Chapter 93 The merge

Chapter 93 The merge
The fire was slowly changing from a bright gold color to a bluish purple color.

“I don't know much about this. As a matter of fact, I don't know anything about this. But I know I want to win this war. I know I want to make this world a conducive place for us to live, for all of our loved ones to live.

I don't want us to be two different entities, I don't want us to be like flatmates sharing the same body. I want us to work together, to become one.

I want us to show them what we have and I want them to know that we can not be messed with because we are not two… we are one strong body, meant for greatness”.

She said and soon, the flame became gold again but now, it wasn't looking harsh. It looked calm, it looked like it was ready to listen.

“I have come in different forms for centuries, never have I met anyone who is ready to accept me as themselves. I have always been an object for use. One that brings use to get that which they truly deeply desire.

I have always been used as an object of war, and object of power, an object of fortune. No one has ever claimed to be one with me”.

The voice was now calm, sounding like that of a very little girl.

“You are the first, the first to come to me with honest words and genuine intentions”.

She said and Hazel smiled.

“You sound like me when I was a child”.

Hazel suddenly said and she heard the voice chuckle.

“I like to have the body of a child, it makes me move on more easily”.

The voice said and Hazel nodded.

“I like it, it is nice to know that my younger self is still inside of me”.

She said and the fire suddenly began to form, creating a shape of a human as though it was molding itself.

Hazel just kept looking in amusement. She wasnt sure why, but she felt jolly talking and watching the fire.

Soon, the fire molded into something else, a small looking girl with her back turned to Hazel.

But shortly after, she turned to Hazel and Hazel wasn't sure when but tears began to pour out from her eyes.

“Do I remind you of a sad past”?

The little girl asked but Hazel smiled as tears kept pouring from her eyes and she shook her head.

“You just look so perfect”.

She said and moved closer to the little girl, kneeling in front of her with one knee on the floor as she hugged her tightly.

“I promise, you will never feel lonely again. I promise to protect and love you with everything I have and I promise you that in all that I do, I will always and forever put you first".

She said, the tears in her eyes began to pour even more as she promised every thing from the depth of her heart.

She was still hugging her when she noticed the little girl sank into her and when she opened her eyes, she was back in Lucian's room.

She cleaned her eyes, wiping the tears that was still on her face as she looked at Dona.

The candles went completely off and the lights from the crystals dimmed.

“What happened”?

Dona asked as she rushed towards Hazel but Hazel shook her head.

“I don't know…”

She said as she stood up and walked out of the circle of candles.

“You didn't see the orb? You couldn't have a conversation”?

She asked but Hazel shook her head.

“We did, it went a lot better than I even thought, but I don't know what her final answer was”.

She said and Dona sighed.

“I guess there is only one way to find out”.

Dona said and Hazel nodded, getting up to get ready to go and train with Zariel again.

But as soon as she got to the door, she heard Dove speak.

“Hey, missed me”?

As soon as she heard that sassy voice, she immediately turned back to Dona with a wide smile as she knew exactly what this meant.

“What? What's wrong"?

Dona asked and Hazel moved closer to her.

“I think the orb is finally under control”.

She said with a wide smile.

“Ever since the orb was activated, I couldn't hear from Dove at all but now I can”.

She explained and Dona smiled as she moved close and hugged Hazel.

“This is good news. I thought it would take more than once to convince it”.

Dona said, excitement plastered all over her voice.

“I still need to train. It's time to get stronger and put Rave in her place once and for all”.

She said and Dona nodded.

Hazel left the room and went to look for Zariel.

When she got outside where they were training earlier, she saw him sparing with Kael.
They were actually fight with real daggers.
Hazel shook her head and began moving closer.

“Is there another war approaching”?

She asked but as soon as she did, Zariel threw his dagger at her.

Hazel bent with her back to the floor and her face to the sky as she looked at the dagger fly pass her.

As soon as the dagger passed her, she stood and looked at Zariel with her eyes opened wide.

“What was that for”?

She asked but he looked at her with a smirk.
Kael rushed towards her and asked.

“Are you okay”?

He asked but they heard Zariel speak.

“You succeeded"?

He asked and she looked at him with a brow raised.

“Did you just throw a dagger at me to confirm if I have the orb under control”?

She asked in disbelief and he nodded.

“Congratulations, now we can train without any problems”.

He said and she gave him a look that showed she was a bit pissed and confused.

“You're very weird”.

She said and he smiled.

“You said it yourself, you don't have any time to waste”.

He said and she rolled her eyes. To her, getting the orb under control was already a very great achievement for the day but she wasn't going to quit training just because she had the orb under control.

“So what exactly are we supposed to do now”?

She asked and he moved a bit close.

“In all of the times I encountered the orb, there is one thing it really love to do”.

Hazel had a brow raised, wondering what he was talking about.

“Fly”.

He said and just like that, he held her by the neck and flew up with her into the sky, a place where Kael couldn't follow.

Hazel was fighting him on the air as his hand on her neck was a lot more painful than she had anticipated.

She was still struggling to stop him from strangling her when she suddenly felt him let her go, letting her fall from above the sky.

Hazel was screaming like she had lost her mind. Never in her life has she ever been this far up and now, she was going down in a speed she couldn't even explain.

“Screw you Zariel"!!

She yelled as she kept falling but soon, she closed her eyes and just believing she could fly, she felt herself stay stuck on the air
.

She opened one of her eyes and seeing that she was just a few inches from the floor, she sighed in relief.

But then, she looked up and noticed…

“I'm flying”!
