Chapter 46 CHAPTER 46
SERA'S POV
The whole weekend was spent with Naomi.
She was in my room but we still texted to avoid my family finding out what I did.
Sometimes I fear Aunt Kelly would find out and I'll have to tell her again so I guess these texts would help.
Because there's no way I'm navigating this madness alone.
Like how in the world am I developing muscles?
On Thursday last week, I actually won in a sparring session, even though I came out with a bloody nose and broken fingers, she tapped out.
It was wild and exhilarating, another proof that my life had taken a one-eighty turn to madness.
So yes, I needed my best friend to cling to a bit of my sanity.
And as though that wasn't crazy enough, Mr Fabian and I have been spending every lunch together.
Like it was normal now, nobody blinked at it anymore, not even the teachers or the school authority.
I don't know how or why but for some reason, I didn't get in trouble. I mean, it's not like we did anything, but it was still abnormal.
My foot was already out the door when Aunt Kelly called me back.
I went to her in the living room where she was organising her travel bag.
As the Beta, she was always travelling to other Packs for alliances that the Alpha couldn't go to. And since she's a better person to deal with, they kind of just prefer her.
Now that I knew these things, all her absences made more sense.
"You called?"
"Yes. Don't go for after-school training today. Your uncle will be taking you to the Council building in Memphis."
"Why? What did I do? I've already told everyone that the vampire isn't back. You can ask Tori."
"Yes, but that's not why you're being called in. They need to train you differently for the other thing. You'll have your mission for becoming a full blood given to you as well."
"Cara mentioned that alongside her kills the other day. What does that even mean?"
She stopped her parking and looked at me, exasperation on her face.
"Go to school, Sera. I'll see you when I get back."
I frowned but I took that as the dismissal it was and turned around.
Edgar drove me in his car since Uncle John would be picking me up later."
My time was spent worrying until he came to class.
He didn't teach, just signalled me over and then walked away.
"Damn girl, when are you going to have a taste of that?" Pragya said as I got up,. literally licking her lips like a cat.
"You're crazy," I chuckled, if only to chase away the tightness in my throat.
I'm not jealous. I'm not jealous. Can't be, won't be.
Sabrina laughed at my mantra, well, it was more like mockery but I got to his office without losing my mind.
My worry for the council trip faded into the background the second I closed the door.
He wasn't sitting down, he just stood not too far away, his hand in his cargo pants pocket while the other thumbed around a ring on his index finger.
"Am I in trouble?" I asked.
"You could never do anything wrong, love."
"Why do you call me that? Even though you know people will hear and make assumptions."
"What assumptions?" He asked, taking a step towards me.
"That we're, y'know... A thing."
I know he's my Soul mate but he's human and I assumed all of his attention to me was just him feeling a side effect of the bond.
But sometimes he acted like he... Knew.
"I'm not one for rules, Sera. But I know you are and I've been trying to hold myself back on your account. But I don't think I can do that anymore."
"What are you talking about?"
He was an inch away from me now.
"Can I kiss you?"
"B..but you're my.."
"Yes or no. Those are your options."
Without thinking, "yes. Please," I added, all of the restraints I'd been building since that embarrassing afternoon shattering.
His hands circled around my neck and he lowered his lips to mine, the connection making me shiver.
I opened up wider when he dug deeper, licking my lips hungrily.
Releasing a sigh, he carried me off the ground and wrapped my legs around his torso.
All I could feel, see and think was Fabian.
His lips, his groans, his hand around my body.
I was swimming in pleasure, need and a connection I didn't know would form so early.
This is exactly what I was looking for when Kane was chasing after me.
This overwhelming feeling of a square peg in a square hole.
It felt right to be in his arms, swallowed by his intensity.
I didn't swallow uncomfortably, he gave me pleasure and I chased after more.
He didn't fail to deliver.
Our bodies meshed together and I stopped thinking about oxygen until I was close to passing out.
I pulled back, panting hard.
"You taste better than I imagined," he said, his voice thick with desire.
"Better than I dreamed of," I whispered in response.
"You were dreaming about me?" He smirked, dropping me on his table.
"You have no idea," I breathed out, "I thought it was impossible for us to be together but I don't control my dreams, so."
"We will be together. I will make sure of it. I'll be travelling home but I will be back soon."
"You're leaving?"
"Just for a bit. I can't stay away from you even if I tried. Where's your phone?"
I handed it to him, still reeling from the mess of emotions I was having.
How do you kiss somebody like that and then tell them you're leaving?
He put his number in and handed it back to me.
"Where are you going?"
"England."
"But you speak French."
"And Latin, Dutch and others. I prefer England though."
"I just realised I barely know anything about you, we're always talking about me."
"Don't worry, once I'm not being distracted by these pretty lips of yours, you can ask me anything. Will you miss me, love?"
"You're leaving now?"
Gosh, why am I tearing up?
"Yes, my flight is two hours away and I have to drive, unfortunately. My brother has to sleep."
"Your brother is here with you?"
"Yes, he's picking me up now. I'll see you soon. It shouldn't take more than a week and I'll keep you updated."
I nodded and left, straight to the bathroom where I cried out my frustrations.
