Chapter 49 Chapter 49

Chapter 49 Chapter 49
Atreus' POV

Two weeks ago, my nephews and my niece were born. They're adorable little things. Xerxes is half Shadow Angel and half Fire Demon with Amil's black hair and Draven's green eyes. Orinthia is a Fire Demon with Draven's red hair and Amil's grey eyes.

Acacius is a Shadow Angel with red and black streaked hair and his eyes are grey based with green rings in them that spread out slightly like sun rays.

Ziven and I think we'll only have one baby. I wish our baby has his skin tone and his eye color. I wonder, will our baby be half like me, and half like him?

I wonder how they will look. I've been looking at names with Arvan, since he and I are both pregnant. He thinks he'll have a girl, but is also thinking he'll have a boy.

As for me, I don't know what to think. I'm not hoping for a specific gender. I just hope my baby, looks like Ziven.

I guess, I'm scared of them looking like me. I won't love them any less if they do, it's just. I never liked the way I looked and avoided mirrors every chance I could.

Even though Ziven never fails to tell me just how beautiful I am.

"What do you think about Tiernan for a boy and Althea for a girl?" Arvan asks, snapping me out of my daze.

We're in the common area of the barracks, looking over names while I hold Orinthia and Xander holds Acacius as Amil feeds Xerxes. We've been looking over names for the past three hours.

But so far, none of them have clicked with me. Not even the ones he just mentioned.

I shake my head, dread slowly making itself known. "Neither are clicking with me."

"Damn. We've been at this for three hours and none of the names within the past two weeks have made an impact on you."

"I'm sorry. I'm not trying to be picky about names. They're all really good names. It's just, they don't make me feel like, there is no other choice. Like Althea, to me it sounds too close to Orinthia and I don't want to seem like I'm copying anyone. I like it, but it's not clicking."

I feel like, I'm failing my baby for not choosing a name for them. I might have eight months left, but Arvan has six. He needs to find names more than I do, but he said he wants to wait until he finds out the gender of his baby.

"What about Seren for a girl? There's also Marina." He suggests.

Shaking my head, I sigh and look at him. "Maybe, we should just forget about names for now. Nothing feels right."

He looks sad, knowing that I'm struggling to pick a name. I don't just want any name, I want one that calls to me, one that feels right.

"How about, Makani? Or Kaira?" Yari suggests, and, something clicks.

Makani, that one, feels right. "Makani. That one. If I have a girl, I want that to be here name." I've finally decided on a name for a girl.

"Finally! Now, let's find a name for a boy. None of the ones we've already gone over feel right to you?" Remus asks and I shake my head.

"No."

"Okay, then, how about Kian?" He suggests and I shake my head.

"Micheil is a good one. Not very many people use that name and you could choose a simple name like Blaze." Amil offered and I thought about it.

"How, did you come up with your names?" I ask him.

He tilts his head, thinking. "I've read a lot of books, and the ones I chose, were the ones that made the most sense to me. They also are rarely used."

"You could also use Onyx as a name, or Kenji." Taliesin suggests.

They're all good names. "There is Malo, Feival, and Zaire also." Thiago said.

"And Taiwo. Along with Bomani." Arvan said, perking up from suggesting names of their ancestors. "Those names are really rare, but also good ones."

"Yes, and Gari, which means mighty warrior." Thiago answered.

All the names they are saying sound good to me and now I'm having trouble choosing which one of those I should use for a boy.

"I like all of those names. Is, there another one though? Because none of those are clicking."

"Ade. That one is so rarely used. It is almost unheard of even at home." Thiago said, and the name clicked instantly.

"What does it mean?" I ask him.

"It means royal. The longer version of that, is Adebayo. Which means, the crown has met with joy. Fitting seeing as you are the nephew to a king. Back home, in ancient times, that name was used commonly among my people. Now, it is rare."

"He's right. I remember when my mother would tell us stories about the times before the floods and the destruction of a so-called modern world. She said, that Naroa used to be called Nigeria. I'm jealous of Thiago keeping the accent when I can't. I only get it when I say the names and that's it. It's frustrating because it's such a beautiful accent."

Thiago laughs, "I am lucky to have kept the accent, though my English has gotten better."

"Yeah it has. Though I miss when you barely spoke any of it. Your accent was stronger back then." Yari said as he sat in front of his mate with a solfilo twist in his mouth.

It's almost one in the afternoon and all the kids are taking naps right now. Orinthia moves slightly in my arms and I look down at her to see her looking up at me with a bright, gummy smile.

She's so cute it hurts. Then she has the audacity to giggle and I feel jealous of my little brother-in-law for having his babies before me. Even though he had no control over them.

Xerxes and Acacius are just as cute. I hope my baby is just as adorable.

"My accent is still strong. I do not plan on letting it leave." He says it like he can control it. Maybe he can.

"Maybe we should take a long overdue trip back home? I'm getting bored not knowing when Lord Sirius will get back. It's almost been a month and everyone here is lost on what to do." Arvan suggested.

"I would love to, but we have no idea when Silas will come. We have no choice but to stay here." Ziven said as he walked over to me holding a plate filled with food for me.

He was also born in Naroa, but like Arvan, he lost his accent. I wonder what he would sound like if his accent had stayed. Would his voice be deeper?

"True, I hate staying in one place for a long time. But we don't have much of a choice, which sucks. Amil, has Lord Sirius contacted you or anything?" Arvan asks.

Amil shakes his head, "No. I can try to contact him, but I doubt he'll answer. Same goes for the king. I doubt either will answer."
