Chapter 157: Traveling to Elyndor

Chapter 158: Loved the Wrong Person

Aiden added, "There's an international project over there I need to handle. I'll take you along to help you relax. Get ready, we're leaving in an hour."

"When are we coming back?" Keira asked.

"Three days from now, in the afternoon," Aiden said flatly.

In three days. Her flight was in three days, in the evening.

Keira quickly calculated in her mind.

The timing was tight, but if everything went smoothly, she might just manage to handle everything before leaving.

She said no more and agreed.

In these last few days, she didn't want any complications, and she didn't want to anger him.

That evening, the two of them boarded the plane together.

After the plane leveled off, exhaustion washed over her, and Keira gradually drifted into a light sleep.

Aiden gazed at her sleeping profile with complicated emotions.

The cabin lights cast soft shadows on her face. Without all her usual defenses, she looked heartbreakingly tender.

He reached out his hand, almost touching her cheek, but pulled back sharply at the last moment.

She didn't want him to touch her.

Better to wait a bit longer, until she was ready to accept him.

Just then, the plane suddenly lurched violently, shaking up and down without warning.

Keira woke instantly, a flash of panic in her eyes.

But before she could even cry out, Aiden had already moved with lightning speed, pulling her tightly into his arms.

His movements were shockingly fast!

"Don't be afraid!" Aiden's deep voice sounded in Keira's ear, carrying a hint of tension.

His embrace was exceptionally warm, radiating a reassuring presence.

The fear in Keira's heart actually subsided quite a bit.

The turbulence quickly passed, and the plane stabilized.

Still shaken, Keira lifted her head and found herself looking directly into his deep eyes, so close she could feel his breath.

They were extremely close, their breathing audible to each other.

Her heart skipped a beat, and an unfamiliar emotion brushed across her heart like a feather.

She instinctively pulled away from his embrace, her tone somewhat stiff. "I'm fine now, thank you."

Aiden's arms froze in mid-air, then slowly withdrew, with a hint of self-mockery.

He was silent for a moment, then pulled out a tablet from his briefcase and held it in front of her.

Keira looked at it with confusion.

What appeared on the screen was actually a travel wish list for Elyndor that she had written years ago on a private social media account.

It listed the snowy scenery she wanted to see, the cathedral she wanted to visit, and the cuisine she wanted to try.

She looked up at him in shock, staring blankly.

How did he know about this account and this list? She had forgotten about it herself!

Aiden avoided her searching gaze. "I happened to have business here anyway. It's on the way."

His profile was cold and imposing, yet somehow carried an inexplicable tenderness.

So strange.

Keira lowered her eyes, hiding the complex emotions churning within them, and said nothing.

No matter what he did, she was determined to leave.

That list belonged to the naive, foolish Keira of years ago. That version of her had long since died.

The plane arrived in Elyndor several hours later.

After Aiden finished handling his business, he brought Keira to a famous hotel in the city center.

Keira was distracted, but when she pushed open the suite door, she was greeted by a pile of gifts.

Even though Keira was used to luxury goods, she couldn't help but pause slightly!

From limited edition luxury handbags and jewelry to the latest and most expensive fashion and shoes of the season, plus some rare art pieces and decorative items. A dazzling array, piled up like small mountains!

And in every corner of the room, even on the dining table, were large bouquets of fresh white roses, surrounded by her favorite lilacs, their fragrance pleasant and refreshing.

Those were her favorite flowers.

Aiden stood behind her, hands in his pockets, looking somewhat uncomfortable, even a bit awkward.

He looked away, his voice stiff. "Just picked them up randomly. If you don't like them, throw them out."

Keira looked at the room full of "randomly picked up" items, her heart feeling like something had hit it hard, an indescribable sourness.

She was silent for a long time before speaking softly, "Aiden, you really don't need to do this. These things are meaningless."

"Take them or leave them!" Aiden's tone suddenly turned cold and hard, even angry with embarrassment.

He stopped looking at her, went into the inner room, and shut the door!

Inside the room, Aiden leaned against the door, breathing rapidly.

He pulled out a small medicine bottle from his inside jacket pocket, shook out an antihistamine, and swallowed it dry without even looking.

The scent of lilacs and white roses made his nose itch and his whole body uncomfortable.

But he just wanted her to be a little happy when she saw them.

Even just a little bit.

Outside the door, Keira stood alone in the center of those priceless gifts.

She couldn't help but remember when she had just married into the Coleman family, how she had carefully prepared birthday gifts for him, only to have him casually toss them in a corner.

How ironic.

She had hoped countless times before to travel with him, but she never imagined that when it finally happened, it would be under these circumstances.

When Aiden came out of the room, his breathing was somewhat labored.

Even more alarming, large patches of red hives were rapidly appearing on his exposed neck and arms.

"What's wrong with you?" Keira was startled when she saw his condition and immediately stepped forward to support him. "I'm taking you to the hospital!"

"No need, it's nothing serious, I'll be fine after lying down." Aiden tried to push her away, but his legs gave way, and before he could finish speaking, his vision went dark, and he fell straight backward!

"Aiden!"

Keira cried out, using all her strength to support him, called emergency services, and notified Justin.

The ambulance and Justin arrived almost simultaneously.

The medical staff quickly administered antihistamines and epinephrine to Aiden.

The situation temporarily stabilized, but he needed to be taken to the hospital for observation.

In the chaos, Keira remembered the alarming red rash on Aiden's arms and couldn't help but grab Justin.

"Justin, how could his allergy be so severe? What is he allergic to?"

Justin glanced at Aiden being lifted onto the stretcher and sighed.

"Mr. Coleman has an allergic constitution. He's allergic to many things, especially common things like pollen and dust mites."

"Pollen allergy."

Keira was thunderstruck and staggered back a step.

She could no longer hear what Justin said after that. Only one voice echoed madly in her mind.

Pollen allergy!

He was allergic to pollen!

When she was bullied as a child, that boy in her memory had personally given her a bouquet of flowers!

How could someone with a severe pollen allergy so naturally give her flowers?

The only explanation was that the boy wasn't Aiden at all!

In other words, she had loved the wrong person, hated the wrong person, been entangled with the wrong person all along!

More than ten years of obsession and pain had been an absurd misunderstanding.

The enormous shock instantly overwhelmed her.

She leaned against the cold wall, her body trembling, barely able to breathe.

At the hospital, after emergency treatment, Aiden's symptoms were brought under control, and he regained consciousness.

Justin went in to report the situation.

"Where is she?" Aiden's voice was hoarse, his first words asking about Keira.
