Hearing this, Gary boiled with rage. He grabbed his crutch and threw it at Cristofer with all his strength. “Bastard! You are a total bastard!”
Cristofer stood his ground without flinching, remaining silent. Without hesitation, the crutch struck him directly on the forehead, instantly causing his forehead to turn red and swell.
Seeing Gary turn paler and frown in pain, Luke immediately shouts for help, “Dr. Smith! Dr. Smith, come here quickly!”
The next moment, Dr. Smith, in the doctor’s overall, rushed into the room with several of his assistants.
After checking up on Gary, he said with a darkened face, “I’ve told you that he can’t be irritated anymore. Why did you... Uncle Luke, call an ambulance. We must send Old Mr. Hans to the hospital for further treatment now.”
“Okay, okay...”
“It will be a long time before the ambulance comes. We can’t wait till then,” Estelle said as she stopped Luke and turned to Cristofer. “Drive Grandpa to the hospital now.”
Cristofer nodded and then rushed out to get the car ready.
“Dr. Smith, please go to the hospital with Grandpa and tell the doctor about his condition to save time for examination.”
“Okay!”
“Uncle Luke, I will send Grandpa to the hospital with Dr. Smith first. Please pack up some daily necessities for Grandpa and then send them to the hospital later.”
“Okay, Estelle.”
Estelle then helped Gary out of the house with Dr. Smith and his assistants.
On the way to the hospital, everyone was silent.
Soon, they arrived at the hospital, and Gary was taken to the emergency room.
Dr. Smith talked to the doctor about Gary’s condition while Cristofer and Estelle waited helplessly outside the emergency room.
Leaning against the wall, Cristofer closed his eyes with a weary look and said to Estelle, “Thank you for helping me today.”
“Do you have to marry Gretchen?” Estelle asked.
“Yes.”
“Do you love her so much?”
“I... I must marry her,” Cirris didn’t give her the answer she wanted. He said this sentence many times today.
Then he opened his eyes and turned to gaze at Estelle with pleading eyes.
“I know what you are going to say,” Estelle said. “But I’m under no obligation to help you anymore. Cristofer, I have done all that I can for you.”
After saying that, Estelle left.
Now that Gary had been brought to the hospital, the doctors would save him, and the nurses would take good care of him. Besides, Cristofer would handle everything, so she did not need to stay here.
Estelle wasn’t distant and unfeeling. She recognized that Gary treated her well, and she planned to bring the children to see him often in the coming days.
Estelle simply believed it was best to avoid seeing Gary for now, as he would try to convince her to reconcile with Cristofer.
Estelle and Cristofer had already gone through a divorce, and it was not feasible for them to rekindle their relationship.
Estelle understood that Cristofer desired her to pretend that their divorce never happened when around Gary. However, she had no intention of deceiving Gary, so she declined Cristofer's request and left.
As soon as Estelle left the hospital, a message from Mr. Mysterious came.

Upon reading the message, Estelle felt a comforting warmth in her heart. Mr. Mysterious had a remarkable ability to console her during times of sadness.
Then she replied, ‘I’m not. I just feel a little sorry for Grandpa Gary. He is a good man and treats me well. But unfortunately, I can’t fulfill his wish.’
‘Actually... As long as you want, you can still be his granddaughter-in-law. After all, I’m also Gary’s grandson.’
‘Sir, are you proposing to me?’
‘Estelle, a long-lasting marriage can’t be maintained only with the marriage certificate. What I want is to be with you forever.’
Then Estelle thought, ‘Mr. Mysterious is right. Sometimes, the marriage certificate is meaningless for two people that don’t love each other, such as Cristofer and I. We got the marriage certificate, but our marriage still ended in divorce. The most important thing to maintain a marriage is not the marriage certificate but love.’
‘Sir, how are things going with you?’ Estelle texted him back.

Estelle took a deep breath and typed. ‘I want to take back the Hudson Group.’
‘Okay.’
‘Sir, I want to get it back alone.’
‘You don’t need my help?’
‘York pocketed the fruits of my father’s painstaking efforts. I want to get them back on my own.’
‘I see.’
‘Sir, will you go home for dinner tonight?’

Estelle nodded and inquired, “Do you know when Mr. Mysterious will return home?”

“Estelle? Why are you here? How did you come in? How dare the servant let you in without my permission?!” She snapped in anger while spitting out the water from her mouth.
Her hair and upper body were wet at the moment, making her look like a soaked rat.
