Chapter 99 : Much deeper plans

Chapter 99 : Much deeper plans
Hazel went back to the spot Rave had taken Lucian and she was indeed still there, standing outside as though she had been eating for her.

“You don't look so good Hazel, why? Lost something?”

Hazel moved closer, but the same force from before stopped her from going further.

“Where is he?”

Rave smirked and moved a bit closer.

“Leave Hazel, I will be the one who comes to you.”

Hazel shook her head.

“That's not going to happen, I will not leave until I see him.”

She tried to move close again but no matter what, she just couldn't get past.

“I strengthened the barrier, you didn't think I'd leave it weak did you?”

Hazel scoffed.

“I guess you were scared.”

Rave's eyes twitched but she didn't let her emotions control her.

As though she had signalled them, so many men surrounded Hazel, causing her to look around.

She could tell that most of them were not werewolves.

“Go and prepare your men Hazel, I'm coming for your heart.

But I'll let you have a fair fight.”

Hazel moved back, she knew she wasn't ready to face so many men.

When she got back, Zariel rushed towards her.

“Where did you go?”

She didn't stand to talk to him and just walked towards the chair.

“You didn't think I was going to stand by and do nothing, did you?”

She asked as she signalled a servant to come over.

“I need something strong.”

The servant nodded and rushed away.

“She's still in her hideout but the barrier is much stronger now. I can't go in, but something felt off.”

Zariel sat down and looked at her, waiting for her to continue.

The servant brought a strong wine and poured her a glass of whiskey.

She took everything at once and the servant poured her another before leaving.

“She had the upper hand, she could have killed me there and then, but she didn't.
She let me go and even told me she's planning to attack.”

She then turned to him, her face looking serious.

“Have you looked into what I asked?”

He nodded.

“They will be here before the sun sets.”

She nodded and took the full glass again.

“I don't know what she's planning, but I know she's coming soon, sooner than we think.

And I need to know if Kael is alive before then.”

“He is.”

They both turned, only to see Raina standing behind them.

“You… how did you get in here?”

She rolled her eyes and moved closer.

“That's not what you should be asking.”

Hazel went silent for a while, she was obviously deep in her thoughts.

“It was you, you're the one who spoke to me in the garden.”

Raina said nothing, but seeing as she was not denying it, Hazel knew she was right.

“Why would you help me, what do you want?”

She looked on the edge and full of doubt.

“I don't like you Hazel, don't think I'm doing this because I suddenly care about you.”

Hazel calmed down a bit, that sounded more like Raina.

“After I overheard Rave's plans, I just knew I could not be on that side anymore.”

Hazel leaned forward.

“What did you hear?”

Raina looked outside the window before looking back at Hazel.

“She already knows I'm here, but I'll tell you anyway. If you promise to take care of my mother.”

Hazel's gaze softened. She could see how vulnerable Raina was being right now and that was when it struck her.

Of course she would hate her.
Looking back, that's just how she was raised, she was raised to hate Hazel just like her father and mother did.

She only copied the elders around her. And when her entire life crumbled, she had no choice but to side with someone who had promised to treat her mother.

“I'll protect both of you, just tell me everything you think I need to know.”

A single tear fell from Raina's eyes as she tried to hold in the rest of her tears.

“You think you're all that?”

Hazel stayed silent. She knew it wasn't the time to bicker.

Raina sniffed hard, trying to collect her emotions.

“Rave is planning to end the werewolves completely.

Not just Nightshade.”

Hazel raised a brow, that was not what she was expecting to hear.

“She plans to give demons the ultimate power and rule both the underworld and the land of the living.”

Zariel suddenly spoke.

“But she's a werewolf, and she has only attacked Nightshade.”

Raina nodded.

“That is because she knows Nightshade is the strongest pack.
She needed help from other packs to get rid of the most serious threat before attacking the others.

To her, Alpha Kael only helped her when he attacked Dragon pack and killed Alpha Devon.”

Hazel scoffed,

“She had it all planned out.”

Raina nodded at her words.

“She has a lot of plans and at the end of all of it, she wins and the world is doomed.”

She then turned to Zamiel.

“And as for being a werewolf, she has been feasting on werewolves and taking all of their powers for herself using dark magic.

I'm not sure, but if my hunch is right…”

Hazel cut her off.

“She wants to be the only werewolf.”

Raina's eyes opened wide as she nodded.

“You think so too?”

Hazel turned to her and sighed.

“You should stay here, we will bring your mother here too.
You're not safe anywhere else.”

Raina shook her head.

“I also have some shame you know? I know when to stop.”

Hazel stood up, causing the other two to stand up as well.

“Then take it as an order…”

She turned to Raina.

“From your Luna.”

Raina blinked several times before she bowed.

Hazel turned to Zariel.

Check on Miguel and meet me in Kael's study, we need to start planning too.“

After saying that, she left and Zariel went to look for Miguel.

When he got to Miguel, he noticed he was already up and getting ready.

“Good, the Luna wants to see you.”

Dona who was with him looked at Zariel like she was shocked.
She was not expecting them to need Miguel now.

Miguel gave Dona a light smile before leaving with Zariel.

When they got to the study, Hazel was waiting, looking outside the window.

“You asked for me.”

He bowed gently and she turned.

“My mother's pack are on their way,”

She looked forward with a serious expression.

“We have a war ahead of us.”
