"What happened? Where did you guys go?” Jasmine asked Liam as the group quickly bustled through the hotel.
Putting up his hand, he silenced her. "Explain in a minute, the brains working today.”
Moving through the succubi, he targeted Samantha’s s room. Samantha’s eyes darted around as she realized all of the women’s attention was on the purple-haired seer who walked closely behind her. She growled. "PUT IT ON ICE LADIES, WE HAVE MORE IMPORTANT THINGS TO WORRY ABOUT.”
Locking eyes with one of the succubi who was practically drooling over him, Calchas smirked and extended his hand. "My name is Calchas and you are?”
"D-Daphne” she responded immediately blushing as she took his hand and shook it.
"Very beautiful name. Daphne, would you like to do me a small favor?” Eyes wide, Daphne quickly nodded yes and Calchas grinned at her. "Perfect. Would you mind letting everyone know that though she says she doesn’t want me, the reason why Samantha is currently burning a hole in your head with her eyes is that I’m hers. Don’t want any of you to end up a knickknack or anything else she might turn you into.”
Samantha fumed silently at his words, her anger rising. The bewildered looks on the succubi faces made her feel both embarrassed and exposed. She quickly wiped a tear from her face "Asshole” she seethed before darting towards her room to find Liam and the others. Entering her room, Samantha watched in horror as Liam tore through her books.
"Where the hell is it?!” He grumbled feverishly.
"Maybe if you tell me what you’re looking for, I can tell you where it is and you can stop tearing apart my room,” Samantha said to him, causing Liam to finally stop.
Exasperation on his face, he snapped his fingers at her. 'YOU HAD IT THE DAY YOU ZAPPED NOAH! T-the book with the big ass star on it!”
Recognition framed her face, and Samantha waved her hand producing a green book with a large gold star on it. Liam jumped up and down and took it from her. Flipping through it, he mumbled continuously. "History….jumbled history…star…star…HERE!” He said finally placing the book down,
Taking the book, Samantha arched her brow. "Okay…it’s the history of the other world. We already know this stuff…”
"NO! We know what’s on the surface.” Liam licked his lips and scanned the pages. "You’ve must have read this book a thousand times so you know that nowhere does it say that Lilith was supposed to get with royal incubus, but she was. It talks about us, but it says that Noah killed people and destroyed our home so why doesn’t it say anything about the fact that we came here with you all? Why were we the only four tricked into thinking we’re human?”
Seeing their confusion grow, Liam let out a growl and pointed to the large star on the front of the book. "Rubicon-every man’s FANTASY, fairy cocaine that put us in a kinda TRANCE, Katrina being Melanie and not Sams real wife…all LIES and PRETEND all leading us to prophecies, dreams, a fucking SEER, and a magical book about us with a BIG ASS STAR ON IT- Commmeee onnnn Mason see the fucking pattern because you’re the genius and I KNOW I’m not crazy.”
After a moment, Mason’s eyes widened. "Holy fuck…all illusions…all leading us to different guides to help us-”
"WAKE THE FUCK UP!” Liam shouted almost crying tears of joy. Pointing at Calchas Liam's hand shook in excitement. "Barney said it. Book that has been protected by magic keeps the things others want HIDDEN. If everything else around us is illusions, why wouldn’t this book about our history be too?! IT’S THE LOOPHOLE GLARING US IN THE FACE! We need to figure out how to break the magical illusion put on this book to get our memories back.”
Calchas clapped his hands. "You were right. The brain is working today!” Turning, he nudged Samantha. "Wanna wake up the book and let everyone get their memories back? After all, it was you who hexed it in the first place.”
"W-what?” Lilith questioned staring at her.
"I-I didn’t. I don’t know what he’s-“ Samantha stumbled out before her face paled. Staring at the star on the cover, she tilted her head remembering Calchas words. "MUCH MORE royal…five points…” She looked up to Calchas who handed her a knife in knowing. Pricking each brother Samantha rubbed each bloodied finger against one point of the star. Standing in front of Lilith, her eyes teared. "I don’t know why I hexed the book, but I do know I would never betray you…I hope you know that too.”
Lilith gave her a small smile and allowed her to prick her finger. "I trust you Sam. Let’s just see what’s this all about.” She rubbed her finger on the last point and the star began to glow.
Absorbing the blood into its pages, the book opened to the front page. The words jumbled and slowly changed in front of them. Lilith covered her mouth as she read the new words. “Let this book serve as a final guide in retaining all true accounts of what once the history of Crystalgrave was. One of the multiple realms governed by the succubus queen and the four royal Incubus. Let their blood unlock the secrets of this book and why they and those around them were made to forget. As bound by the knowledge of a seer, and the magic and love of his sorceress and succubus partners. May these records serve as guidance for the dangers to come.”
Samantha felt the hair on her neck stand on edge. She whispered low ”Chasity…me….-“
"And me…you aren’t the only one grieving honey.” Calchas said behind her.
