Chapter 59
I smiled happily.
A flood of tenderness swept over me as Mathew curled into a comfortable sleep, snug in his bed. As I gazed over him, I was overcome by a wave of protectiveness; my heart ached from the immense love I had for my baby.
The thought of leaving him, even for a moment, filled me with a sense of unease. He was my everything, my reason for living, and I would do anything to keep him safe from harm.
When Mathew had recounted his ordeal, my heart clenched with a mixture of relief and anger. I was grateful that they hadn't harmed him physically, but the thought of my sweet boy being tied up and forced to sleep in a chair filled me vengeance.
With each word Mathew said, the rage simmered within me, fueled by the wrongdoing of what had happened to my son. I traced the faint marks around his hand, with an image of his unease and agony, and promised to do whatever it took to hold those responsible accountable.
The door creaked open, and Alpha Dominic entered the room, his presence instantly comforting. I felt a rush of warmth as he sat beside us on the bed, his touch gentle as he leaned in to place a kiss on both Mathew's forehead and mine.
Mathew slept peacefully beside us, I turned to Alpha Dominic with a furrowed brow, my thoughts lingering on Sage and the consequences of her actions. "What will you do about Sage?" I asked, my voice barely above a whisper.
"I've ordered the pack warriors to tie her up until tomorrow," he replied, "We can't trust her until we know the real truth behind her actions."
"I want her punished. The bruises on my son's arms from being tied up will not go unpunished. Someone has to pay," I told him. This was the first time I had failed to protect my son, and it hurt me tremendously.
"I feel the same way as you do, my Luna," Dominic acknowledged, his gaze falling upon the scars on my son's hands. His eyes flickered between red and his usual blue, a telltale sign of his simmering anger, though he remained outwardly calm.
Alpha Dominic slowly lifted my top, causing warmth down my back as he put his palm on my stomach. As he lay down next me and Mathew, I felt a wave of contentment flood over me. My family was complete, and in that moment, I felt incredibly lucky.
But beneath the surface, a nagging feeling tugged at my heart. The prophecy of my baby being sacrificed for the Moon-goddess lingered in the back of my mind.
I knew I needed to have a talk with Sage tomorrow, to unravel the truth behind her actions and hopefully find a way to protect my unborn child.
"You're worried about the baby," he stated knowingly, his gaze warm and reassuring.
"How did you know?" I asked, my voice soft with uncertainty.
Alpha Dominic smiled gently, his hand resting on my stomach as if to offer comfort and reassurance. "I can sense it," he replied simply. "But you don't need to worry, Freya. I will protect you, Mathew and our baby at all cost. Nothing will harm us as long as we're together."
Dominic's reassuring words lingered, a sense of peace washed over me. Leaning in, our lips met in a breathtaking kiss, a silent vow passing between us as we shared a moment of profound connection.
Wrapped in each other's embrace, we drifted off to sleep.
The next day...................
I awoke to find Alpha Dominic's side of the bed empty while Mathew was peacefully asleep. With a soft smile, I slipped out of bed and headed downstairs, eager to start the day with my family.
In the kitchen, I began preparing Mathew and Alpha Dominic's favorite breakfast, with the familiar aroma of pancakes and bacon filling the air. As I flipped the pancakes with familiar ease, I found myself unable to but feel at peace.
Mathew raced into the kitchen, his eyes light up at the sight of his favorite breakfast, and I was unable to resist smiling at his enthusiasm. Leaning down, I put a soft kiss to his head, my heart brimming with love for my precious boy.
"Mornin' Mumma!"" Mathew bellowed.
"Morning my sweet prince,"
"Where Daddy?" Mathew asked, his little face scrunched up in curiosity.
"Your dad is out doing his morning checks." I answered, "now eat your breakfast. Your father will be with you soon." I told him.
With Matthew happily munching away on his pancakes, I seized the chance to slip away to the shower. Shedding my clothes, I stepped into the warm water, relishing its soothing embrace as it cascaded over my skin, washing away the worries of the day.
Emerging from the shower, I made my way to the closet, only to feel gentle kisses on my neck, sending a shiver of warmth down my spine. I let out a delighted moan as I caught the intoxicating scent of my mate Dominic standing behind me.
"What about-"
"Shh," Dominic hushed, his lips trailing sweet kisses down my back, sending waves of pleasure coursing through me.
"Matthew is being well taken care of. Nothing will happen to him," he reassured, reading my mind and answering my unspoken question before I had the opportunity to ask.
"I need to know you want me without your heat interfering. I need to feel myself deep within your walls while you tighten around my shaft," Dominic's breath, heavy with desire, fanned my ear, sending shivers down my spine.
I bit my lip, feeling my sex ache painfully with the need for him.
I whimpered, "In that case, then," sinking my head back as Dominic's hand tightened over my breast, sending warmth down the center of my body.
