Chapter 80 The heart that shapes emotions
Kael wasn't just shocked anymore, he was disappointed now.
“I get you're in a hurry to get over with Rave's issue, but do not”!!
He paused, he knew he was getting angry, he could feel his demon crawling out.
That was not something he ever wanted to show Hazel, that was not a part of him he wanted her to see so he stopped, knowing that if he continues, he would say or do something he might end up regretting.
He looked at her for a while, seeing the shock on her face but he said nothing to her and just walked out of the room.
He was glad she was back safe and sound, but he couldn't understand why she was like this all of a sudden.
As soon as he got out of the room, he met Zariel.
Both men looked at each other for a while before they both walked downstairs.
“You seem to have a lot on your mind”.
Zariel spoke after a free minutes of silence.
Kael looked at him, his face wasn't friendly, it was serious, and curious.
“What did you do to her? Why is she suddenly acting like this”?
He asked but Zariel smiled, looking like his playful self.
“I didn't do anything to her alpha Kael, she's nervous”.
He said but Kael immediately shook his head.
“She isn't. That isn't how Hazel would behave when she is nervous. This is something else, something I don't understand… something I don't like”.
He said, looking straight ahead into space.
“Trust me Kael, she is nervous. All she cares about is her family and the people around her. She hardly even cares about herself.
The only reason why she looks like this right now is because she has activated the orb… the key has opened her heart and now… her nervousness looks like determination.
You need to be patient with her and help her control her heart so she doesn't end up getting herself in the process of saving others”.
Kael calmly listened to what Zariel said and now, it made sense why Hazel was acting they way she was.
Her heart had been activated, and it was causing her to eagerly want to get everything done.
She was nervous and it was making her uneasy so she wanted to fix the feeling.
Her heart desperately wanted to feel fulfilled.
“What do you suggest we do”?
Kael asked and Zariel stayed quiet for a while.
“Before I was judged wrongly, and casted away, I have only seen one person who possessed the golden orb as their heart”.
He said and turned to look at Kael seriously.
“He didn't survive it”.
Kael's heart skipped a beat the moment he heard that and it wasn't in a good way.
“He was consumed by the powers he possessed. He was consumed by how strong and almost immortal he had become and he became the exact opposite of what his heart, the golden orb stands for.
Because of that, he was killed, by his own heart.
It's safe to say, he killed himself”.
He explained and Kael swallowed hard.
“So I need to make sure Hazel doesn't get consumed by her powers”.
He said and Zariel nodded.
After a few conversations, Kael went back to the room but Hazel was already fast asleep.
He closed the door gently as to not wake her up before going close to lay next to her.
He didn't touch her, he gave just enough space that he could still take in her scent but not alert her of his presence.
But unknown to him, she had woken up from the very moment he walked in.
“Take off your shirt and come closer”.
He heard her speak but he still didn't say a word. Instead, he did exactly as she said and took off his shirt before wrapping his hand around her waist.
“I'm sorry”.
He heard her speak again after a while.
“I don't know what's happening to me, but I don't feel at ease.
I feel like the only way I will find my peace is if I finally bring her down”.
She added and she heard him breath a bit more heavily.
“I should t have spoken to you like that”.
She added and he finally reacted by shaking his head.
“You don't need to apologize babe. I understand how you feel, but I need you to understand that I will not just sit at watch something bad happen to you or Lucian.
I'm going to be by your side, fight with you, and fight for my pack.
But I need you to trust me well enough to know we can come up with a plan and work on this together rather than being irrational”.
He explained as calmly as he could and he saw her nod.
“I understand you, and I fully agree as well”.
She said and turned to him, making both of them to face each other.
“I missed you Kael".
She said and he gave her a light smile before gently kissing her forehead.
“I missed you too Hazel".
He said but she shook her head.
“Not there, I don't want you kissing me there”.
She said and he smiled even more brightly before kissing her on her nose, teasing her as he knew exactly what she wanted.
“Kael”.
She called and he laughed a bit loudly now as she sounded so cute and a little bit desperate.
“Fine, fine”.
He said before he pulled her up a bit by her waist and kissed her lightly on her lips by Hazel didn't want that, she wanted more.
She leaned in even more and kissed him harder.
Kael wanted it too, he wanted her so much it didn't take anything to get his body activated.
Hazel soon stood, sitting right on top of him and kissing him.
She opened his mouth and slid her tongue in, taking in all of that flavor she had missed so badly.
But after a while, she moved a bit and Kael looked into her eyes, only to see that it was pure gold.
