Chapter 46 Sinking
Chapter 46 Sinking
LUCIEN
I was sinking.
I was falling faster and deeper than expected. I thought fucking her a few more times would help eradicate the thoughts of her, but it only increased whatever turmoil I was having within me. A second apart from Sienna felt like the world was coming to an end. I wanted her around me, in my grasp, in my hold. Everywhere.
I’d tried to stop it. Tried to stop my heart from racing whenever she walked into my office. Tried to stop myself from smiling whenever I secretly watched her work, but everything failed. She had successfully captured a part of me I never thought existed.
That night wasn’t my first time having a one-night stand. It wasn’t my first time getting involved with a broken woman who just wanted to be fucked until she forgot about her predicament, but she was different. It was as though an encounter with her destroyed all the urges I’d always had. I was stuck. The more I tasted her, the more addicted I became.
Now, I am afraid I won’t be able to let her go again. She put me into this mess, and letting her slip away from me was not an option anymore.
I’d just fucked her minutes ago, but having her naked, smooth skin collide with mine just made my groin hard again.
I hissed, biting my bottom lip. She didn’t just have me in her grasp. My dick was also under her control. She was the only one who could get it to perform whenever she wanted.
Damn! I’m in trouble.
She had become a sin that couldn’t be repented from.
But what was this other strange feeling I felt every time? Why did it refuse to go even after being banged countless times? Why did it stay in my chest like a hard lump? It felt like there was something I needed to say, like there was something that should be acknowledged.
I’d racked my brain for closure, but nothing appeared. However, the longer it took, the heavier the lump in my chest became. I felt emotional whenever I stared at her, like there was a hidden knot I’d refused to untie out of fear. I would’ve said it was love, but it couldn’t possibly be that. Sienna and I were worlds apart. She wouldn’t be able to survive in my world. And I was certain she only saw me as her boss and nothing more. So, I shouldn't get my hopes up. It was already a miracle that I could get her to do my bidding every time.
Breaking the hug, I placed my hands on her shoulders and stared into her eyes. She blinked, glancing everywhere except at my face.
I snickered. She’s so cute.
“Look at me, Sienna,” I mumbled, a hint of authority in my voice.
Reluctantly, she raised her gaze to me.
I stared unblinkingly. A question had been echoing in my ears for days, but I just couldn’t bear to ask it because of indescribable feelings. Was it fear? Or uncertainty?
“Do… you… love…”
There was an interruption as my phone’s ringtone ripped through the air. Immediately, I grabbed the phone from the table and put it to my ear without glancing at the screen. Actually, after saying the first two words, I realized I’d made a mistake. I wasn’t supposed to ask. So, the call coming in at this time was a blessing.
“Oh yeah… He finally picks up the old woman’s call.” My grandmother’s voice wafted into my ears, jerking me out of my thoughts.
I gestured for Sienna to dress up as I moved to the visitor’s corner.
“I thought you would only pick up after my death,” she continued dramatically.
I chuckled.
“Hey, old lady! Is this what you would’ve done if I had picked up all these days?”
“You’re a bastard, Lucien,” she laughed from the other side.
“Grandmother, I’m sorry for running away from the old house since my last visit.” I kneaded my brows, settling on the couch. “You know how handling the company can be tiring. And also, it’s a lot of work trying to familiarize myself with the shareholders and directors.”
To be factual, I hadn’t done any of these things. Sienna hadn’t allowed me to. Every morning, I resumed work because of her, and I wouldn’t leave until she was leaving. She was literally the reason I’d been lingering at work. I knew it was dangerous. Grandmother would definitely lose it if she found out.
“This has always been your excuse, Lu. You can’t keep doing this.” She definitely didn’t believe my lies. As expected from the woman who had single-handedly managed my father’s company when he died years ago.
“Come to the old house today. I’m tired of seeing only Martins at home.”
My grip on the phone tightened at the mention of his name. That bastard! I’d forgotten all about him, all thanks to the brief distraction from Sienna. I promised to make him regret ever coveting my company.
“No worries, Grandmother. I will come to the old house,” I told her. “But not today.”
I could bet her face fell instantly.
“No, Lu. You have to come today. There’s someone important waiting for you,” she revealed.
I paused to think for a moment, but I couldn’t figure out who the important person could be. This could be one of Grandmother’s tricks to force me home.
“You don’t have to lie to me, Grandma. I’ll come if…”
“Shut up, idiot,” she snapped at me. I didn’t dare speak back. “Come home today. She has been visiting every day for the past seven days and hoping you’ll come home,” she added.
My brows creased. She? A woman? Who was that?
