Chapter 81 A sign
She leaned back in, trying to kiss him again but he moved away, making her look at him in confusion.
“What's wrong”?
She asked but he couldn't stop looking at her eyes.
“Your eyes”.
He said and she could tell that he was t complimenting her.
She stood up from him and went to the mirror. As soon as she saw how golden her eyes were, she gasped in shock and looked at Kael.
“Is it… my heart”?
She asked and he nodded as that was what he was thinking too.
“I believe so, that's the only explanation for this”.
He said and stood up, walking towards her.
“Which makes me wonder…”
He stopped as soon as he got close enough.
“What more can you do with your heart now fully activated”?
He asked but even she wasn't sure of what her heart could do.
“I'm guessing we'll find out when I start training with Zariel".
She said and Kael nodded in agreement.
“But…”
She looked at him with a serious and confused look on her face.
“Is that why you didn't want to kiss me”?
She asked. And as soon as she did, Kael noticed her eyes got even brighter.
'it is working with her emotions'.
He thought to himself before he smiled and kissed her on her forehead.
“I was shocked to see your eye like that, but that would never push me away from you”.
Hazel didn't seem to believe his words.
“You do not seem to get it Hazel".
He said, looking at her carefully.
“There is nothing in this world that could ever make me leave you again.
I made that mistake once, and I will forever live regeting it. I will never let you go, not even if the god of death asks me to”.
He said and he noticed her eyes slowly going back to their original color.
He couldn't really explain what he had done to make her eyes go back to their original color, but he was glad to know he had calmed her down.
Hazel looked at him for a while before she moved closer and hugged him tightly like he was the origin she needed to survive.
“I'm happy you found us Kael".
She said and he smiled before he kissed her hair.
“I'm glad you're back with me Hazel".
They remained like that for a while, just taking each other's scent in and dweling in the comfort of each other's embrace.
Soon, Kael took her back to the bed and it didn't take long before Hazel finally gave in to the stress she had been feeling all along.
Kael didn't sleep, he just watched as she slept so peacefully.
He sighed heavily as he wished he could ease her pain and let her sleep without having so much turmoil in her mind but it was not possible. It would not be possible until this war with Rave was completely over.
Unknown to those in the Alpha's mansion, Rave was a lot more shaken and desperate than Hazel.
She had met with their mother, Lunaria a few days ago and the conversation didn't go as well as she had planned.
Two days ago
Rave was cooling down in the bath tub when she suddenly felt a familiar wind coming in from her window.
She stood up from the tub with her chest bare as she looked around, alert and ready to attack.
“Show yourself”!!
She yelled and Lunaria came out with a knowing smile on her face.
“My darling Rave”.
She said before looking at her perky breasts.
“This is why I like you, you're always ready, no matter the situation.
You're not like your sister who has grown so weak and dependent”.
She gave a look that showed she wasn't pleased at all.
“Then you should have given me the golden orb instead of giving it to her”.
She said but Lunaria smiled.
“That will never happen Rave. But I don't mind if you get it from her, I will be rooting for you”.
She moved closer and placed her hand on Rave's chin but Rave immediately slapped her hand away.
“Do not! touch me”.
She said and Lunaria smiled even more.
“Hazel will soon discover the golden orb Rave.
When she uses the orb to activate the seal, she will be unstoppable and she will defeat you like you are nothing and I… will watch you fall and beg until you die”.
She said but Rave didn't show how she was truly feeling. She couldn't, she didn't want her to see her looking weak.
She didn't want to give her the satisfaction she knew she desperately wanted.
“Watch me Lunaria, I… will be the one to win at the end. And all of you will regret ever looking down on me”.
She said and got out of the tub.
She picked up her towel and was about to walk out when she heard Lunaria speak again.
“You can't win Rave, not when you're this relaxed
Hazel is on her final step to activating the golden orb and here you are, relaxing in a tub while your doom awaits you”.
Rave turned back to her, visibly mad at the fact that she kept telling her she was going to lose.
“Leave”.
She said but Lunaria only moved closer.
Before she could say another word, Rave held her by her neck, strangling her but Lunaria began laughing so hard, it made Rave look at her confused.
“Stop Rave, it's ticklish”.
She said and before Rave could calculate, Lunaria hit her hard on her tummy, causing her to fall back by a long distance.
While Rave was trying to get herself back up, Lunaria clapped her hands together as though she was shaking off some sort of dust.
“You seem to be missing the point Rave".
Her eyes suddenly looked ten times more cold than it was before and her voice became more distant.
“You can not harm me.
If it wasn't against the rules of the underworld, I would have split you into two and get rid of the abomination I created”.
