Chapter 130
Sienna's pov
Great, Harrison and Zach had been blowing up my phone.
"Why don't you call Zach now?" I shoved my phone in front of her. "We've only been talking for about four hours, and I told Martha before I left. Why are they freaking out?"
Luna suddenly turned the car off. "You should call Zach back first."
I figured Harrison and Zach were probably together.
I called Harrison , but he didn't pick up, so I dialed Zach's number next.
"Sienna , why is your phone switched off? Harrison is losing it."
Zach sounded unusually serious, almost breathless.
"It died, so I turned it off. It's no big deal. What's there to worry about?" I explained briefly. "I'm with Luna. She wants you to come over now. I'll send you the location."
"What?"
Zach seemed surprised.
"What's wrong?"
There was a moment of silence on the other end, then he spoke more seriously. "Kaia called Harrison about ten minutes ago, and said she was with you. Harrison 's already on his way."
What...
I immediately shouted, "Harrison believed her?! I told Martha before I left!"
He could meet anyone, but why Kaia?
"Your phone was off, and Harrison was worried. You know how worried he gets when he's concerned."
Now wasn't the time for blame.
Kaia used me to lure Harrison over. Her intentions were definitely not clear.
"Tell me the location. We're heading over there now."
The unease in my heart grew stronger. I had a vague idea of what Kaia might do.
If Harrison hadn't lied , Kaia wouldn't have succeeded.
But what if he did? She was an expert in mental manipulation, and a doctor. It wouldn't be hard to drug someone.
"I think it's some bar. The name's a bit tricky, can't remember."
I hung up, furious.
What was the use of him?!
But a bar...
I quickly unbuckled my seatbelt and jumped out of the car.
"Sienna ! Don't rush!"
Luna had to find a spot to park again, but I couldn't wait for her.
As dusk fell, the bar was getting crowded.
I scanned the room but didn't find them.
My phone chimed at that moment.
The timing was too perfect; it was hard not to suspect someone was watching me.
I didn't know who sent the message, but I recognized the photo—no face, yet it unmistakenly looked like Harrison .
His chest was exposed, a slender hand resting on his heart—a woman's hand.
A wedding ring on the middle finger.
It was the style Harrison and I had chosen for our wedding... I almost forgot.
The woman's ring was the men's style.
Harrison gave his wedding ring to Kaia?!
I was about to text him when another message came through: [Room 345, eighth floor.]
I could almost picture the scene i was about to walk into.
Kaia was provoking me so blatantly. Could she and Harrison already...
"Sienna ! Are you okay?"
Luna caught up, looking scared by my expression.
"Don't scare me. He's only a man. He's not worth your tears!"
I'd told myself this countless times.
"Luna, come with me."
My reason and my emotions were at odds, pushing me to the edge of madness.
I hoped things weren't as bad as I imagined.
Luna's presence helped me calmed down a little
After all, Kaia wanted me to see that photo.
Photos can be manipulated. Unless I saw it myself, I wouldn't believe it.
When the elevator doors opened, I rushed to room 345. To my surprise, the door was slightly open.
Inside, I heard a man and woman talking—Harrison and Kaia.
"Mrs. Blackwood's conversation with her friend should be ending soon. Don't worry. If she regains some memory after talking, it will only benefit us."
"But you shouldn't be here today. You should be at the office."
Harrison 's voice was icy cold.
This didn't seem like part of his act in front of Kaia.
"If I hadn't shown up, how long would you keep looking for Mrs. Blackwood? I'm helping you."
There was a shuffle of footsteps inside.
"I know you're worried about me, but Harrison , Mrs. Blackwood is innocent. I hope to be friends with her. Since our relationship is certainly going to hurt her, I want to do some good before that day comes."
I wanted to see their positions while they talked, but if I suddenly appeared, it would only make things worse.
Luna couldn't stay calm anymore.
She didn't give me a chance to react, storming into the room.
"Kaia, right? Long time no see. You can justify ruining someone's marriage so grandly. You're worse than Elena!"
With Luna charging in, I couldn't hide anymore and followed her to the door.
The scene inside nearly suffocated me.
Harrison stood by the bed, one hand pressing down on a woman's shoulder. Kaia sat on the bed, looking up at Harrison with a tender, submissive gaze.
Harrison 's clothes were disheveled, his shirt unbuttoned except for the last two.
Kaia looked flustered. "Mrs. Blackwood, Ms. Reed! Your conversation ended..."
"If it hadn't, you two would be making love by now."
Luna couldn't contain her anger, shouting, "Kaia, your manners are appalling. Did you learn to be a homewrecker from your cousin? Nice skills."
Cousin?
I was puzzled but stayed silent.
Clearly, Luna knew Kaia's cousin.
From her tone, it seemed I should know him too.
"Ms. Reed, you're too agitated. Things aren't as you think."
Kaia quickly composed herself, distancing herself from Harrison .
She turned her gaze to me.
"Mrs. Blackwood, I think we need to talk."
Kaia was far more formidable than Elena.
I leaned against the doorframe, cold to the scene. "Go ahead."
In front of Harrison , I wanted to see what she would say.
I also wanted to know how much Harrison would tolerate her.
"I'm sorry. I said something too harsh this afternoon, and you turned off your phone because of me. Harrison was worried something bad had happened to you. I planned to apologize after you finished talking, but I didn't expect you to talk for so long, nor for Harrison to come so quickly. I thought, given his guilt towards you, he'd be relieved knowing you were safe."
What kind of nonsense was this? Was she trying to provoke me?
Seeing Harrison 's lack of reaction, I nodded coldly. "So? Is that your excuse for cheating here?"
