Chapter 20 The Possessive Marcus
At that moment, Bryce was startled to hear the shout directed at him. He was just as surprised by the man who suddenly came up and yelled at him.
"I... I..." Bryce hadn't had time to speak, but the man immediately entered the bathroom and pulled Rossie into his arms.
"Dare to mess with Rossie, and I'll break your bones!" Marcus threatened, pointing his finger at Bryce. Marcus's eyes were red with anger.
Bryce furrowed his brow. He was even more confused about his ex-wife. Rossie had just confessed her love for him, but the possessive attitude of the man who was with her at the club this time was completely beyond reason.
What was surprising was that Bryce knew Marcus's reputation as a famous lawyer and a member of the Cavendish family. Which meant he was the younger brother of Dominic Cavendish, CEO of the Nexus group.
'Marcus Cavendish cares about Rossie, too? What is this? If it's concern for his future sister-in-law, isn't this too soon? Could Rossie have been cheating on me for a long time, causing Marcus Cavendish to act so emotionally? Or could Rossie be cheating on me with both of them?' Bryce wondered to himself, trying to guess.
"Mr. Marcus, Rossie has a low tolerance for alcohol and just threw up. If you really care about her, you shouldn't have brought her to a place like this."
Marcus narrowed his eyes at Bryce and said, "I have the right to accompany Rossie wherever she wants to go. If she wants to have fun, then I will have fun with her. Bryce Johansen, you and Rossie are divorced. Where she wants to go is none of your business! You should take care of your Miss Jones! "
Marcus led Rossie to the exit, but Bryce grabbed his shoulder.
" What do you want? "
" Do you love her?" Bryce asked, pointing at Rossie. His voice was firm and his gaze cold.
Marcus almost opened his mouth to answer Bryce's question. But Rossie's ex-husband continued. "Do you know what this woman is like? She's not a good woman! She's a woman who likes to seduce established men for her own personal gain, and you're not the only man she's approached!"
Marcus clenched his fists tightly upon hearing Bryce's words.
"Take that back!" Marcus threatened.
But Bryce just chuckled when he heard that. "That's not all. You'll be surprised when you find out who the other man is."
"He's your brother, Dominic Cavendish!" Bryce continued, then clapped his hands. "Rossie is really something. She just got divorced, but she's already dating the Cavendish brothers. Wow, very impressive! "
Marcus was furious when he heard Bryce's words. He clenched his fists tightly and raised his hands, ready to punch Bryce.
But just as his hands were about to hit Bryce's face, he heard Rossie cough." Oh, I'm so tired. I really can't take it anymore. I want to go home!"
Marcus immediately lowered his hand and turned to Rossie. Now he had to take his sister home immediately before something bad happened.
"You're lucky this time! Next time I see you, I'll beat you up!" Marcus exclaimed, then turned and took Rossie out of the club.
"If you don't intend to marry Rossie and just want to play with her, you'd better forget about it! Let Rossie live a normal life and find her happiness," Bryce suddenly said with a blank stare.
Marcus paused for a moment and turned to Bryce.
"Hahaha. Bryce, I've never met anyone as brave as you. When you divorced Rossie for Lily, did you ever think about Rossie's feelings? You made her a young widow. Didn't you think that would hurt her? If you really planned to divorce her, why did you marry her for three years? Aren't you just using her so you can marry your first love? You hypocrite!"
After saying this, Marcus left, taking Rossie with him to the car. Meanwhile, Bryce cleaned the tears from his clothes before returning to the club to meet Randall. He kept thinking about Marcus's words.
"Huh!" Bryce threw himself on the sofa and drank the whiskey in his shot glass in one gulp.
"What happened? You're in such a bad mood after helping Rossie earlier?" asked Randall.
Bryce exhaled deeply and muttered in response. "She left with Marcus Cavendish!"
Bryce refilled his whiskey glass and downed it in one gulp, feeling the burning sensation in his throat.
"If it weren't for you, I would have beaten Dylan to a pulp tonight. Using drugs is bad enough, but he even dared to approach my girl. He deserves to die." Randall gritted his teeth in anger.
"No need to feel sorry. Lily and her brother are two different individuals. What her brother did has nothing to do with Lily."
After saying this, Bryce suddenly realized something in Randall's words, and it surprised him; his eyebrows furrowed. "Wait! You said my girl? Who do you mean by my girl?"
Randal smiled thinly. "Ha ha, of course, your ex-wife. I thought I'd better date Rossie since you no longer want her. Now that you two are no longer husband and wife, that means you've given up on her, so of course I'll gladly take over responsibility for her. "Randall raised his eyebrows and smiled cynically, then continued," Soon she'll be like your sister-in-law. I wonder if you'll be able to adapt to that."
Randall's words pierced Bryce's heart. He didn't think his best friend would approach his ex-wife after the divorce. Many beautiful women surrounded Randall, but why did he want Rossie?
"The divorce isn't final yet, and you're already rushing to claim her as yours?" Bryce's eyes darkened, and his lips curved into a cold smile.
"Didn't you sign the divorce papers? Now you're just waiting for the certificate to come out, right?"
"I don't know about anything else." Jasper clenched his fists, and his face darkened. "But your death is not far off. Relax, Bryce, I can still wait," Randall continued, patting his friend on the shoulder.
Bryce glared at Randall. Hearing this, his heart ached. It seemed that he had just realized how important the woman who had been with him was in the eyes of another man.
'What did Rossie do to make the Cavendish brothers so possessive and protective of her? Even Randall is really into her.'
