Chapter 136 THE CALM BEFORE THE STORM

Chapter 136 THE CALM BEFORE THE STORM
ISABELLA
He looked intimidating in full tactical gear, and Kiara almost had a heart attack.
I started laughing when she begged them not to call her mother. So big and she’s still a baby.
Turns out the guard was under Kaden’s orders, there to get us out and protect us quietly.
I didn’t know what my prince was up to, but the way he’d been acting all mysterious, I knew tonight was going to be huge.
We went shopping and I spent like a tyrant. Finally living the dream of the kept wife funded by the sexy millionaire.
Kaden told me not to hold back, and to spoil him later I bought a few lingerie sets that totally scandalized innocent Kiara.
I teased her until she bolted out of the store.
Harper, on the other hand, got lost in the sports section and we couldn’t drag her out until lunchtime.
Then, bent over a leather mini skirt I couldn’t decide whether to buy or not, I felt Thera perk up, thrilled.
“It’s my mate!” she almost howled, sliding straight into Ash’s inner world to go tumble around with him.
A muscular chest pressed against my back, and a delicious kiss landed on my neck.
My male’s hands locked possessively around my hips, pulling me tight, my ass pushed to his crotch.
“Buy it, but only so you’ll wear it for me... and no panties under it,” he whispered in my ear, all possessive.
“Not in your dreams, babe. This gorgeous body wasn’t made to stay hidden in your bedroom,” I snorted, grabbed the skirt by the hanger, and ground my ass against his cock on purpose.
Then I turned and headed for the register.
A low growl vibrated in his throat and he barely let me go.
“We’ll see,” he said, voice all challenge... like he had any clue what he was starting.
He was basically handing me new ways to drive him insane.
A night out at a bar with William, and this mini skirt was happening. No matter what.
“I’m taking this, and he’s paying,” I said, pointing at him like he was my bodyguard.
Kaden didn’t say a word. He just slipped a hand into the inside pocket of his leather jacket and pulled out his wallet.
When the salesgirl realized he was a lycan, I don’t know if she recognized him as the prince or not, but the color drained right out of her face.
“Th... there are discounts for nobles...” she stammered, but she was looking at Kaden instead of me.
Of course. I wasn’t nobility... according to her.
“And why are you telling me?” he said. “She’s the one buying. Give the discounts to the princess.”
The way my stomach flipped, even I surprised myself, but I didn’t let it show.
“The... the prin...” BAM!
The poor girl literally crashed, like her blood sugar dropped through the floor. She almost hit the ground.
“Hey! Help!” I shouted toward the employees’ area, and another blonde rushed out and caught her.
Another one who practically rolled out the red carpet when she realized she was dealing with the princes of the realm.
She recognized Kaden instantly, too. I couldn’t miss the shock in her eyes.
Honestly... all that servility made me uncomfortable.
“Why would you do that? Didn’t we say we’d be discreet?” I raised a brow as we walked, his arm still around my waist.
Shopping bags from those boutiques hung off his shoulder like it was nothing.
“Get used to being a princess. I’m not hiding you. Soon everyone will know you’re mine,” he said, leaning in to steal a sweet little peck from my lips.
On the boutique street, people stared. I knew some of them recognized Kaden.
And even if they didn’t, lycans always got priority everywhere.
The envy from the females was obvious when they looked at me.
“I still don’t know how to handle the name change... sometimes I feel like it’s a mess, just stepping back into the original spot like it’s nothing,” I murmured as we made our way to a cute restaurant at the far end of the mall.
“Baby, you need to understand something. Nobles, especially the royal family, don’t owe anyone an explanation. Tonight you leave it to me. Whatever I say, they’ll swallow it. That’s it,” he said, casual as always.
I just stared up at him because I barely reached his shoulder.
That confidence he carried... so sexy. So strong.
Black pants, dark tall boots, and a leather jacket with some biker slogan splashed across it.
The bad boy everybody wanted, and he was mine.
“Do we need to stop at a hotel before lunch?” he suddenly asked, teasing, dipping his head after catching me staring like Thera.
“Trust me, if you saw the new lingerie sets, you’d drag me by my hair, babe. There’s one with straps made of lea... Kaden!” I started laughing when he actually acted like we were about to turn down another street.
I yanked him back toward the department building where the guys were already waiting.
Even William and Darius had come to spend the afternoon with us.
“My blonde, get over here. Show me what you bought...” William swooped in and grabbed me right before we walked into the restaurant.
