Chap.126*Everybody Likes Ava*
"Why didn't you tell me before?" I felt bad for him, now that he had expressed his feelings, I could only imagine the pain he will feel once her boyfriend will come over.
"I didn't think it would be too late, I wanted to first let her know me more as she hardly speaks to me." He responded with his face buried.
I wish he had told me; I would have never invited the guy over in his presence. But now that Ava has already invited him, I couldn't ask her to drop the idea and hurt her.
It was just like how I wanted, I truly wanted them to date so that we all friends could remain friends and even our kids become friends later on.
Later on, we started preparing dinner and my attention kept averting to Garret.
If he liked Ava, then why did she say that he had been checking me out? Did she lie to get him out of the house so that she could bring her boyfriend home?
Because she did tell me that he didn't have a job either so maybe she thought he could stay here for free with her.
When the guy came, Garret was almost ready to break down.
"Hey, nice to meet you too, Evan!" Desmond shook hands with him and instantly found a liking towards him.
Evan was extremely handsome, I could now see why Garret was so jealous and insecure ever since Evan had arrived.
He was a nice guy, very good with Roy too. When we were eating and Roy kept crying, Evan left the table to play with Roy as he couldn't concentrate on anything while Roy was upset.
Desmond and Evan were hitting off pretty well too, it was just Garret who wasn't happy and rightfully so, Ava never gave him a chance and brought another man home.
"I think I should leave soon." Garret whispered in my ears when he saw Desmond, Ava and Evan having a fun conversation.
Nobody has been this nice to Garret but this new guy was acting like he was family.
"No! He will leave." I promised him and once Desmond got up to attend the restroom and Ava went to put Roy to bed, I decided to speak to Evan.
"So, Evan, how do you plan on taking care of Ava with no job?" I knew it was rude, but I did want to make him feel uncomfortable, something that would make him leave Ava so that Garret and Ava could have their happy ending.
"I'm looking for a job. I have a degree but no experience," he replied very politely.
"And when is that going to happen?" I wasn't holding back; I didn't have much time so I was trying to convey my message in haste.
"Hopefully soon," he showed his beautiful smile and then nervously looked at the door, maybe hoping that Ava comes out soon.
"I hope you do it quick or maybe leave her until you find a job." I bet he too realized that I was aiming to hurt his ego because he lowered his face and didn't respond to me.
Soon the night ended and Evan parted after spending some hours alone with Ava. I was feeling heavily sad for Garret and how Ava never even gave him a chance.
So when the morning came, I insisted Ava to go on a jog with me. I somewhat knew that she would be angry if I will suggest her to drop Evan and try to spend some time with Garret.
I know I was being but I don’t think Evan would ever be able to love her the way Garret loved her.
“So, how do you feel about Evan?” Ava asked very excitedly, stretching in the park with me.
“I was fearing you would ask me that,” well, I was visibly bitter.
“What, why? Did you not like him?” she finally turned to me to pay me full attention, “why didn’t you like him?” she sounded truly upset and it broke my heart that she needed my approval this bad.
Evan, he was a nice guy but I couldn’t see Garret hurt. Both Ava and Garret were my good friends, I wanted a solution that both of them can stay happy.
“He is okay, but honestly speaking, there are better options than him.” I stole eyes from her and murmured in my mouth, her eyes were glued to me.
“Like who?” she had cracked the code; she knew what I was trying to do.
“Is this about Garret again?” she questioned, sounding very annoyed.
“Why not him? It is not like Evan has any job.” The more I tried to explain it to her, the more annoyed she looked with me. I was upset that my friend was not able to understand how important friendships are in our life.
“Ayleen, I have a better connection with Evan. He understands me, he loves me and I honestly love him just like you love Desmond. If it is that easy to be with someone you don’t like, then why did you pick Desmond and not Garret?” now that she raised her voice and mumbled everything without a pause, it made sense to me. It made me feel guilt for what I was asking from her.
I quickly apologized to her and made amends with her, promising her to never bring up the topic of Garret again. I also made a decision to let Garret know that Ava was happy with Evan and I was happy in her happiness.
The rest of the day was calming but Garret had spent the entire day out of the house. By the time he had arrived home, both Desmond and Ava were asleep. I stayed awake to cheer him up since I knew he would be hurting.
We decided to play a movie and enjoy some time as friends. As the night went by, he started making little conversations during the movie. The topic he would raise were mostly about the male leads of the movie and everything there would be an intimate scene, he would start making weird noises.
I ignored him for a while, thinking he was just joking but then he took a wrong hint of my silence.
He started leaning more and more towards me, he began to get more and more closer to me. Every time he would get closer, I would pull my body away from him.
“Garret!” I giggled nervously, trying to push him away as he forced to rest his head on my shoulder.
“Don’t stop me, please.” He mumbled under his breath, while his hand grabbed my bo**, the sudden touch from him sent shivers down my spine.
“Garret! I understand that you are hurt but this isn’t the way to move on from someone.” I tried to make excuses for him in my head but he used his other hand to lift up my night dress and quickly rest it onto my private part.
“Garret!” I almost screamed but then hushed myself since I didn’t want anyone to hear us and then blame me for letting him inside our house.
“Ayleen! Please, don’t stop me.” He begged, when I slapped his hand away. As I staggered up on my feet, he grabbed my waist from behind and pulled me back into his lap. I landed on his crotch and that’s when I realized how hard he was.
He instantly wrapped his arms over my bre***, squeezing them and kissing all over my neck from the back while I kept fighting him off.
“You---you said you---liked Ava,” I was getting angrier now, I wanted to scream for help but then I thought maybe the remainder of Ava will make him stop.
“I only wanted her as my wife, but you were always my choice to be f****** around with.” As his disrespectful words made their way into my ears, I realized what I have made myself look like when I let this bas**** in my life again.
