Chapter 40.

The demon rushed into the event with the rest of them asleep.

‘ vroom ’, the demons ran through the forest in superspeed, breaking branches on their way in.

A loud ‘ flinch could be heard dashing through the environment.

Elvis tilt up his head and looks around.

He stood still for a while before falling into his blossom of slumber.

Hope was busy turning around as he was trying to have a little shut eye.

‘ hey, can you hear that ’, Alon said.

Hope holds a facial sneer as he waves his hand, ‘ yeah, it's just the wind nothing serious ’, In a low tone.

He rolls to a better position and closed his eyes while Alon was finding it difficult to sleep, knowing that the woods could not be trusted not even the air he breaths nor the ground he lay on.

A loud sound occurred drawing Alon's attention.

He moves his head forward in shock.

‘ what the hell is that ’, he voiced out in his low voice.

He slowly walks up to the direction he heard the sound.

He paused and remained mute when he stood at the location.

He slowly reaches for the bush and suddenly he sensed movement and he looks away only to discover that the figure had dashed away from it's location.

‘ something is worried here, am gonna solve this situation before things gets worst ’, he said to himself.

While Ino and Rishi were also finding it difficult to sleep, One was just sitting duck while Rishi was slowly dosing off as usual.

He knocks Rishi on the head as he was about sloping.

‘ what do you think you are doing, trying to get us killed or what ’, in an aggressive tone.

‘ aww, why did you have to hit me so hard, don't you know I can practically die from it, huh ’, Rishi replied.

He sneers, ‘ I don't give a damn about your conditions, the only thing I care about is staying alive, so if you think am a dumass waiting to be killed, then you leave me no choice ’, he ends it with a smirk.

‘ what the hell are you gonna do huh, slap me or what, ooh, I know, kill me ’, in a high tone.

He turns around, ‘ what do you mean ’, he asked.

Rishi giggles, ‘ you think I would not figure it out, you were sent to kill me or even worst monitor me, do you really think am such a fool or what ’, he asked.

One becomes short of words, ‘ bring your voice down, they might hear us ’.

‘ ooh, now you are begging me to bring my voice down huh, knowing that we are all gonna die or what, you know what ’.

He walks out on him, ‘ am done with the night hawks, I know that was also in your contract, to kill me when I mess up and you know what, you have won that contract ’, he turns his back at One and walks away from him.

He stopped and kept quiet for a while as One stares at him and was about walking up to him, ‘ let me tell you something you do not know ’, One stops, ‘ he will surely wanna kill you too like he send you to kill me but I can only wish you good luck, happy living as he will also have it in mind one day to kill you ’, he said.

‘ you should better enjoy it while it last because this might be your last ’, He walks away from One.

As he slowly exit the scene, One had thoughts running through his mind like, “ how did he know ”, and “ who told him that I was gonna kill him ”, but the only person who was the position to answer those questions was actually himself.

He looks disappointed at himself because he was already doing well with him and now he is gone no body knows what might actually happen to him.

He draws a sad and worried look on his face, ‘ I can not just imagine this event playing in my mind over and over again, I have fucked up big time and I feel disappointed at myself for my foolish act, I now see the full meaning of life, now that it has thought me a lesson ’, he said to himself with a sadistic look on his face.

He was just busy looking around as he was also looking disappointed at himself, he tries reaching out to him but he had already gone too far for his reach.

‘ hum... ’, he let out a loud humming.

Hope slowly opens his eyes and realize that Alon is gone, he looks around but finds it difficult to see him because it was already dark and the moon light could not easily penetrate through the forest.

He immediately took his sword and ran into the forest in search of Alon

‘ Alon, Alon ’, he yelled while working to and fro in destress.

‘ where the hell could this kid be ’, he thought to himself only to hear a disturbing sound coming from a bush close to him.

‘ Alon, is that you ’, he said as he slowly reaches for the bush and opens it, only to discover a wild bunny hiding from the terror of the darkness.

‘ am sorry if I bothered you ‘, he stares at the bunny as the bunny shuddered and sounds out, drawing his attention.

He turns his back only to discover the the figure scary the bunny was Alon.

His palm was cold as he touches Hope on his shoulder.

‘ hey ’, he stammers.

Hope jumps up on his feet, ‘ who the hell are you ’, he yelled in fear.

‘ calm down, it's just me, Alon ’.

‘ what are you doing here, I was really scared while looking for you, I thought you were killed or something, please don't do that again, I all most lost it bro ’, Hope exclaimed.

Alon looks weird and definitely behaves weird.

‘ ok.., I wanna show you what I found, you would not believe it with your eyes, when I first found it I was really scared ’, Alon said.

Hope looks suspicious, ‘ and what is that stuff you really wanna show me ’, he asked.

He points to a deep part in the woods.

‘ it's right there, I found something that you would not believe with your own eyes even though you see it ’.

Hope noticed something fishy, he knows that Alon is not that of a discovery guy, he also knows that something was up with him as he tries to force Hope to follow him up to the woods.

‘ trust me, I love what my eyes showed me and I want everybody eyes to be on it to, are you getting my point ’, Alon asked.

He nods his head even though he does not understand a thing coming out from his gutter mouth.

‘ yeah, let's go and see your stuff you wanted to show me ’, Hope said.

They both walked into the woods with no visibility of where they were walking to.

‘ here we are at my grid ’, Alon said.

As Hope heard he immediately unsheathe his sword and was about driving it for his neck when Alon held him back.

It turns out that the Alon was a fake, he was just a demon who looked like him.

He contracts tentacles from his body and hangs Hope off balance.

‘ who the hell are you and what do you want from me ’, Hope asked.

The demon looks at him and uses his curl tongue to lick his face accompanied with a smirk.

‘ you know what, that was what your friend also told me today, this exact words dashed out from his mouth, he had that stink eye on me and I never loved eyes like that but I loved eating them ’, the demon replied.

Hope was shocked to hear it, ‘ what !, you eat eyes, I can't believe it’.

Hope then remembered when the demon was talking about their eyes seeing something that they would not forget.

He kicks the demon and the demon loosen his grip on him.

He unsheathes his sword and dashed for the demon with his head held high.

‘ pow ’, he uses his knee to hit the demon on his mouth, causing him to loss some teeth for the road.

He lands and slides his feet.

‘ what did you do that for ’, the demon yelled.

‘ to teach you a lesson and I have not yet started, this is just the beginning of what is yet to come so just sit tight and relax for the show because today is gonna be a long night for me and you ’.
