Chapter 59 They are missing Rossie
Kelly snorted in annoyance when she thought about this. She reluctantly stopped hurting Catherine. However, when she saw the girl helplessly in Hannah's arms, the urge to retaliate returned, but she didn't want to use violence.
She immediately approached the two of them, and at that moment Catherine buried her face in Hannah's body, but her eyes glanced at what Kelly was going to do to her. Kelly immediately grabbed her favorite princess doll and threw it out the window.
Catherine's eyes widened and she screamed, “Ah! My princess!”
“It's just a junk princess doll, what are you crying about?” Kelly snorted coldly, then smiled mockingly at her and left Catherine's room.
Catherine cried her heart out until her chest rose and fell. Hannah tried to calm her down, but Catherine got up and ran out of the room.
Just then, Bryce arrived and was surprised to see his sister looking panicked and sad.
Bryce immediately approached her with a gentle gaze. Catherine was the only one of Miranda's descendants he cared about. The girl's innocence fostered brotherly affection in him, even though their relationship was not very close.
“What's wrong, Catherine, why do you look so panicked?” He quickly stopped Catherine, who was running around.
Catherine looked at Bryce with tears streaming down her face. “Princess! My princess is gone. Kelly threw her out the window, huuuu.”
Bryce sighed deeply while Catherine cried even harder. Bryce then put his arm around her shoulders and said, “Don't worry. I'll help you find her.”
Bryce took Catherine to the park. There, they saw the princess doll lying in a puddle of mud with her face facing the ground.
Bryce didn't care about his clean clothes and expensive leather shoes. He immediately stepped over and said, “I see it, wait here, I'll get it.”
Catherine nodded, her crying subsiding at that moment.
“This is your princess, but it's very dirty,” said Bryce as he handed Catherine her princess doll.
Catherine hugged it tightly to her chest. It was as if she had found a precious treasure.
Bryce snorted in annoyance. Her family was very wealthy, but why did Catherine only have this one doll? Could it be that Miranda had no intention of buying her any more? Kelly had a closet full of luxury items, but not Catherine.
“That doll is dirty, it's hard to clean, you'd better throw it away. I'll take you to the mall and buy you a new one. You can choose any doll you like,” Bryce said gently.
Bryce meant well. If Miranda and her father couldn't buy Catherine a toy, then he didn't mind buying her one. Consider this a gift for Catherine for speaking up for Rossie at the auction earlier.
However, to Bryce's surprise, Catherine shook her head at his offer. She hugged the doll even tighter.
“Why, Catherine?” Bryce asked attentively.
“Don't you like it?”
Catherine shook her head quickly. “No! I only want this doll! It's Princess, a gift from Rossie. She's my favorite!”
Catherine cried loudly and said again, “Now Rossie is gone, Princess is the only one who keeps me company!”
Bryce felt his heart pound at that moment. He had never realized that Catherine loved Rossie so much. They were not related by blood, but their relationship was so close that he could feel Catherine's warmth towards Rossie.
“Huh! Her own mother and sister didn't care about her, but with Rossie, she could be this close. Was Rossie really that loving?” Bryce thought to himself.
Meanwhile, Catherine also began to remember the times when Rossie was here. She was so kind and caring towards her. Now Catherine felt how difficult it was to live in a big mansion without that woman's presence.
Soon, she thought about how her stepfather ignored her and was always cold towards her, just like Miranda, her mother. The worst part was that Kelly kept bothering her all the time.
“Bryce!” The young woman ran over and hugged her brother. She cried, “Is Rossie coming back? I miss her so much! Can you not divorce her?”
Bryce was stunned and slightly opened his lips. He felt an invisible lump in his throat.
He didn't know how to answer Catherine. Bryce sighed deeply and gently stroked Catherine's hair. He couldn't even say anything.
Sometimes Catherine acted childish, and sometimes she was so mature, like now. Bryce was afraid of breaking her heart by telling her the truth.
At that moment, his phone rang. It was a call from his grandmother, which was enough to interrupt his train of thought.
“Yes, Grandma, what is it?”
“Why can't I call Rossie at all?”
The older Lucia got, the more childish she became. She sounded like she was about to cry on the other end of the line.
"What's wrong with Rossie? I haven't been able to reach her at all lately! She doesn't even visit me anymore! Does she not want to see me anymore? Bryce, you stupid boy! This is all your fault! If Rossie doesn't care about me anymore, I won't consider you my grandson anymore!“
”Grandma, Rossie still cares about you. Don't worry too much." Bryce massaged the spot between his eyebrows, feeling anxious.
“Quickly call Rossie for me! I want to see my beloved daughter-in-law! Find her, damn it!” Grandma shouted.
“Um, but Grandma, Rossie is...”
Before Bryce could finish his sentence, Grandma shouted again. “I don't care! You have to call her and ask her to meet me right now!”
