Chapter 26:- A New Sunrise.
Tears spilled my eyes as I saw my parents approaching me with a huge smile that I was longing to see on their faces. Her tears fell on my cheek as my mother kissed my bandaged forehead.
I held my parents' gaze a little longer only to find them shining with love and peace. If they're happy then I'm happier than any, even if I'd to forget my condition for that. I need to keep my faith intact, for them and for her.
"Mo... mom, I am fi... fine." She smiled brighter as I spoke those broken words. Yes, I could speak though the words are unclear and I stammer a lot but I need to think about the brighter part. Atleast I can speak.
"You will be perfect very soon bud . Just a little more. Okay?" My optimistic dad whispered caressing my head that was wrapped with a thick bandage. Well I lost my hair too and I really wanted to complain about it to him. We share this craze for our hair that irritates mom the most but we enjoy it nonetheless.
"An.. nd my h.. air to.. o." This made my dad chortle and we tried ignoring the eye-rolling of our Mother India. I wish I could give him one hi-five. And I know very soon I will be able to.
"I think Ahaana, our time is up now. Our son wants to meet his girl. Isn't it Ammy?" My dad tried teasing me and I immediately blinked my eyes to convey my yes. I was longing to see my girl, my Khwaab.
"Hey!" My eyes flew open as I heard her soft voice. I smiled the widest seeing her so close. I wish I could embrace her and never let her go.
"Miss... miss.. ed me?" She shook her head in negative with a mischievous smile. "I'd someone to give me company." She shared with a bright smile and I frowned. I tried thinking if she knew anyone here. Did Rahul come here to give her company? No. He must be in Bangalore. Wait! Is she trying to make me jealous?
Not a good idea Ms. Talwar. I simply ignored her impish smile and closed my eyes. "Aye monster! Are you trying to ignore me?" She poked my cheek but I stayed still.
"Say something." She again poked me and I puckered my lips in response. "Okay fine if you want to rest than I'll spend some time with him only. Atleast he doesn't ignore me nor makes me wait for days together."
I immediately opened my eyes and glared at her hard and that girl had the guts to laugh at me. "Aww Armaan! You are jealous. I was talking about this, Mr. Meanie. Remember I gave you this because you are scared of lizards." She showed me a blue colored soft toy that looks like a monster.
Ofcourse I do. And I just hate lizards, I'm not scared of them. Though I was embarrassed by the way she played with me but I won't talk to her. That's her punishment.
"And now don't say that you just hate them." She deadpanned. I narrowed my eyes at her. Has she fitted some chip in my mind that she gets to know what I think.
Damn you Talwar!
"Go." I mouthed with a sullen face. I was so excited to meet her and look at her, she is in a teasing mode.
"Can you imagine how much I missed you Armaan Malik? This toy is not as cute as my personal monster.” She professed staring right through me, my face was in her hands.
Please someone tell me how do I stay angry at this little minion of mine? I pursed my lips but she was one stubborn girl.
"Aa.. aah.. I can see a smile coming." She pointed out at my face and I couldn't keep my lips straight anymore.
"I... lo.. love you." I whispered to her and a tear slide down her cheek.
"I never knew if I would be able to hear it ever again. I love you too and you'll be perfectly fine." She pecked my chin and I blinked my eyes.
For that smile, I will.
