I'll make him pay

Liam's POV:

“So are we friends now?” Jayden asked and I smiled.

“Yes, we are, I hope we get along.” I said with a happy face.

But my happy face was short-lived when my dad appeared in the door. I almost sank in the floor, the face of him only made me sad and made my stomach churn.

“Get ready, we are going right now,” my dad’s voice cut through the air, sharp and commanding.

I quickly pulled my hand away from Jayden’s. I had to leave, and I had to leave now. There was no time to waste. I didn’t even look back at him as I turned to follow my father.

Cause I knew what my dad could do, I had been humiliated countless times before Jayden, I can't bear to be humiliated once again.

“Where are you going?” Jayden called out, but I didn’t answer. I couldn’t. If I did, my father would be angrier than he already was.

I was struggling to stay on my feet. I didn’t feel well, my head was spinning, but my father wouldn’t care. He never did. All that mattered was that I obeyed him, no matter how sick I was, no matter how tired.

“Come on, let’s go,” my father snapped. His grip was like iron, pulling me toward the car.

But then, Jayden’s voice echoed behind me. “He’s sick. You shouldn’t drag him like this. He needs rest.”

I stopped walking for a second. Jayden... Why was he always so kind? He didn’t have to care about me.

But my father spun around, fury in his eyes. “Mind your business, little boy!” he shouted. “Don’t think you can tell me what to do with my son. Stay out of it!”

Jayden didn’t flinch, but I could see the anger in his face. “Sir, what you're doing SI nit right, I'll have to call the corps on you, if you keep acting this way!” Jayden threatened and I smirked. He was one bold boy.

But I didn't want the matter to escalate more than the way it is already. “Just go,” I said quietly, my voice carrying something I couldn’t quite understand. “I’ll be fine.”

I didn’t want to go, but my father’s hand was firm on my arm, pulling me along. “Let’s get in the car,” he ordered, and I had no choice but to obey.

The drive was long, too long. The silence between my parents pressed down on me like a heavy weight. I tried to focus on something else, but I couldn’t. My head ached, my body felt weak, and my stomach twisted with something darker. Fear, maybe. Or something worse.

When we finally reached home, my father didn’t even wait for the car to fully stop. He got out first, slamming the door behind him. I followed, trying not to show how much I was hurting.

He stood in front of me, his eyes cold, his words sharp. “So, you think you can just do anything you want? You think I’ll let you die without my permission? You won’t! Not while I’m alive!”

His voice was a roar. I wanted to say something, to argue, but I couldn’t. His hands were already on me, grabbing me, shaking me, pushing me harder than I could stand.

“You’re mine. Don’t forget that! Everything about you is mine. And if you want to do something, I will be the one who decides. You understand?”

I didn’t understand. I didn’t know how to make sense of his words. All I wanted was for him to stop. To stop hurting me. To stop controlling me. But he didn’t stop. He slapped me hard, and I staggered back, falling against the wall.

“Stay away from that boy!” he shouted again, his voice hoarse with anger. “I told you already. If I see you with him again, you’ll regret it. Do you hear me?”

I nodded weakly, tears stinging my eyes. He didn’t care. He didn’t care at all.

“Go to your room. Don’t come out until I say so!”

I turned away, not trusting myself to say anything more. My father was still yelling at me, but I didn’t hear him. My mind was too full, too numb. I ran to my room, slammed the door shut, and collapsed onto my bed, letting the sobs finally come.

I covered my face with my hands, tears soaking through my fingers. How had everything gotten so messed up?

And why did I still care about Jayden?

Jayden was the reason everything had gone wrong. He was the reason my dad was angry. I had told him I wanted to be friends, but now... Now it felt like a mistake.

What was I doing? Was this even real? Was I really going to let myself be friends with someone like him?

No. I couldn’t.

I made a decision in that moment. I would use this. I would use my so-called friendship with Jayden as a way to hurt him.

I would make him pay.

I would make him feel the pain I was feeling right now. The anger, the frustration. The loneliness. Everything.

I smirked, pulling the duvet over my head, hiding my face.

It was all too easy.

If I had to pretend to be friends with him, then so be it. I would use every moment to drag him down. I would make him regret even talking to me. I would make him feel like I felt.

The tears slowed, but my mind raced.

The next time I saw him, things would be different.

I would smile at him, pretend to care, pretend everything was fine. But inside, I’d be plotting. Plotting my revenge.

I gripped the blanket tighter, my heart pounding.

I wasn’t sure what was worse. The fact that I was hurting or the fact that I was ready to hurt someone else to make myself feel better.

But I had made my choice.

And I wasn’t going to change it.
