Episode 24

And I tried to make myself fall asleep, but the effects of Zyphyrine had already prevented me from doing so. After struggling for some time, I gave up and got out of bed, feeling frustrated. As soon as I stepped out of my room, I encountered my uncle Sydney at the door.

"Good morning, Liam. You don't have to be so hard on her," he said to me. I didn't respond, but instead stared at him for a moment.

"After all the stress last night, you still sent her to wake me up? Don't you know how I would react?" I asked my uncle as I closed the door and left his presence. I quickly ran downstairs to have breakfast.

As I left, I could sense my uncle Sydney looking at me. "He's becoming so stubborn these days," he muttered in a low voice. I heard him, but acted as if I hadn't.

When I arrived at the dining room, the food had already been prepared and laid out, so I took my seat. However, I noticed that Zyphyrine was staring at me instead of serving my food.

"What the hell are you staring at?" I yelled at her.

"I'm sorry," she said, quickly collecting herself and proceeding to serve me my food.

She stood up from her seat and served me my food, while I glared at her disapprovingly. I picked up my spoon and took a small bite, as I had been repeatedly interrupted to come and eat.

To my surprise, the food was delicious, but I needed to maintain my charade of disliking her efforts, in the hope that she would soon leave this house.

After taking just one bite of the meal, I pretended that it was bitter.

"You don't like it?" She asked in a menacing tone.

"Are you insane? You mean to tell me that you couldn't let me rest, just to serve me this abysmal excuse for food?" I retorted, as I carefully covered her food and left the dining table.

As I walked away, I couldn't help but remember just how delicious that food had tasted, despite my initial reluctance. Frustrated with myself, I begrudgingly returned to the table and took three more spoonfuls of the mouth-watering dish.

"I can't believe I thought your cooking was trash! I need to taste it again!" I exclaimed, after taking the three spoonfuls. She looked at me in confusion.

"I was trying to force myself to eat this meal!" I yelled, taking another spoonful.

"But damn it! It's not just horrible, it's a trash! Just like you!" I yelled, throwing the spoon at her, but she managed to dodge it.

After hastily leaving the dining room, I leaned my body against the wall to catch my breath. "What a scrumptious meal! I must grab some more from the kitchen," I exclaimed as I hurried there.

As I arrived at the kitchen and lifted the lid of the pot, I was startled by the sudden appearance of Zyphyrine. Our eyes met and I stared at her in surprise.

It's not too late to pretend because I haven't taken any food out of the pot.

"Take a look at the mess you've made and consider it a meal. You couldn't even make it small, and you used my favorite pot!"

I said as she stared at me, knowing full well that I don't even know how to cook, let alone use a favorite pot.

"I should have made something else to eat!" I yelled at her as she kindly set the plates on the table.

"I'm sorry you didn't like the food, but there are other pots in the kitchen," she said as I looked around, almost at a loss for words.

"I don't like those other pots. It's either this very pot or nothing! This is my favorite pot, and you messed it up!" I yelled at her, my face displaying annoyance.

She looked scared, intimidated by my harsh tone.

"Okay, I'm sorry. Let me transfer the food to another pot so you can make use this one," she said.

"What did you say?" I asked, looking at her as she began transferring the food to another pot.

"You don't know what you're doing! Maybe I should just make tea!" I yelled at her before quickly leaving the room.

I swear, pretending to be angry isn't always a good idea. Truth be told, I'm actually craving her food right now. But I have to hold myself back because she must leave this house!

★ LUCIA ★

"Thank you so much for the meal, Lucia. It was delicious," Logan said to me as we sat next to each other.

He had fully recovered from his wound and was now feeling much better.

"Come on, Logan. Would you like me to show you around?" I asked him.

"Of course," he replied with a smile before I turned to the nurse.

"Is he finally okay?" I inquired of the attending nurse, who nodded in confirmation.

"Yes, he has been discharged," she replied, prompting a smile from me.

"I sincerely appreciate your excellent care," I expressed, extending my hand for a handshake.

She reciprocated the gesture, shaking my hand and adding, "You're welcome," before exiting the room.

Then Logan rose from his sickbed and changed into the new clothes I had brought him, as the ones he was wearing were stained with blood and beyond salvaging.

He changed in front of me without asking for privacy, and I found myself stealing glances at his attractive physique.

His body looked smooth and fresh, and I couldn't help but notice his striking features, his cock look so fresh and smooth.

I had an intense desire to have it in my mouth at this moment, but I managed to control my urges.

Lost in my thoughts, I was jolted back to reality when Logan asked, "How do I look?" With a smile on my face, I stepped closer to him and replied, "You look delicious!" I couldn't resist biting my lip as I said it.

"Thank you!" he responded, clearly pleased with my compliment. I grabbed his hand and kissed it, and we locked eyes in a moment of mutual attraction.

"Can we go now?" he asked, to which I nodded and replied, "Yes, of course we can."

While taking a stroll around the pack's territory with Logan, we ran into Diana along the way.

"That's my sister Diana up ahead," I informed Logan.

"Oh, she's beautiful. But you two don't really look alike," he commented, prompting a smile from me.

"Perhaps it's because we have different mothers," I replied.

"Wow, so you've finally found your match," she exclaimed when she approached, to which Logan smiled, perhaps not realizing where the conversation was heading to.

"I'm Logan," he introduced himself with enthusiasm, extending his hand for a handshake from Diana.

"Who cares to know? Take your filthy hands out of my face!" Diana yelled at him, leaving him staring at me in surprise.

"And as for you, Lucia, I swear that after I'm done with you, you'll regret ever stepping foot in this pack, and I will finally mate with Jackie," Diana threatened, leaving Logan looking confused.

"What's going on, Lucia? What is she talking about?" Logan asked me.

"That's just how crazy people make noise. We should ignore her because she's one of them," I explained to Logan, taking his hand and walking away from Diana.

As Diana stared at me in shock, I could tell that my words had deeply wounded her, but I remained indifferent to her pain.

Logan, noticing the tension in the air, asked me to explain what was happening. I let out a heavy sigh before responding, "She's angry with me, most likely because I'm set to mate with the strongest Alpha in just three days, during the full moon."

I smiled at Logan, but I could tell from his forced smile that he wasn't happy with what I had just said. I knew he loved me deeply, which made it even harder to break the news.

"Are you okay?" I asked, sensing his unease.

He hesitated before responding, "Ummm..."

I interrupted him, "It's okay, I know you're scared of losing me. But don't worry, I have a plan to keep us together." My words brought a smile back to his face, and I felt a sense of relief wash over me.

"Really?" Logan asked, his face lighting up with happiness.

"Of course," I replied, returning his smile. "No one will take me away from you."

"Great," he said, visibly relieved.

"Come on, let me show you around some more. There's nothing to worry about, okay?" I requested, to which Logan nodded in agreement.

"Okay," he said, following me as we continued our tour.
