Chapter 169 You Only Have These Means
Chapter 170 Seeking Help from Mira
After saying that, he stopped looking at Dashiell, scooped Keira up in his arms, and headed straight for the door.
Dashiell stared hard at his retreating figure carrying Keira away, his hands clenched into tight fists at his sides.
"Aiden, we'll see about this."
He muttered under his breath, his voice brewing with a terrifying coldness.
The private jet took off overnight, crossing the ocean.
When Keira regained consciousness, she was already back at the familiar Willow Green Manor.
She snapped her eyes open.
What met her gaze was a familiar ceiling.
Wasn't she in Westerland? How could she wake up and find herself back in this prison?
She was back—Aiden had forcibly brought her back!
Just then.
The bedroom door was gently pushed open.
Aiden walked in carrying breakfast.
He had changed into dark-colored loungewear, his face still showing fatigue.
Only his eyes lit up with a spark when he saw her awake.
Like finding a lost treasure that had been recovered.
He placed the breakfast on the nightstand—it contained foods she used to like, steaming hot.
"You're awake. How do you feel?" he asked, his voice a bit hoarse, as if nothing from last night had happened.
Keira propped herself up to sit, staring hard at him, her eyes full of disbelief.
"What did you do?"
"Nothing much, just brought you home. This is your home, Keira. You've been out playing long enough—it's time to come back."
Keira felt like she'd heard the biggest joke. She threw off the covers wanting to get out of bed,
but felt dizzy and lightheaded, stumbling and having to grab the bedpost to barely steady herself.
She lifted her head, eyes red as she glared at him,
"This isn't my home, it never was!"
Seeing her agitated and breaking down, the pretense of calm in Aiden's eyes instantly shattered.
He slammed the bowl back onto the tray with a loud crash!
He moved closer, his tall figure looming over her. "You want to go find Dashiell? You think he can save you?"
"I don't want to see you!" Keira was forced backward until her spine hit the wall—nowhere left to retreat.
Overwhelmed by despair and nearly breaking down, she covered her ears as tears poured out,
"Get out, just get out, I don't want to see you!"
That final "get out" pierced straight through Aiden's heart.
He opened his mouth, wanting to say something, but found his throat blocked, unable to make any sound.
Finally, he just looked at her deeply once, then walked out of the bedroom.
Late at night, after confirming Aiden had left, Keira quietly took out her phone and dialed Sean's number.
The call was answered almost instantly, Sean's anxious voice coming through,
"Keira! How are you? Has Aiden hurt you?"
"I'm fine." Keira kept her voice very low. "What about Apollo and Ella? Are you safe?"
"Safe, don't worry!" Sean answered immediately. "We've moved to an absolutely safe place. The kids miss you so much."
Keira's tightly wound nerves finally relaxed for a moment.
"That's good. Sean, thank you for everything. Please take good care of them."
"What else do you need me to do?" Sean asked without hesitation.
"Nothing for now. I need some time to handle some things."
A flash of complexity crossed her eyes, but was quickly replaced by determination,
"I'll contact you once I've made arrangements."
After hanging up, Keira hid the phone again and leaned against the headboard, closing her eyes wearily.
Leaving—easier said than done.
A few days later, Keira took the initiative to ask Aiden if she could go out for a bit, get some air—being cooped up in the room all day was suffocating.
When Aiden heard this request, he was in his study handling documents.
At her words, the pen in his hand paused.
"Where do you want to go?" he asked, his tone revealing no emotion.
"Just walk around." Keira lowered her eyes, her voice flat and calm. "Won't be long."
Aiden was silent for a few seconds, then finally nodded. "Alright, I'll have the driver take you."
He wanted to see what kind of trick she was trying to pull.
The car drove out of the manor.
In the rearview mirror, Justin and two bodyguards followed at a distance in their car.
Keira leaned back in the rear seat, watching the familiar street scenes rapidly retreating outside the window, her heart ice-cold.
She gave the name of a shopping mall in the city center.
However, after the car entered the mall's underground parking garage, Keira didn't walk into the mall. Instead, she told the driver,
"I just remembered something else. Go to The Coleman Estate."
The driver froze, looking at Justin through the rearview mirror.
Justin frowned too, but Aiden's order was to "follow," without restricting where Keira could go, so he signaled the driver to comply.
The car turned around and headed toward The Coleman Estate.
Justin's doubts grew—she was going to see Mira? What was she trying to do?
At The Coleman Estate, Mira was leisurely having afternoon tea.
When the servant announced "Ms. Grey is here to visit," she was so startled she nearly knocked over her teacup.
"She dares to come here?" Mira's face instantly darkened, her eyes full of contempt.
That Keira who had turned her household upside down actually dared to show up on her own?
"Let her in!" Mira said coldly. She wanted to see what tricks this woman was trying to pull now!
Led by a servant, Keira walked into the sitting room.
Mira sat in the main seat, glancing at her from the corner of her eye. Before she could speak, Keira said, "I want to discuss a deal with you."
"A deal?" Mira acted like she'd heard a joke.
She sneered, "You—a woman who was thrown out by my son, worthless except for that face—what makes you qualified to discuss a deal with me?"
Keira remained completely unmoved. She took a step forward, meeting Mira's gaze directly and openly.
Word by word, she said,
"I can leave Aiden, leave forever, disappear completely and cleanly, but you have to help me."
The sitting room instantly fell deathly silent!
The cutting sneer on Mira's face froze instantly. She stared wide-eyed at Keira. "You... what did you say?"
Keira met Mira's shocked gaze and repeated again.
"I said, please help me. I know you despise me, wish I would disappear from this world.
Now, the opportunity has come. As long as you're willing to help me this once, I promise, you'll get your wish."
Mira's shock lasted a long time.
She stared at Keira, trying to find a trace of lying on her calm face, but she couldn't see anything. Keira was serious.
She really wanted to leave Aiden, even willing to ask for help from the person who despised her most.
After weighing it all, Mira took a deep breath and snorted coldly,
"Help you? Why should I trust you? And what makes you think I can help you? Or rather, that it's worth helping you?"
"Because you and I both want the same thing—for Aiden to get back on track, for me to disappear completely." Keira hit the nail on the head, her tone still calm,
"As for whether you can help and whether it's worth it—with your status and influence in the Coleman family, arranging for someone to leave quietly, I think, isn't difficult."
