Chapter 53
Jones walked inside the throne room and met Logan discussing with Lisa. He bowed before looking at him. "There's something important I need to convey."
Logan sighed and nodded. "Okay, let it all out."
"The warriors came back. They couldn't find Richard and his cohorts. Although they found burnt bodies of the warriors we first sent." Jones informed.
Logan frowned. "Were they able to catch their scent? And I thought they were only three."
"Yeah. With a girl named Bethany." Jones made it known.
Lisa lowered her gaze to where she sat, she was befuddled by the name. "Bethany?" She looked at Logan. "I know Bethany except there are different Bethanies."
"And who do you think she is?" Logan questioned.
"One of my experiments. The girl I used to kill Amelia but failed."
Logan cocked his head in curiosity and bewilderment. "You think she's the one? I thought you said she'll be unstable, that they'll have no choice but to kill her."
Lisa blinked and looked away, feeling disappointed in herself and scared Logan will lash at her. "I just thought they won't see a reason to keep her alive. If they want to, they can always find a way."
Logan chuckled bitterly and in disbelief. "Just more problems. More problems!"
Lisa blinked again and glanced at him. "They must have neutralized what I did to her, but it won't stop her from being powerful. From being supernatural and it seems they've helped her to the light since she's with them now."
"On a scale of one to ten, how powerful is she?" Logan asked without sparing her a glance.
Lisa looked at him. "She's harmful to werewolves. Extremely harmful."
Logan nodded. "So you made a weapon against my species." He said before looking at her.
Lisa shook her head. "I only did it to be able to control her. I was following your orders."
Logan sighed and looked away, his gaze dropping on Jones who just listened. "So, you're saying they must have arrived here?"
Jones nodded. "Yes. They're here and I know."
"Then do me a favor by getting your brother."
Jones nodded and walked away.
"So, about the portal..."
Logan looked at her. "Yes. Is that possible?"
Lisa shook her head. "It'll take a lot. It won't be easy creating a portal, especially one leading to a place of no return."
"I'm sure it should be in one of those of your many dark grimoires, right?"
Lisa nodded. "And the ingredients will be hard to find."
"Then start working on it."

Macy scratched the back of her head in frustration as she was getting nothing from the grimoire in her hand. She has almost flipped every page but nothing.
Stephanie walked toward her and stood in front of her. "It's been five days and you haven't gotten what you wanted. I think for now we should wonder if Richard, Bethany, and Xander are safe."
Macy looked up at her and as she was about to talk...
"Don't worry, they're safe. Spoke to Richard not too long ago." Jacob said, entering with Julian behind him.
Julian looked at him. "You already talked to them and you didn't tell us."
"Like I said, not too long ago." He said showing them the phone.
"But why can't we all make a call?" Stephanie inquired.
"It's the reception. Logan has it in his clutches. Believe me, he monitors it in case we try to converse on the phone." Jacob explained.
"And you? How could you maneuver yours? How come yours isn't monitored?" Steph asked.
"Did something witchy on it. A call can only last twenty minutes before anything can be detected and can only be one call for a day." Macy explained further.
"Can't you do it on every phone?"
Mach shook her head. "No. There are risks. They could realize something if that happens."
Stephanie let out a harsh breath in frustration. "They do have everything wrapped around their fingers or should I say claws."
They all nodded in agreement, ignoring her humor.
"So have they seen Finn yet?" Julian asked. "It's been five days so they must have seen Finn and Amelia."
"He didn't give details since our minutes were almost up but yes. He found them." Jacob told them. "So, if you guys will excuse me, I need to go take care of things outside."
Julian nodded. "I'll follow."
They both left once again.
Macy looked at Stephanie. "Can you tell what Amelia is feeling right now?"
Stephanie blinked and looked away, freeing her mind to get Amelia's feelings. She shivered as strong adrenaline flowed through her body. "Worry. She's worried and agitated."
Macy lowered her gaze in thought. "Worried and agitated. Why? She should be in relief since Richard, Xander and Bethany is with them."
Stephanie looked at Macy. "What are you saying? Are you doubting Jacob?"
Macy shook her head. "No. I just know something is wrong. Could be wrong with them."
"Can't you do something about it? Like voodoo?"
"There was a time I hacked into Amelia's dreams so I could lead her to Luc. My Grams helped achieved that..." She stood up. "Thanks to the orb I was able to be in possession of it since my mom gave it to me."
"So can you still use it?" Stephanie inquired hopefully.
Macy sighed. "Without my grams helping, I'll find it difficult. She's dead so she can't always show herself to me. The only period she could was when Luc found her. She always knew it was gonna be this century so she was prepared to show herself to me and assist me. After that, I can hardly get her."
"And you don't know the spells to know what they're up to? To watch them?" Stephanie asked, feeling her hope crumbling down.
Macy nodded. "I don't. If only I had that grimoire...belonged to my grams. She was a great, powerful witch. Never got to meet her though since she's not actually my grandmother but my great, great-grandmother. I wish to be as powerful as her one day but not without the grimoire."
"Must be powerful," Stephanie remarked.
Macy nodded. "Very. Let's go to my cave. I hid the orb there. I'm gonna have to try since I don't have any luck in discovering how to unblock your abilities."
Stephanie nodded.
