Chapter 33 When the enemy is so close
A servant knocked on the door, drawing both their attentions.
“Miss Cathy is here to see you Luna".
She said and Dona sighed. Hazel nodded at the maid as she dismissed her and turned back to Dona.
“She wanted to see you yesterday, it skipped my mind”.
Dona raised a brow, surprised to hear that Cathy came to see her.
“What does she want”?
Dona asked and Cathy suddenly spoke.
“To get along".
Both ladies turned to see her standing by the door but none of them said anything.
“I'm sorry I spoke to you the way I did, it won't happen again”.
She said as she walked towards Dona.
Dona looked at her for a while, trying to figure out if she was being sincere or not. But asides her obvious nonchalance, she actually looked like she didn't want to be on bad terms.
Dona finally nodded and said.
“It's fine, I'm sorry too”.
She said and Hazel smiled, happy to see that both her friends were finally trying to get along.
Cathy moved closer and stretched out her hand.
“So… were good”?
She asked and Dona looked at her hand before looking back at her. She nodded and shook her hand.
But as soon as Dona's hand touched Cathy's, she immediately pulled it away and looked at Cathy in fear, starling both Hazel and Cathy.
“What was that for”?
Cathy asked but Dona looked too stunned to speak.
It was as if a lion had tried to jump on her.
Cathy ran her fingers through her hair and sighed in frustration.
“I came all the way to make peace and you treat me like this”?
She asked and Hazel immediately noticed they were both getting agitated.
“Calm down Cathy. Dona, tell us what's going on”.
She said and Dona finally spoke.
“It's you”.
She said but Cathy eyed her and squeezed her face as she was pissed.
“The fuck are you saying”?
She asked and Dona moved closer, pushing Hazel aside.
She moved so fast and placed both her hands on Cathy's side and closed her eyes but no matter how hard she tried, she couldn't see anything anymore.
Cathy pushed her hands away and looked even more pissed.
“What is wrong with you”?
She asked and Dona immediately shook her head before holding her hand.
Hazel noticed Dona shivered a bit as soon as their hands touched but she didn't pull away the way she did earlier anymore.
“I'm sorry, I thought I saw something but I was mistaken. I really actually want to be friends”.
She said causing Cathy to look at her confused.
“Hey Hazel"?
Cathy called still looking at Dona.
“I think your friend is a little bit crazy”.
Hazel smiled but not fully. She knew Dona reacted that way for a reason and whatever she saw, it had to do with Cathy.
Cathy soon pulled her hand away and spoke.
“Forget it, it's fine”.
She said and Dona stood stiff for a little while before she nodded with a smile.
Cathy's eyes opened wide as she looked at Dona.
“You… you're bleeding”.
She said and Dona tilted her head a little bit.
“Huh”?
“Your nose! It's bleeding”.
She said, pointing at Dona's nose and soon, both Cathy and Hazel began going around, looking for what would stop the bleeding.
After a while, they all sat on the bed, making sure Dona was fine.
“What happened? Why did you suddenly start bleeding”?
Cathy asked and Dona smiled lightly.
“I'm not sure”.
She said and Cathy nodded.
“You should protect your health more”.
Cathy said and Dona nodded.
Soon, Cathy left as she insisted she needed to handle some things at the boarder.
After Hazel was sure she was gone, she turned to Dona.
“What's going on”?
She asked but Dona sighed heavily.
Even she couldn't explain what she had seen and if she told Hazel what she felt it meant, she wasn't sure Hazel would believe her.
Hazel went back and sat next to her.
“I know you saw something Dona, what is it”?
She asked.
“It's you”.
She said and Dona looked at her in shock.
“What did you mean by that”?
She asked and Dona closed her eyes.
“She's dark Hazel. You might not believe me but she is no ordinary werewolf”.
She said and Hazel raised a brow.
“What are you saying”?
She asked and Dona smiled.
“I knew you wouldn't believe me”.
She said but Hazel shook her head.
“It's not that I don't believe you, I just don't understand”.
She said and Dona looked at her for a very long time before she finally swallowed.
“I'm not sure but I think Cathy is…”
She was about to speak when they heard a knock on the door.
Hazel went towards it and saw a maid outside.
“What is it”?
She asked and the maid bowed.
“Alpha Kael has invited you for dinner. He said he'll wait downstairs”.
She said and Hazel nodded.
“Alright, I'll be there soon”.
She said and the maid left.
Hazel turned back to Dona and spoke.
“Finish your statement, what do you think Cathy is”?
She asked but Dona shook her head.
“It's actually not very important. Have your dinner and we can continue tomorrow”.
She said and Hazel looked at her.
“Are you sure”?
She asked and Dona nodded.
“Of course”.
Hazel nodded and said.
“We'll talk later okay”?
She said and Dona nodded.
After Hazel left, Dona sat on the bed, looking at the door for a very long time.
“Of course, how could I possibly be the one to tell you that the one you have been after all this while was right with you all along”?
She said to herself as her vision played in her head.
“How do I possibly tell you that Cathy and Rave are in fact the same”?
While Dona was conflicted and in a dilemma, Cathy got into her car with an evil smile on her face.
Just when she was about to drive away, the familiar figure appeared again.
“What do you think you're doing? Why did you expose yourself”?
He said and she raised her head to look at him through the mirror.
“For a fallen angel, you're definitely way too scared”.
She said and smiled.
“Besides, I would be too disappointed if the found me themselves”.
