Chapter 75 Can you give me a kiss?
Lara didn't go to school today, or rather, she was confined at home.
Lennon somehow managed to bring in bodyguards.
Since last night, he has been guarding the Morris family home.
Are you really afraid that she will run away?
Mr. Avila is really overthinking it.
This is her home, where she grew up. She won't give it up for anyone.
Unless...
She doesn't want it herself.
The third-floor art studio.
The same birthday painting.
She sits there, not knowing what she's thinking.
The more you delve into something, the more shocking it becomes.
Chloe asked her if her relationship with Avila was not familial from the beginning.
Lara had no answer to this question.
It's a bit sad to think about it. In her twenty-one years of life, it seems like she hasn't loved anyone other than her family.
Love can be really bothersome!
She doesn't understand it and doesn't want to waste time trying to figure it out!
Lara called Timothy, feeling restless and not wanting to be alone with her thoughts.
Timothy arrived an hour and a half later.
Knowing she was on the third floor; he went straight up.
Hearing footsteps, Lara turned around, furrowing her brow in annoyance. "Why did you take so long?"
Timothy gave her a sideways glance and walked over. "You really see me as your assistant?"
Lara withdrew her gaze. "Have a seat."
Timothy pulled out a chair and sat down, glancing at the dried paints on the table. "After all this time, why did you suddenly feel like painting again?"
"Just feeling frustrated, needed a place to stay."
Timothy chuckled. "Well, with your three-minute attention span, it's about right to just sit there and daydream."
Lara glared at him. "No one asked you so be quiet."
Timothy turned his gaze to the nearby painting, studying it for a few seconds.
The handsome man and beautiful woman in the painting exuded a hint of fairy tale charm.
Timothy smirked. "When will you paint one for me?"
Lara's interest was lacking. "Creating art requires inspiration. Can you just paint whenever you want?"
Timothy scoffed. "If you don't want to paint, then don't. I'm not interested. How dare you talk about inspiration with your level of skill. I bet you've become rusty and can't paint anymore."
Lara reached out and pinched him. "Get lost!"
"Ouch..."
Timothy exaggeratedly cried out, "Madam, I can't tell the truth?"
Lara snorted, turning her face away in a huff.
Timothy leaned closer with a smile. "Madam, if you called me over so early in the morning, it's not just to pinch me for relief, right?"
"Not really..."
Confusion flickered in her eyes as she stared at his expression more intently.
Timothy stretched lazily. "I have lunch plans with Daisy later, so if you have something to say, say it quickly."
Lara looked at him.
In reality, it's not impossible to differentiate between love and family.
She hesitated.
"Timothy... um..."
"What?"
She pursed her lips and swallowed hard. "Can you give me a kiss?"
"..."
Timothy abruptly stood up, stepping back several meters to maintain distance from her. He exaggeratedly pointed at her and exclaimed, "Beast! What are you trying to do?"
Lara...
Timothy nodded knowingly and then suddenly realized, "I knew it! You approaching me can't be for anything good. In broad daylight, you... Are you trying to use this to threaten me into taking you out to play?"
Lara rolled her eyes. "You're insane."
Timothy's beautiful peach blossom eyes were full of certainty. "You clearly want to extort me, and you call me insane. Between the two of us, who is the insane one?"
"..."
Sighing, Lara waved her hand irritably at him. "Fine, I'm insane, okay?"
If she weren't insane, she wouldn't have done such absurd things.
Timothy stared at her face, dumbfounded for a few seconds before he dropped the joke. Suspiciously, he asked, "Why suddenly covet my beauty when everything was fine?"
Covet his beauty? Yeah, right!
Lara bit her lip, feeling conflicted. "Just consider me crazy."
With that, she stood up, slowly walked up to Timothy, tiptoed, and cupped his handsome and irresistible face in her hands.
Looking left and right, her gaze finally settled on the man's thin lips.
After observing for a moment, she furrowed her brow with curiosity and said, "Why does it feel so disgusting?"
The mere thought of kissing him felt like a crime.
Timothy looked horrified, raised his hand, and pushed her away. "You're the disgusting one! What are you thinking?"
Lara stumbled back a few steps, barely regaining her balance. She looked puzzled at him and asked, "I was thinking, why can't I bring myself to kiss you?"
What?
Timothy approached her, lifted his hand, and tapped her forehead. "Did you go to the bar and get drunk yesterday? Alcohol poisoning made you dumb?"
Lara touched her forehead. "Maybe."
Timothy looked bewildered. "Can you stop speaking in riddles all the time?"
Lara picked up a white cloth to cover the painting and turned to walk out of the studio, speaking with her back to him, "Come have breakfast with me."
Timothy followed behind her and speculated, "Is it because Avila is away on business trips that you're feeling unsatisfied?"
Lara glanced at him sideways. "Disgusting."
"..."
Ha!
Who's really disgusting here!
Can't he see who called him over early in the morning to tease him?
Timothy touched his thin lips. With such a handsome face and excellent kissing skills, she actually called him disgusting—she clearly has no taste!
Restaurant.
The breakfast on the table was rich and delicately arranged.
The two silently ate their breakfast until Timothy couldn't resist breaking the silence. "You disappeared yesterday... He almost turned Emerton City over, a lot of people were implicated. When he comes back, it's likely you'll be in trouble."
Lara adjusted her mood and replied calmly, "Is that so?"
"Of course, first of all, you can't escape having bodyguards accompanying you."
"Oh."
Oh?
Timothy looked at her in surprise, "Is that your reaction?"
"Otherwise, what's the point of resisting?
"Did you two have a fight?"
Lara smiled and looked at him, "A fight?"
Timothy suddenly remembered that Avila wasn't in Emberton City.
He awkwardly rubbed his nose, "I almost forgot, he went on a business trip to the United States. What happened yesterday then?"
Suddenly, she lost her appetite for the breakfast in front of her.
Lara glanced at him and said, "He went to accompany Bella for surgery. It's well known by everyone. Is there a need to deceive me?"
Uh...
Timothy forced a few laughs, "You already know?"
Hmph, birds of a feather!
Lara reached out and took away the bowl in front of him, "Don't eat, go and accompany your little dream!"
Timothy innocently said, "It's not like I asked him to accompany Bella. Why are you blaming me?"
Lara glared at him, "You and Avila are like two peas in a pod, both waiting for me to make a fool of myself!"
"It's not fair to accuse me like this..."
"It doesn't matter who I accuse, I can't accuse you, bootlicker!"
"Am I a bootlicker?"
Timothy pointed at himself, widened his eyes, and put on a cute expression, "Who did I provoke? Why do I end up displeasing both sides?"
Lara rolled her eyes at him, "You deserve it!"
Timothy became a bit annoyed, "I haven't even asked you yet, what did you mean by that in the studio just now?"
"There was no meaning!"
"..."
They were on the verge of arguing.
