Chap.118*Bad Example*
Entry, 2013
"I do," I uttered, watching my groom, my high school sweetheart with a smile plastered across my lips.
"You may now kiss the bride." as the priest announced, Desmond bent ahead and gently kissed my lips. Nobody could ever imagine how happy I was at that moment. My husband was my everything, my life, my world and I'm pretty sure, that's how he felt about me as well.
He took me to the home that was specially built for us, the million dollars’ home that his sister had gifted us.
His parents died when Desmond was only 6 and his sister was 12, they were instantly taken in by their grandparents, who weren't very keen on taking care of them. It was his sister who started working from early on and even inherited the entire property of their parents when she turned 18.
She had kept Desmond her first priority and that's why she didn't spend her teenage life like other carefree teenagers. But she made sure she does everything in her power to give her brother the best life.
She worked hard and focused on Desmond, when he turned 18, she transferred all the inheritance to his name, again showing her love for her brother.
She was truly a selfless person, someone, who would go overseas to help her brother if it takes that it.
Desmond was also very fond of her; he had always looked at her as his mother. They shared a beautiful bond and honestly, I was very happy to be a part of such a perfect family.
I had adjusted in the mansion sooner than I thought I would as it was a complete change of environment for me. I went from someone, who had been living with her foster parents and getting verbally abused to someone, who was now a wife of a billionaire, who loved me unconditionally.
Her sister did everything for me, even arranging our honeymoon and setting the party dates for us.
I loved everything, enjoyed me an early month but then I started noticing that his sister's involvement in our life grew more.
She would constantly ask us when did we plan on getting pregnant or what are our plans for the next month as she wished to hang out with us.
It was slowly getting to my nerves as I didn't like anyone on my back all the time. I had my own friends and I wanted to spend more time with her but for some reason, his sister thought she was my friend: weird!
I wondered if she even had friends because of how clingy she was.
End of first entry.
I was surprised at what I've read so far. It seemed like a perfect relationship but why the hell was Ava so upset about Desmond's sister? She seemed like a nice person.
Who even builds an entire mansion as a gift for someone? Was Ava's behavior towards his sister the reason that he fell out of love with her?
I started reading it more and it seemed like it was only Ava, complaining about his sister nonstop.
Entry 2014
She is buying us clothes for the parties, designing outfits for us when I am not the type to go with somebody else's choice.
I'm getting infuriated with how clingy this woman is and Desmond is not very attentive to her creepiness.
Like today, I was speaking to my friends and she asked me why I haven't invited my friends over yet? Why would she want to know this?
The worst thing she did was to leave her 10-year-old daughter with me while she went out shopping, who even does that?
Her daughter is a silent kid, she doesn't really bother anyone but that doesn't mean she can stay over whenever she wants. This is my house now, I get to make decisions.
And now we have another upcoming party and she is not helping, she is again all up in my business.
I even tried speaking to Desmond, but he was so helpless.
"Your sister sent me this dress," I picked up the dress in my hand and showed it to Desmond, who watched my face and then the dress.
"This will look best on you." He smiled, making me roll my eyes at him. Like I didn't bother too much but this time I really wanted to style my own dress.
"It's good but I wanted to design my own dress this time," I replied to Desmond, who was busy in his files.
"Desmond!" I asked again and he finally watched my face with a straight line formed of his lips.
"Then pick your own, it's not a big deal," Desmond responded very coldly, not taking notice of it.
This is how the conversation went. I did call his sister and told her that I want to design my dress for this party and she said, yeah sure. Well if it was this fine that why did she even offer me a dress?
I am saving this conversation as a memory to one day tell Desmond the exact thing that happened before the party. I want him to know how much his coldness and his sister's nonstop attempting to stay in contact with me have traumatized me.
...
As I kept reading, my mind found Ava very bit*hy. Who even writes down a conversation just to make the other person feel bad later on?
I wondered what happened afterward. The car ride had gone silent with Cierra and Roy completely silent and Garret focusing on the road only.
I still craved to read the diary so I went on with it. And then I slowly started seeing these pictures in the diary that she had left inside. Those were wedding pictures, pictures of honeymoon, pictures of the memories that were once the best feeling ever.
My mind was baffled at the pictures I was seeing.
No! This was no possible. I quickly started shuffling through the pages and it all came back to me.
Flashback:
Year: 2014
"Desmond!" I reached his study where he was preparing the meeting for tomorrow and peeked inside to get his attention.
"Yes, love?" He responded with his back facing me. He was still on his laptop, doing his work.
"I heard that your sister is coming home again?" it had been months that she finally decided to stay in her home and not bother us so when I heard that she was visiting us, I got irritated once again.
"Yeah, why?" I noticed that he acknowledged the tiredness in my voice, he took his glasses down and turned around to look at me.
"Desmond, why can't she just stay in her home for more than a few months?" I knew the irritation in my voice had grabbed his attention because he lowered his face before raising his eyes again and glaring at me.
"Just because I love you doesn't mean I respect my sister any less now. I don't like the way you are talking about her." although his words sounded pretty harsh, he maintained his calm tone to not piss me off.
"I'll respect her too if she stops interfering in our life, Desmond." unlike him, I wasn't hesitant of raising my tone at him.
"Please leave me alone, I'm working." He turned his attention back at the laptop and ignored me. He freaking ignored me for his sister?
"Really?" I clenched my jaw, trying to calm myself down but my head was exploding in anger and I didn't care what he says, I was going to show him who he should listen to in this household.
I approached him to shut his laptop down by pressing random keys in anger.
"WHAT THE HECK IS WRONG WITH YOU? YOU SENT MY CLIENT A WRONG FILE." He suddenly got up on his feet and shouted, grasping the laptop away and quickly checking the email.
I didn't know he had his email address open.
"Argh!" he turned to me in anger and gritted his teeth, "GET THE F*** OUT OF HERE NOW." as he screamed at my face, my eyes wailed up.
Did he shout at me for a stupid email? Everything and everyone in his life was important but me?
I began crying immediately, "I'm leaving you." I announced, making a frown appear on his forehead.
"What?" He shook his head in disbelief, "just go back to your room, we will talk once we both cool down." He lowered his tone but the expression of frustration was still visible on his face.
"No! I'm leaving you," I announced once again very stubbornly.
