Chapter 34 He's the son of the devil
“You're being reckless Rave”.
He said but Rave was tired of hearing that.
“Azrael”!
She yelled, looking a big upset.
“You should really begin to watch your words. I'm with you not because I don't have a choice, so you need to decide if you're going to support me or get the fuck away from me”.
She said and he sighed before moving closer and placing his hand that has a burnt mark covered in tattoos on her cheek.
“You know I love you, which is why I don't want you getting hurt”.
He said and she closed her eyes, enjoying the feel of his touch before she opened them again.
“Don't worry, the witch is strong but fragile. I was able to manipulate her vision and I'm sure even she isn't sure of anything.
Plus, Hazel is definitely not going to believe her”.
She said and Azrael nodded.
“Make sure you have everything in control, we can't risk being exposed until everything is ready”.
He said and she smiled.
“Scaredy cat. I wonder how you were able to fight Lucifer".
Hazel soon got to the dinning room but Kael was nowhere to be found so she decided to go check up on him in his study since that was where he spent most of his days but he wasn't there either.
Finally, she decided to check the room and when she got there, he was lying on the bed.
“Do you know how long I've been looking for you”?
She asked as she moved closer but soon, she realized he was breathing heavily and sweating profusely.
“Kael! Kael”!!
She called as she rushed towards him and began shaking him, trying to wake him up.
As soon as he opened his eyes, she was met with eyes that she had never seen before. It was like a mixture of gold and red, dancing in his eyes but it looked fierce.
Before she could react, he grabbed her by the neck, digging his fingers into her skin.
“Kael, come back to your sense”.
She said, trying to calm him down and it seemed to have worked as he blinked severally and his eyes went back to normal.
He immediately removed his hand from her neck and looked at her in shock as she coughed.
“Hazel I… I'm so sorry”.
He said.
After a while, she sat next to him and asked.
“What happened? What did you dream about”?
She asked but he looked at her calmly before he shook his head.
“It wasn't a dream. It felt too real to be a dream”.
He said and she looked even more curious.
“What is it”?
She asked.
“The man we met back in the witches village”?
He said and she nodded.
“I saw him, I saw him clearly”.
A few minutes ago.
Kael wasn't sure when he fell asleep, he had instructed that he wanted to have dinner with Hazel but he suddenly passed out.
Yet, it didn't feel like he passed out, it felt like he slipped into a place he wasn't supposed to be in.
It was cold, he almost couldn't see through the mist, but he suddenly heard someone call him.
Turning around, he saw the very man he had seen in the witches village.
“Who are you”?
Kael asked and the man moved even closer, until he was sure Kael could see him clearly.
“I'm Lucifer, your father”.
Kael's eyes opened wide.
“What nonsense are you spewing? My father is dead”.
He said but Lucifer sighed.
“There's a lot behind your birth that you do not know about yet Kael, but that's not important right now.
If Hazel does not activate the golden orb, she's going to die”.
Kael's eyes opened wide as soon as he heard that.
“What do you mean, what golden orb”?
He asked but Lucifer began moving back.
“She's not strong enough Kael. She's still too weak for the danger that is coming. She needs to harness all of her powers fully”.
He said and soon, he was gone.
Kael kept looking around and soon, different creatures surrounded him, all on their fours ready to devour him. No matter how hard he tried, he couldn't transform and just when they were about to charge at him, he opened his eyes.
But still thinking he was in danger, he attacked Hazel.
“He said I'm his son”.
Kael said trying to take in everything Lucifer said.
“So you mean that man… is Lucifer? Like the devil”?
She asked but he remained silent, lost in his own thoughts.
“This won't do, from tomorrow, you train with me, and we train hard.
I don't know what this golden orb is, but we have to find it”.
He said and she nodded, not arguing even a little bit.
After a while, they went ahead to have their dinner but it wasn't as fun as Kael had envisioned. His body was hot and he was still sweating, his eyes was focused on the food but his mind was somewhere else entirely.
As all he could think about was a way to protect Hazel from whatever was coming.
“Kael”.
He heard her call his name, pulling him out of his thoughts as he raised his head to look at her.
“Nothing is going to happen to me”.
She said with a very gently smile that made him let out a sigh he didn't know had held on for so long.
“I need you to trust me, and work with me. And for now… eat”.
She said and he smiled at her last word before nodding.
After dinner, they both went into their room, and Kael went ahead to have a quick shower.
Hazel stood by the window with her hands folded and her eyes bright with the reflection of the moon.
She tried to act calm in front of Kael but she was also worried.
She wasn't sure what this golden orb was or where to find it and she still hasn't found out who Rave truly is.
With the way Kael spoke, it almost felt like Rave was a problem, but she was definitely not the only thing she had to worry about.
Kael walked out of the bathroom and saw her standing by the window. He called her name but she didn't respond so he moved close to her and unable to resist the urge, he bent a little and place his lips on her bare neck.
