Chapter 60
"What?!" Richard exclaimed out of shock. "Are you sure that's what is written there?" He whispered.
Xander nodded. "It's what I'm seeing. And according to the book, they have some special features that make them recognizable. White hair, glowing golden eyes, white as snow...tell me, who does that remind you of?"
Richard looked at Amelia sitting close to the fire and back at Xander. "I guess it should explain why she's far from home."
Xander sighed. "So what are we gonna do now? The most powerful creatures were wiped out of existence by the Xondras."
Richard tilted his head to the side. "The Xondras?"
Xander nodded. "There's obviously a reason for everything. The Light was wiped out, the Xondras were cursed."
"But why? Who started it and who was the mastermind?"
Xander shrugged. "Questions the book have no answer to."
"So, if the Light has the power to bring back memories, then shouldn't Amelia have that power too? She's not even exhibiting anything." Richard stated.
"Whisper, whisper, whisper. What are you two hiding?" Katherine asked, folding her arms.
They shook their heads. "Nothing serious," Richard answered.
Amelia looked at Richard and then at Luc who stood so far from them. She really wanted to talk to him but Richard keep saying it was best to give him arm's length since Luc hardly believes anything and if things are forced on him, he could mark you an enemy.
She stood up deciding to approach him in a friendly manner.
Luc watched as she walked up to him. He still couldn't understand the rush of adrenaline he feels when looking at her or when she was so close to him. He gets the urge to be with her, protect her, to make sure his eyes are always fixated on her.
He has never felt so drawn to any woman. Never felt the way he was feeling toward Amelia and even her scent alone was enticing. It just wants to make him have her all to himself.
Amelia got to him with a smile on her face. "So, hi."
Luc nodded in amusement. "Hi."
"Um, how long are you gonna stand here? Maybe you should take a breather. You should rest." She implored.
Luc looked around and at how dark the place completely is with just the flame illuminating where they were. "I could...rest, only if I have you by my side." He arrogantly said, looking at her with a smirk on his face.
Amelia rose a brow and blinked since she couldn't find the words to say.
He anticipated her reaction which made him nod. "I know. You must find it hard that Luc Stark himself wants you by his side. Don't think too much about it."
An unexpected scoff came out of Amelia. "Seriously? I never knew you were this arrogant."
"Don't try to talk back at me, Mia..."
The name made her sigh shakily.
"I know what you're trying to pull, or...do you have a boyfriend?" He questioned.
Amelia shook her head. "I don't. I have a mate." She answered him.
He blinked, slightly taken aback by it and feel affected by it. "Oh. Is that so? Is he among us? Richard? Xander?"
"Maybe I should keep you wondering which one."
Luc chuckled. "You're bluffing."
Amelia shook her head in denial. "I'm not."
"You are. I can tell you are. Why are you trying to deceive me?" He asked her.
"Can you read mind?" She inquired.
He shook his head. "No."
"Then you'll never know." She answered him.
He smiled. "I could make you mine if I want to, you know? To hell with whatever mate you have, he won't have a choice."
Amelia sighed, getting hot by the unknown restless feeling she was having. "And why? What do you care so much about me that you want to have me by all means?"
He shook his head. "Can't explain. I also know you don't have a mate 'cause if that was the case, I wouldn't have been the one to ride you on a horse."
She gulped knowing that was true.
"There's something about you..." He trailed off, whirling his eyes around her making her feel so transparent. "The familiarity...I feel like I knew you like...not just knowing you, it's like..." He wanted to say but he couldn't find the words and it made him sigh. "I knew you, didn't I? You're among my forgotten memories, aren't you?"
'I'm actually what you forgot.' She answered in her thought and nodded. "Yeah. I am."
He nodded and chuckled. "Then you're officially the reason why I'll be putting a hundred percent care into finding my memories."
She smiled, happy to hear that.
"You should go sleep. I'll watch over you." He told her, although it sounded sarcastic but deep down he was serious.
She just nodded and decided to leave him.

Bethany looked out the bamboo window and sighed as she saw the pitiful children playing. For the past five days since she's been stuck here, she has seen their lives. They were nice and cheerful people.
They even did some kinda celebration just to welcome her into their world which made her truly understand how even harmless they are.
Whoever cursed them is definitely heartless.
Nonetheless, even though they've made her feel so comfortable, she couldn't wait to leave. She's been worried about Richard and Xander, what could have become of them or if anyone noticed she's been missing.
Just five days more and Yun will take her out of here and back home.
.
.
"Priestess, just five days more."
A beautiful, long, and silky black-haired lady swiveled her chair to look at the person standing in front of her. "Yes, I know, Yun, and believe me, I'm also counting cause you guys have unfinished business for me."
Yun nodded. "If you can make our wish come to pass, then we'll make sure this time, we're victorious." He assured.
The priestess nodded. "In three days time, bring her here so I can prepare her for it. You've made her comfortable enough, right?"
Yun nodded. "Yes."
"You sure I won't sense any struggle 'cause it could make things really hard for us."
"You won't, priestess. She doesn't know what's coming to her." Yun guaranteed.
The priestess nodded and turned toward a heart glowing in a container. "Soon, I'll have it all and no one will stop me."
