam’s father dragged him away. His grip was tight, like Liam was just another thing he owned. How could anyone do that to their own son? I watched them leave, my heart racing. My instinct as a werewolf, the power coursing through me, was telling me to do something. To stop it, to help Liam. But I couldn’t. I had to hold myself back.

My mom had always told me to stay calm, to never let my anger take over. But this? This was different. Liam wasn’t just some random guy. He was someone I cared about. I couldn’t just stand by and watch him be treated like that. But what could I do?

I stood still, lost in my thoughts, trying to figure out what to do next. I couldn’t just let it go. I couldn’t just walk away. But I also couldn’t make a scene. Not here, not now.

And then, just when I thought I couldn’t stand there any longer, someone grabbed my hand. My heart jumped into my throat. My senses went on alert. This person... this person was no human. I could feel it. The power in his grip. The way he moved. He was a werewolf.

I tried to pull away, but he didn’t let go. I looked at him, confused and slightly terrified.

“Who are you?” I asked, my voice shaking slightly.

He just stared at me, his eyes dark and intense. “I’m your father,” he said, and my stomach twisted.

No. This couldn’t be happening. My father was dead. My mother had always told me that. I knew it. I didn’t need anyone telling me otherwise.

I pulled my hand away, my mind racing. “No,” I said, my voice louder now, more forceful. “You’re not my father. My father is dead.”

But he just stepped closer, wrapping his arms around me in a tight hug. His scent was familiar, but I couldn’t place it. It was almost like... like my mother. But that didn’t matter. Nothing mattered except that this man wasn’t my father.

“Stop!” I pushed him away. “You’re harassing me!”

He stepped back, a small smile playing on his lips. “I know you’re my son. You’re a werewolf, just like me.”

My heart stopped. He knew. He knew I was a werewolf. My mother had always told me to keep it a secret. To never let anyone find out. And now, this stranger... this man who claimed to be my father... knew.

“I’m not a werewolf,” I said, my voice shaking. I had to lie. I had to keep this secret. If anyone found out, my whole world would fall apart.

But the man didn’t buy it. His smile faded, and his eyes darkened. “I know what you are. And I’ll make you show me,” he said, his voice cold.

Before I could react, he lunged at me, his hands reaching for me. Panic flooded my chest. I couldn’t let him touch me. I couldn’t let him expose me. My mind raced, and before I knew it, I was running. Running as fast as I could, my heart pounding in my ears.

I didn’t look back. I couldn’t. I just had to get away. I had to hide. I ducked into a nearby alley, hoping to lose him. I pressed myself against the wall, holding my breath. My heart was still racing, and my legs felt like jelly. I didn’t know what was happening.

Was this real? Was this really my father? Or was he just someone pretending to be him?

I waited, my senses straining, trying to hear any sound, any movement. After what felt like forever, I finally peeked around the corner.

Nothing.

I let out a breath I didn’t know I was holding. Maybe I was safe. For now.

But just as I started to relax, I heard it. A low growl, coming from behind me. My blood turned to ice. How could he have found me so quickly?

I spun around, and there he was. Standing right in front of me.

My heart stopped. I couldn’t move. I couldn’t breathe. He was looking at me like I was his prey. His eyes were dark, and his lips curled into a smirk.

“You can’t hide from me,” he said, his voice low and threatening. “I will find you, no matter where you go.”

I took a step back, my mind racing. What did he want with me? Why was he chasing me? Was he really my father, or was this some twisted game?

I had to get out of here. But my body felt frozen. I couldn’t run. I couldn’t think straight. All I could do was stare at him, my body trembling.

“What do you want from me?” I whispered, my voice barely audible.

He smiled, his eyes gleaming with something dark. “You’ll find out soon enough,” he said.

I couldn’t make sense of his words. My mind was spinning. My heart was hammering in my chest. I didn’t know who this man was, but one thing was clear: he wasn’t going to let me go.

“Leave me alone,” I begged, my voice shaking.

But he didn’t listen. Instead, he took a step closer, his eyes never leaving mine. “You can’t run forever,” he said softly. “You’re part of me. And I will make you see that.”

I felt trapped. There was no way out. No escape. This man, was too strong. And I had no idea how to fight him.

I backed away, my mind racing for an answer. But there was nothing. Nothing except the cold fear that was growing inside me.

What was I supposed to do?

I glanced around, but there was nowhere to hide. Nowhere to run.

The man’s eyes never left me.

And then, just when I thought I couldn’t take it anymore, he spoke again. “You’re mine, whether you like it or not.”

My heart stopped.

He tried grabbing me by the wrists, I struggled and then suddenly the man fell, and a figure emerged, I couldn't see them clearly but they saved me.

Who could they be?
