Chapter 45 Necklace Sold?

Chapter 45 Necklace Sold?

Marigold frowned and said, "It's all because of Cordelia. When she came back and saw her stuff thrown out, she went crazy. Your dad had no choice but to give her ten million dollars to move out."

"What, ten million dollars!"

Julie held up her fingers in disbelief. "That much? Isn't that just robbery?"

"So much money, just handed over like that. She actually dared to take it. No way, where is she? I need to find her and get that money back."

Seeing Julie about to rush out to confront Cordelia, Marigold grabbed her arm. "She took the money and left already. Where are you going to find her?"

Julie was furious. That was ten million dollars! Jack had never given her that much at once. What right did Cordelia have to get so much money so easily?

Thinking of this, she complained to Marigold, "Mom, why didn't you stop Dad?"

Marigold said helplessly, "I tried, but I couldn't stop him. Besides, you know Cordelia's temper. If we didn't give her the money, she really would have trashed the house."

Marigold waved her hand dismissively. "Just think of it as paying to get rid of trouble. At least she won't be hanging around in front of us anymore."

Seeing Marigold compromise so easily made Julie even angrier.

In her view, everything the Fox family owned would be hers eventually. But now Cordelia had become the company's major shareholder, and the family's money was being extorted bit by bit by Cordelia. Who could stand this?

Julie glanced at Marigold, who just kept going on about paying for peace. She knew she could only rely on herself in this matter.

Thinking of this, a cold look appeared on her face. She couldn't wait to go settle accounts with Cordelia!

After Marigold spent a long time calming Julie down, she finally went downstairs. As soon as she left, Julie picked up her phone and called Ryan.

When Ryan saw Julie's call, his mind was flooded with thoughts. He let the phone ring but didn't answer.

Last night, he and Julie had slept together.

This morning when Ryan woke up and saw Julie beside him, he felt a moment of panic, but that panic instantly vanished when Julie took the initiative again.

After another intense session of sex, they finally parted ways.

Ryan spent the whole day in a daze. Part of him thought about Cordelia, but remembering Julie's tempting body made his whole body burn with desire he couldn't suppress. He knew this wasn't right. He planned to explain things clearly to Cordelia later, even if he had to beg for her forgiveness.

By evening, Ryan's mood had improved somewhat when Julie called again.

"Ryan, what are you doing? Why aren't you answering your phone?"

Julie's coquettish voice came through the phone.

Ryan frowned. "I'm about to attend a business dinner with Uncle Raymond. What's up?"

Seeing he had business to attend to, Julie didn't dare to press further. "Nothing much, I just wanted to let you know that Mom has prepared a new bedroom for me. Come visit my room sometime when you're free."

Ryan was obviously relieved. "Really? Then you can get a good night's sleep tonight."

"But I still want to sleep with you."

After Julie said this shyly, she didn't hear the response she wanted.

"Uncle Raymond is here, I have to go."

"You—"

Julie was about to say something more when she heard the dial tone. The call had already ended.

She angrily threw her phone onto the nightstand and huffed as she burrowed into the covers.

After leaving The Fox Villa, Cordelia lived alone in an apartment at Starlight Heights.

Without annoying people around, even the air felt fresh. When she woke up in the morning, she found the necklace she had taken from the Fox family, feeling grateful that she had retrieved it early.

After getting up, Cordelia took the necklace to a luxury consignment shop. By coincidence, she was spotted by Ryan, who happened to be nearby.

As soon as he saw Cordelia, he became excited. In such a big city, they met here—this must be fate's guidance, right?

Thinking this, Ryan followed her in without hesitation.

Once inside, his eyes quickly locked onto Cordelia. He saw her take out a jewelry box from her bag and start talking with the clerk, clearly wanting to sell the jewelry. Seeing this, Ryan couldn't help but walk over.

"Cordelia."

When Cordelia saw it was him, she cursed her bad luck and frowned in displeasure. "What are you doing here?"

Ryan quickly said, "I happened to see you nearby, so I followed to check on you."

"What are you following me for? Can't you see I'm busy?"

Cordelia almost rolled her eyes and said to him, "Alright, if there's nothing else, please leave."

Just as Cordelia finished speaking, the clerk spoke up. "Miss, the necklace has been authenticated. This way, please."

Seeing Cordelia about to leave, Ryan quickly stopped her. "Cordelia, are you short on money? If you need money, just tell me."

Hearing this, Cordelia laughed. She crossed her arms and looked at Ryan. "So rich, huh? Then lend me a billion dollars first."

Hearing this, Ryan froze in place. Seeing him like this, Cordelia sneered and turned to leave.

Seeing Cordelia walk away, Ryan snapped back to reality. He quickly chased after her. "Cordelia, did you run into some trouble? I don't have a billion dollars, but I do have tens of millions. Wait, I'll transfer it to you right now."

Just as Ryan finished speaking, the clerk came over and handed her a card. "Ms. Fox, everything is processed. There's one hundred twenty million dollars in the card. Please keep it safe."

Seeing Cordelia casually sell a necklace for one hundred twenty million dollars, Ryan instantly felt that his offer of tens of millions was a complete joke.

He craned his neck to look at the necklace and muttered, "What kind of necklace did you sell that's so expensive?"

"The Fox family's heirloom necklace."

Cordelia said this nonchalantly as she walked out. Ryan behind her was stunned. "The Fox family's heirloom necklace—you sold it? Won't your parents kill you for this?"
