Chap.110*Killed*

“Ava! My son has nothing to do with this, please don’t hurt him.” I begged but she only scoffed and shook her head.

“He will live; he is my baby. But you--,” she smirked and I realized that Evan was standing right behind me now. I feared to even turn around and look at him, to face him. I lost everything because of my own stupidity, did I really think I was smarter than them?

I stayed behind in my room as Desmond wanted me to rest. I can't believe I fell asleep and he was the one to go and resolve the matter when he should have been resting too.

A cold blade pierced through my neck and my blood started soaking me, making my body to fall down while Evan stepped over me to go hug Ava.

“mjqfdqgfjuftg” I tried to speak but there was no time to talk anymore, it was too late.

“HAAAAA!”

“Ava?” I looked around, getting up in my bed and staring at Desmond, who was watching my face in shock.

“Calm down, it was just a nightmare.” He mumbled, Desmond had been sitting by my side, waiting for me to fell into a deep slumber so that he could go and talk to them. I was happy that it was only a nightmare. That made me understand how important it was for me to stay away from those toxic people, to keep my family safe from them and their poisonous claws.

I quickly stared at the clock and found out that I had only been asleep for 10 minutes and saw this deadly nightmare.

“Go back to sleep, they are waiting for me.” He announced very calmly, but with his eyes full of tears.

I woke up at Roy crying in the morning and after I was done feeding him and putting him back to sleep, I found Desmond missing.

Did he not come back at all?

I left the room in search of him and was instantly shaken up by the whimpers of someone. It was just like my nightmare.

“No!” I uttered in shock and fear, it shouldn’t be happening, my nightmare must not come true. I was shivering uncontrollably and praying for it all to be not true.

My heartbeat had raced inside my chest with my every step closer to the owner of the cries.

It was coming from Roy's playroom downstairs.

"Desmond?" I peeped inside and found him in a fetal position and sobbing uncontrollably.

"DESMOND!" his sight shook me up into sprinting closer to him and bending down on my knees beside him.

"What is going on? Why are you crying like this?" I had started to panic when he began to cry loudly.

"Why!" he was in a bad shape, his hair were a mess and his clothes all dirty.

"Tell me what happened?" I inquired again before my brain recalled what had happened last night, "You went to speak to them, what happened? Did they say something?" I have managed to make him raise his face and sit up. He had his back and head resting back against the wall while his legs were stretched out lifelessly.

"I can't lose you, Ayleen." He said with no emotions on his face but tears still streaming down mad crazy. My attention was at him now, why would he say that?

"Are they going to the cops?" Desmond must have sensed the fear in my voice because he swiftly looked at me with his eyelashes soaked with tears.

"No!" he responded very emotionless, "They can't anymore." he stated and then looked away.

"What do you mean by that?" I inquired in a lower tone, something big had happened and he wasn't telling me.

He parted his lips to heave a huge sigh of sadness and then got up, "I'll get some rest now." without looking behind at me, he exit the room.

I followed him to the out but he was walking upstairs, which wasn't my destination. I left for the patio umbrella and found the garden squeaky clean, even their car was gone.

"What did you do Desmond?" I was slightly quizzical about him sorting things out with them.

He eventually woke up after hours of nap and came straight downstairs to sit in front of me on the couch while I watched Roy playing on the floor.

"I've hired a new cook, who will be replacing Mrs. Brown." He uttered without breaking the stare from my face.

"Oh okay!" I responded very calmly.

I didn't want to ask him about Mrs. Brown any more questions, I knew he was hurt now that she was no longer working for us.

"So, I was thinking about meeting my sisters." I smiled at the memory of them. I can't even imagine how happy they will be to know about how my life has taken turns and now stopped at such a happy ending.

Desmond silently stared at my face with no expressions.

"Desmond?" I shyly asked, tucking strands of hair behind my ear.

"You look so happy," he mumbled, but it wasn't a compliment or something he looked happy for, he rather looked judgmental.

"Desmond, is there a problem with me being happy?" my mood suddenly changed and I stared at him blankly, with the eyes that were enough to show my discomfort with his statement.

"No! I didn't say that. I'm happy that you are happy." He lied, the way he looked away from me and sighed out of frustration, I knew he was lying.

"If you are upset that now your favorite people can't come back here then listen to this, I truly am happy about it." I spoke back to him and then focused on Roy.

"You didn't even respond to my desire of meeting my sisters." I didn't raise my face again to look at him. He had upset me enough with his carelessness towards the severity of this entire situation. He should have been the one to make sure those three never come back but instead I had to take a step.

"I was just wondering who will be the next, are you going to kick me out as well?" the fact that he brought it up again made me even madder.

Why was he so obsessed with them? He clearly knew how messed up Ava was but now he was standing against me for her?

"Desmond, if that's how you think of me then fine, you stay here, I'll leave." I staggered up on my feet and picked up Roy with tear-filled eyes. It broke my heart to see Desmond being so negative towards me.

"No! This is not what I meant." He quickly got up and held my arm, "Okay! I'm sorry. I was just afraid that you will start doubting me as well." I could see tears in his eyes. Why was he so upset about this entire situation?

"You haven't responded to me about my desire of meeting my sisters." I repeated again, trying to change the subject. I don't know what Evan and Ava told her last night but I'm sure he was devastated and heart broken, I didn't want to make him feel sadder so it was in my best interest to change the subject.

"Umm! I'll do something about it." He replied, taking Roy from me.

"Like what? It's not like we have to worry about anyone anymore." even I could sense the hint of stubbornness in my voice.

"I'll book a flight for them." He responded whilst making our son his entire attention.

"Let me know when you do." I added and smiled at him to comfort him.

He needed a distraction to get away from losing his friends and I had a perfect distraction planned for him.
