Chapter 11 Lost Sense
Once upon a time, moments like this were something she eagerly anticipated, because Rossie loved Bryce so much. But this time, she felt nothing but disgust in his embrace.
Rossie stood up straight and said coldly, "Thank you."
"Answer my question," Bryce insisted.
"I'm no longer your wife. I'm not obligated to tell you," Rossie sneered.
"Since you said we're even, why don't you let me go? Even though I used a fake identity, I never did anything to hurt you during the three years we were together, right?" Rossie replied, then turned and left Bryce.
But suddenly, Bryce grabbed her arm. "We're not officially divorced yet, and you're still my wife legally. You have to tell me your identity!"
"I can't tell you!" Rossie said, her eyes red.
"Mr. Johansen, you keep talking about responsibility, but don't you find it funny? Have you ever fulfilled your obligations as a husband during our three years of marriage? Why should I obey you in the name of being your wife? "
" Rose Winter, don't think I don't have other ways to deal with you!" Bryce pulled her into his arms, and their breaths mingled.
He wasn't someone who got angry easily, but since Rossie left, he had been feeling himself losing his patience.
"If you're so capable, why don't you just find out about me?" Rossie immediately broke free and left Bryce without looking back.
"Stubborn woman! I don't know what Grandma likes about you!" Bryce grumbled.
"Mr. Johansen, Miss Jones says she sprained her ankle, and she's crying for you," Steven ran over, panting.
Suddenly, they heard the roar of an engine.
"It's Miss Winter!"
Bryce saw his ex-wife arrogantly driving past him in a sports car. It was a limited edition Bugatti.
"It turns out Miss Rossie was hiding her wealth!" Steven was shocked.
Bryce's gaze deepened, and he clenched his fists.
"Chase her!"
Rossie held the steering wheel with one hand, looking very cool. She sped down the road while listening to her favorite song.
She wasn't afraid of Bryce finding out her identity. It's just that she couldn't understand why Bryce had ignored her existence for three years, then suddenly became curious about her after their marriage ended.
Sure enough, men were jerks. When given love and attention, they would feel disgusted. On the contrary, they would take the initiative to approach after being abandoned and treated like trash.
Rossie accidentally glanced at the rearview mirror and frowned. Not far behind, Bryce was chasing her in his Lamborghini.
"You want to chase me, huh? Huh! Dream on." Rossie smiled cynically and stepped on the gas pedal. The Bugatti sped off to the left like lightning before disappearing in an instant.
"Hurry! Follow him closely." Bryce was in the passenger seat and urged.
Steven had never driven that fast before, and his heart was pounding. Finally, they caught up to Rossie's car. Bryce looked indifferent, but he felt secretly relieved.
"I didn't expect Mrs. Rossie to be so talented. I thought she was a weak woman who couldn't take care of herself."
It wasn't just Steven who felt that way; Bryce also thought that he had been deceived by her.
"Oh no! Mrs. Rossie is speeding up!"
"Follow her! Your salary will be cut if you can't catch up with her." Bryce gritted his teeth, his handsome face like a statue.
Steven certainly didn't want his salary cut, but he was also afraid that they might die.
Finally, Rossie performed two perfect drifts, and they couldn't even see her car's rear lights anymore.
"I... I lost her..." Steven looked disappointed.
Bryce punched the car window with his fist, his forehead bulging with veins.
"Rose Winter, how long are you going to keep hiding from me? Who are you really?" thought Bryce.
That night... Dominic and Marcus were preparing a BBQ on the back porch, while Rossie sat playing games on her phone.
"Rossie, the BBQ will be ready soon, you'd better come inside, the smoke might make you cough!" Dominic ordered gently.
Rossie was shocked, and tears welled up in her eyes. She didn't dare tell her three older brothers that she had been the cook for the Johansen family for three years, even though the smoke made her eyes water and caused her to cough. She endured three years of smoke and oil while her hands became rough from doing other household chores. Slowly, she became immune to the smoke.
Rossie wanted to tell them, but she was afraid her three brothers would kill Bryce if she told them about this. Especially Marcus, he was the most temperamental of the three.
Now she was back to her peaceful life. She would never allow herself to be so low for a man she could never have.
Suddenly, Dominic's cell phone rang. He quickly wiped his hands and took the phone from his apron pocket. Then, he looked at Rossie with an indescribable look.
"Your ex-husband called me again."
"Damn! Is he addicted to calling you?" Rossie's face turned red with anger.
"What do you mean? Dominic, has that guy called you?" Marcus sat next to his sister, looking angry.
"Don't tell me that guy thinks you're Rossie's boyfriend after you met at the Florist Festival?"
"He does think that."
Marcus cursed, "What the hell!"
Dominic just shrugged.
"Should I answer?" asked Dominic.
"No!" replied Marcus.
"Answer it!" exclaimed Rossie.
Dominic obeyed Rossie and turned on the loudspeaker.
"I'm looking for my wife," exclaimed Bryce in a possessive tone.
Marcus clenched his fists in anger.
"Mr. Johansen, Rossie is no longer your wife. You two are divorced," Dominic reminded him politely.
"She knows she's still my wife." Bryce's tone was cold.
"Bryce Johansen! You threatened me and chased my car. What do you want?" Rossie asked irritably.
"I have something to tell you in private."
"Say it. I'm busy," Rossie said coldly.
"Why did you change your phone number?" Bryce's tone was still cold.
"I want to start fresh and break ties with the past."
"Grandma needs to contact you in the future. Give me your new number so it's easier for us to contact you. "From the way he spoke, it was as if it were his obligation to give her his number.
" Just call Dominic Cavendish! "Rossie smiled cynically.
" Rose Winter, is this your way of getting revenge? "Bryce said in a high tone.
" You're living with Dominic Cavendish after leaving me, aren't you?"
"Bryce Johansen!" Rossie was angry and clenched her fists.
"Don't you think you're being too naive using that method to get revenge? Do you think I really care who you're with?" Bryce laughed before
continuing, "I don't want Grandma to be disappointed in you. I hope she doesn't find out that the person she loves is so immoral. Even if you don't care about your self-respect, at least act politely at Grandma's birthday party, and don't let those rumors reach her ears."
Rossie was so angry that she ended the call.
"Bryce Johansen, how could you treat me like this… It turns out that the love I've had for you for the past 10 years was a mistake…"
