Estelle had shown her attitude clearly. She just took James as her good friend and didn’t want to have any romantic relationship with him.
With a wry smile, James said, “I don’t have a girlfriend yet. And this car doesn’t have a hostess.”
“You’ll have one sooner or later,” Estelle said. “Mr. Harris, I’ve thought it over. Now that Yohan has returned, I’d better not trouble you with caring for him anymore.”
Hearing this, James was a little surprised. “Are you going to raise Yohan in person? You are still in poor health now.”
Estelle said, “Up till now, there are no signs of cancer cell metastasis. And I’m recovering well and have felt much better recently. I haven’t stayed with Yohan for much time since he was born, and I always feel that I owe him a lot, so I want to spend more time with him.”
James nodded and said, “I can understand your feelings. But it won’t be easy for you to take care of two children.”
“I will try my best.”
“Although you look totally different in terms of your appearance, you’re still the stubborn and unyielding Estelle you used to be,” James said with a helpless smile.
“Stubborn and unyielding?”
“Yes,” James said. “Estelle, you don’t have to push yourself so hard. I’ve never seen one so cruel to oneself like you.”
The latter sentence was somewhat familiar, and Estelle felt that she seemed to have heard it before.
Then she remembered that one year ago, the doctor who gave her the ovulation induction injection said the same words.
‘Fate always makes fools of me. It lets me suffer from cancer and extinguishes the hope in my life. But when I lost everything and thought that I would die soon, it made me survive, and now I’m getting better and better day by day.’
Thinking of this, Estelle chuckled helplessly.
“What are you laughing at?” James asked.
Estelle said, “Nothing. I just think that life is full of uncertainty and ridiculousness.”
“Your words are full of philosophy. It seems that you are not only an artist in jewelry design but also a philosopher in life,” James said with a gentle smile.
Hearing this, Estelle shook her head and said, “What I said has nothing to do with philosophy.”
“Then what does it have to do with?”
“My life experience,” Estelle said. “If you experienced the same thing as I did, you would know my feelings.”
Half an hour later, the car stopped at the Hilton Hotel gate, located in the west of the city.
James got out of the car first and gently opened the rear door for Estelle. And he considerately put his hand above her head to protect her head from hitting the door frame.
“Thank you,” Estelle said.
“You’re welcome. Gentlemen are supposed to take care of ladies,” James said. Then he asked the doorman to park his car and handed him the car key.
The doorman seemed to be a newcomer. When he started the car, he stepped on the accelerator directly without looking around. The next moment, the car rushed towards Estelle at a fast speed.
“Watch out!”
“Ah!”
The pedestrians and the security guards at the gate were frightened, and they shouted.
Before Estelle could react, James held her in his arms and fell to the ground.
She held Yvonne tightly in her arms to protect her and could imagine the pain when her body hit the ground hard.
However, when she fell to the ground, she didn’t feel any pain.
Then she found that James was lying under her, and his face turned pale in pain. “Mr. Harris.”
The people around rushed over and helped the two of them up.
“Are you all right, Sir?”
“Are you okay?”
The doorman, who had stopped the car, quickly ran over and apologized, “I’m sorry. Are you alright? I’m so sorry. Today is my first working day here. Please don’t tell the manager about it, or I will be fired.”
When James was helped up, he immediately looked at Estelle and asked with concern, “Estelle, are you okay?”

“My arm hurts. I banged it on the ground just now.” James said, frowning tightly in pain.
Estelle took his arm gently and said anxiously, “Let’s go to the hospital now.”
Before James could say anything, a familiar voice came from not far away.
“What are you doing?”
The next moment, a tall figure forged through the crowd and walked over.
He pushed James away, glared at him, and said, “Oh, it’s you, Mr. Harris. What are you doing here? As a lawyer, don’t you know it’s immoral to have an affair with your client?”
Estelle was surprised when she saw Cristofer. She stepped forward and asked in a cold voice, “Cristofer, why are you here?”
“Why can’t I be here?” Cristofer said and stared at her with his eyes full of anger. “I didn’t expect you two to come here to date.”
“I have often told you that Mr. Harris is just my friend!” Estelle said angrily.
“Really? Then why did you two come to the hotel together?”
“Cristofer, can you be reasonable and rational for once? I came to the hotel together with James doesn’t mean that we had an affair! If I had an affair with him, I wouldn’t have brought Yvonne with me here! Am I so shameless in your eyes?”
Cristofer, who had been arrogant and angry just now, was silenced and was lost for words.
After a few seconds, he took a deep breath and said, “Estelle, I didn’t mean that.”
“Then what do you mean?” Estelle interrupted him and said coldly.
“I just...”
“You were following me?” Estelle asked and looked around and then saw his Porsche parked not far away. “Or are you here to date someone, Mr. Hans?”
Somehow, seeing Estelle like this, Cristofer felt a little aggrieved.
“I just want to know who Mr. Mysterious is. Previously, I thought that Mr. Mysterious was Justin and you’ve been together with him. But just now in the hospital, when I saw you get into this man’s car, I thought that I was mistaken... so I followed you here,” he said in a low voice.
As they talked, more and more people gathered at the gate of the hotel.
Estelle didn’t want to be the topic of others’ conversation. Nor did she want to be watched by so many people, so she quickly said, “Excuse me. I have something to do. Stop following me.”
