Chapter 110

“Actually, I think so. The shot must have been from a distance so all the buckshot is just below the skin. Nothing too major and I can deal with it here.”

“Good because he will be getting his ass kicked as soon as he is healed.” Hector says with a chuckle.

It takes the doctor about an hour to get all the buckshot out from under his skin and stitch him up. He does an x-ray to make sure there is none he is missing and everyone is relieved that there isn’t any.

Gavin finally starts waking up close to 10pm. Everyone is crowded around him in the living room as he starts coming to.

“You fucking dickhead. I can’t believe you did that without knowing what was behind the door.” Hector says with a murderous tone as he glares at Gavin.

“I’m sorry man. I had to make sure we caught them all.” Gavin says with a scratchy throat.

“Hector lay off he was just shot.” Octavio says with a chuckle as he wraps his arms around Gloria and pulls her into his chest.

“Are you hungry or thirsty?” Veronica asks him.

“Yeah I’m a little bit of both.” He says with a chuckle. He tries to sit up more but winces in pain which causes Hector to run forward and help him sit upright. “Thanks man. I’m sorry I worried you.”

“You should be.” Hector says with a chuckle. “Now don’t do stupid shit like that ever again.”

“Deal. I learned my lesson so don’t worry about it.” Gavin says with a chuckle and a smile.

“Good because you aren’t allowed to leave remember.” Veronica says in a weak voice to Gavin.

Gavin smiles and nods his head slightly. “Of course, I remember.”

“Now we just need to find you a woman willing to put up with your shit.” Vicente says with a laugh.

“Yeah and Hector too.” Gavin says as he tries to laugh.

“Jefe. Can I talk to you a minute please?” Gloria asks. “Privately.”

“Of course, dear.” Luis carefully sets Veronica on the couch and kisses her head before he gets up to follow Gloria.

They go outside and away from the house a little way. Luis nods to the team leaders making sure everything is secure before he follows farther.

“What’s going on Gloria?”

“I want to tell you something and I don’t want anyone to hear me right now.”

“Okay. What’s up?”

“Two things. One really important and one not so much.”

“Okay let’s start with the not so much then.” Luis says with a chuckle.

“Well, my bridesmaids. I don’t know if you seen them today or not but they both want to meet Gavin and Hector. When you guys were just talking about that it reminded me so maybe you can help me set them up?”

“Yes of course. They both need it.” Luis says with a chuckle.

Gloria giggles and then looks down.

“I’m not sure how to say this so I am just going to come out with this. There is a reason that my parents were so okay with what you do and Octavio’s past. Unfortunately, I just overhead them fighting over it. I don’t think they know that I know yet.”

“What do you mean?”

Gloria continues to look down. “I’m sorry. I should have paid more attention. I don’t think I wanted to see it though.”

“Please Gloria just tell me. We would not ever blame you for something someone else did. I promise.”

“My mother has been having an affair with Veronica’s uncle Joe since before my parents were married and my father was sleeping with her Aunt Clara. They were working with Joe. I just heard them arguing about who would be responsible for the next steps. I think they are going to try to kill you all.”

Luis doesn’t hear anything else. He turns and runs yelling behind. “Alpha lead. Secure Gloria. Make sure she is safe all the time.”

He runs straight into the house to find a stunned Vicente and Hector staring at him knowing something bad has happened. “GET EVERYONE SECURE NOW.” He yells at Vicente. He nods and some of the guards help to move Veronica and Gavin. More guards go to secure the triplets and their dates into a panic room as they are in another wing in the game room which is also a panic room.

Luis draws his gun and heads into the kitchen area where he knows that Gloria’s parents were before. He puts in an ear piece for Cody to direct him. “Cody get me to Gloria’s parents now.”

“Yes Jefe. It looks like they are in moving quickly towards where Veronica is. I have already set the panic settings to your wing so they cannot reach her.”

Luis turns around and runs back towards their wing of the castle. When he gets to the living room he sees them trying to creep back into the living room like nothing is going on.

“Are you both lost?” Luis asks them trying to make it seem like he doesn’t know what’s going on.

“Jefe Gloria says she knows you will have to kill them and she says she is okay with that.”

“No Luis we’re not lost. We were just looking for Veronica and Gloria. We haven’t seen them in a little while.” Claudia Ramirez says.

“Oh okay. Well, I can tell you that they are both secure away from both of you.” Luis says in a dark murderous voice.

“So, I see you finally figured us out. How much do you know?”

“More than you think.” Luis says as he nods to the guards who subdue them both. They are tied up and gagged. “Take them to the chamber and we’ll be there soon.”

“Yes, Jefe.” The guards say in unison.

“Cody, follow them to make sure they make it to the chambers without any interference and I am going to go get Veronica.”

“Of course, Jefe. I have lifted the panic alerts too so everyone should be able to move around freely again.”

“Thanks Cody.”

Just then Luca and Michael come running into the living room. “Dad what’s going on?” Luca asks.
