Chapter 58
Third Person Pov.
Curiously, Oracle Sage glanced at the woman, a flicker of recognition crossing her features. "You are Thalia, the White Witch aren't you?" she asked, her voice barely above a whisper.
The woman's smile widened, her eyes sparkling with amusement. "In the flesh," she replied, her tone playful.
Oracle Sage's heart skipped a beat at the confirmation. Thalia, the renowned White Witch—she had heard tales of her powers and kindness, but never imagined she would find herself in her presence.
While Sage could forsee the future, Thalia the white witch were pure. White witches often possess a deep sense of empathy and compassion, allowing them to connect with others on an emotional level and offer support, comfort, and healing.
White witches often possess the ability to heal wounds, illnesses, and ailments using magical means. They may also have knowledge of herbal remedies and natural healing methods.
White witches can create wards, shields, and protective barriers to defend themselves and others from harm. These protective spells may guard against physical threats, negative energy, or psychic attacks.
They were like white wolves, and oracles blessed by the moon-goddess. However in terms of abilities, white wolves usually possessed more.
Freya just hadn't discovered all her powers yet.
"I have to say though, when I sent Alpha Dominic to you for help, I never thought you would betray him," Thalia said softly, her gaze penetrating.
Oracle Sage felt a pang of remorse at Thalia's words. She had never intended to betray Alpha Dominic, but in her desperation to please her mate, she had acted out of desperation.
"I didn't mean to betray him," Oracle Sage whispered, her voice held regret. "But you have no idea what it's like to be with a mate who only craves power."
She was ashamed, she didn't want Mathew to hear how she had betrayed his father but knew, Mathew was a very smart boy.
She had after all help to kidnap him.
"Your sight must be going for you not to realize that Freya would've solved your entire problem then and there." Thalia says.
Thalia's knowing smile encouraged Sage to connect the dots. The solution to her dilemma had been right in front of her all along. "Freya," she whispered, realization dawning. "Of course..."
The pieces of the puzzle fell into place as Sage recognized the missed opportunity. If only she had turned to Freya sooner, perhaps their troubles could have been resolved without resorting to drastic measures.
Thalia takes Mathew, he was sleepy, Mathew falls asleep within her arms in mere seconds, clearly he trusted her.
"It's not too late to make the right decision," she reassured her.
"I love my mate," she admitted, "But I fear he does not feel the same."
"Freya could change everything," she offered, "She possesses the abilities of changing one's perspective. She has the ability to change someone from evil to good. Just as she did with her own mother. Imagine your mate being a good Alpha? Freya has the power to stop an entire war. Frankly, I'm surprised things have reached this far."
As Thalia spoke, Sage's eyes widened in wonder. The idea of such extraordinary abilities filled her with hope and possibility, a glimmer of light in the darkness of her doubts.
Sage's pulse quickened with a mix of nerves and excitement as she took Mathew from Thalia's hand. The weight of her choice lingered in the back of her mind - returning to Alpha Dominic's pack after taking his son would undoubtedly raise eyebrows.
Hopefully they could forgive her.
With Mathew secure in her arms, Sage followed Thalia to what looked like the front door of her home. As they stepped through, suddenly they were back in Alpha Dominic's territory.
Pack warriors suddenly appeared, their commanding presence demanding Sage to release Mathew. Before Sage could react, Thalia swiftly intervened, her authoritative voice ordering them to stand down.
Though reluctant, the warriors, begrudgingly yielding to Thalia's authority knowing she was a friend of the pack and was currently highly sought after by Alpha Dominic.
Mind-linked and sensing their son, Alpha Dominic, Freya, and a few others suddenly rushed out. Their eyes were fixated on their son, nestled in Sage's arms, and their expressions varied from relief to happiness.
Sage felt the weight of their collective gaze, knowing she needed to explain herself and seek forgiveness for her actions.
"Mathew!" Freya's voice rang out, filled with both relief and joy.
At the sound of his mother's voice, Mathew's eyes fluttered open. With a wide smile, he spotted Freya and Alpha Dominic. Without hesitation, he ran into their waiting arms, his little heart filled with love and happiness.
"Mumma, daddy!" Mathew bellowed.
Freya and Alpha Dominic's faces lit up with pure joy as they embraced their son, holding him close and showering him with affection.
"My baby!" Freya cried, kissing Mathew all over.
Freya's heart swelled with relief as she enveloped Mathew in a tight embrace, peppering his face with kisses. "Are you okay, sweetheart? Are you hungry? Did they hurt you?" she asked in a rush, her words tumbling out in her eagerness to ensure her son's well-being.
Mathew giggled as he squirmed in her arms, his voice muffled against her shoulder. "Mumma, I can't breathe," he protested, his laughter infectious as he struggled to catch his breath amidst Freya's affectionate onslaught.
Freya's laughter mingled with Mathew's as she released him from her tight embrace, her eyes shining with tears of joy. "Sorry, sweetheart," she said, her voice filled with love. "I'm just so happy to have you back safe and sound." With Mathew held close.
With Mathew cradled in her arms, Freya cast one last glance at Sage, her expression unreadable. Without a word, she turned away and began to walk, her steps purposeful as she carried her son away from the scene.
With Mathew safely back in his parents' arms, Sage's heart swelled with remorse. She stepped forward, her voice trembling as she begged for forgiveness.
Alpha Dominic's expression hardened as he listened to Sage's plea. With a solemn nod, he ordered the pack warriors to bind her up. "We will deal with you in the morning," he declared, "But for now, our son is back, and that is all that matters."
With Mathew safely returned and their resolve strengthened by the presence of the Oracle Sage and the White Witch Thalia, Alpha Dominic and Freya knew that the time had come to take action.
They had faced countless challenges, but now, with their son back in their arms and powerful allies at their side, they were ready to confront the rogues and Alpha Lucas once and for all.
