Chapter 45 The Power of Enchantment

Having wet dreams seven or eight times in one night—who could handle that? The real problem was, that stuff can't be controlled when asleep.

No wonder the guy looked like he was about to keel over. If this kept up, he'd be totally wiped out in a week.

Alicia grinned as she wiped the water off the back of my head, taking a moment to glance down at the guy.

Bruno had a wry smile too. He probably hadn't heard of anything like this in all his years.

He asked the guy straight up, "Have you noticed anything weird lately?"

The man shook his head, "No, I'm at the construction site all day and nowhere else. Nothing out of the ordinary has occurred."

Bruno nodded and turned to me, "Dennis, this is new to me. Should I take the lead?"

Seeing his interest, I replied, "Mr. Caldwell, please go ahead. I'll learn from you."

Bruno didn't hesitate and had the guy extend his left arm. Using the "Astrological Pulse Mapping" technique, he moved his fingers with a speed and precision that even Gabriel couldn't match. After a few moments, his expression suddenly froze, and he pulled his fingers back.

Lorenzo and I were both shocked. What had Bruno discovered?

Bruno gave the guy a meaningful look and then turned to me, "Dennis, you give it a try."

I nodded and squinted at the guy, but I didn't notice anything unusual about him.

Opting to wield the Sunstrike, I sketched a seven-star pattern in the air. To my amazement, the Sunstrike merely quivered briefly before stilling!

I was puzzled, furrowing my brows as I placed my hand on the guy's wrist.

The instant my fingers made contact with his skin, a bone-chilling cold surged to my forehead, causing me to recoil instinctively as if shocked!

The last time I felt this was when I touched the Cancer Twin-Eared Cup!

Could it be that this guy had one of the twenty-four Zodiac Spirit Treasures?

I was instantly excited and glanced at Lorenzo.

Bruno asked me, "Dennis, got any ideas?"

"Mr. Caldwell, for now... I can't think of any good solutions. What about you?"

Bruno stroked his beard, "I suspect the guest might be affected by Hexwaft."

"Hexwaft?"

I was taken aback. Hexwaft was a type of Sinwaft, but it was more powerful and sometimes carried residual magnetic fields from its original owner.

"Do you have a solution?" I asked.

Gabriel sneered, "If my grandfather can identify it, he naturally has a solution, unlike you who couldn't even recognize it."

Bruno didn't say anything at first, but after thinking for a bit, he shook his head slightly, "There's a way, but it's not very reliable. Dennis, got any ideas?"

I shook my head in frustration. Dealing with a potent Hexwaft like this was no easy task. Lorenzo had once taught me techniques such as the Soulstar Ritual, which entailed inserting seven Starflow Needles into the body's seven stars to expel the Hexwaft. However, this method required considerable expertise and carried the risk of unintended consequences.

Alternatively, one could seek a potent spirit treasure to consume the Hexwaft, but such treasures were exceedingly rare and challenging to come by.

Thinking about it, there really wasn't a particularly good solution.

Gabriel looked eager to try, and I guessed he might know how to use the Soulstar Ritual and wanted to show off in front of me.

But Bruno wouldn't easily agree. If something went wrong with this method, the consequences would be disastrous.

The room fell into an awkward silence.

Lorenzo suddenly nudged me. I turned to look at him and saw him take out a small package from his backpack and hand it to me.

I was stunned for a moment, then recognized it as the package containing the Cancer Twin-Eared Cup.

Well, Lorenzo had speculated based on what happened at Ronald's house that the Cancer Twin-Eared Cup might have the ability to capture souls!

This matched the Hexwaft in the guy's body perfectly!

However, the challenge lay in activating the Cancer Twin-Eared Cup. The last time I had touched it, I experienced some adverse effects, let alone attempting to activate it.

Lorenzo whispered in my ear, "Actually, I'm not very confident either, but I believe that such a powerful treasure often doesn't require complicated techniques to use. You can try it with the most ordinary method."

I felt a bit bitter inside. Lorenzo was using me as a guinea pig!

Oh well, since Lorenzo said so, he should have a backup plan if something went wrong.

With that in mind, I took the package containing the Cancer Twin-Eared Cup without opening it and stood in front of the guy.

"Dennis, what is this?" Bruno asked, seeing my serious expression and the package in my hand.

I smiled, "This is a little gadget my dad left me, similar to a Bloodstone. I'll see if it works."

Bruno stood aside with interest. However, I had no confidence.

I thought for a moment and then held the package in my left hand in front of the guy's forehead. With my right hand, I reached into the package and drew a seven-star mark on the Cancer Twin-Eared Cup, then lightly tapped the star on the top of the spoon!

In an instant, the bone-chilling cold rushed through my body, circled around, and then shot straight towards the guy's face!
