Chapter 65 Damn Dress
MIA
His dead serious eyes are on me, commanding me with rage.
"The fucking priest is waiting"
No he can't be serious.
Please tell me he is not serious.
"You fucking deaf?!"
I flinched slightly, opening my mouth to speak but...
He grabbed my left hand instantly, catching me off guard as terrifying shivers ran down my weak spine.
"What the fuck is this?" he snarled, staring between me and the ring Axel gave to me.
I rested my brimming eyes on it and then at him as he clenched his jaw.
"What in the steel shit is this, shawty?" he snarled, squeezing my wrist tighter.
A tear rolled down my face as I held down a whimper caused by the pain from his tight grip.
"You call this a fucking ring?" He snarled.
My heart tightened.
I might be at his mercy right now but the fact that Axel had me fooled with the ring is another pain.
Why do I still even have it on?
Big Kai grabbed me closer by my wrist, making me whimper as our faces were glued to each other.
My heart pounded continuously as I shuddered.
Big Kai's strength is out of this world. He scares the living daylight out of me.
Being this close makes me want to scream but if I do I might get into more trouble.
The priest can't even help me. He is just standing there!
"Even my lowest staff doesn't wear rings like this. How fucking dumb are you?" He snarled, glaring at me.
I lowered my gaze as regret and Shane filled me.
I know I am stupid.
I guess I am the only stupid person on this planet.
He took off the ring and threw it away nonchalantly.
He took out the diamond ring from the box, making my heart sink as he fixed it on the same finger.
He held my other hand, making me look at him.
"Now, let's get on with this shit."
My heart skipped a beat the minute he attempted to walk towards the altar while dragging me along.
"Wa...wait..."
He stopped, throwing me a daring look.
My heart begged to explode, my weak legs, palms, head, and my entire body! All are in turmoil, trying hard to see what he is trying to do.
Get married?
To him?
Why would he....
"Why are you wasting my fucking time?" He snarled.
"I...I...I don't wan...."
He gripped my neck instantly, catching me off guard as I felt my death.
"The hell you tryna say to me, girl?"
I shuddered, feeling more tears approaching my eyes.
Oh God.
"You don't want what?"
I struggled with words as I stared at his daring eyes.
God, he isn't giving any room for a no.
He is beyond dead serious.
What am I going to do?
I can't marry him.
I really can't.
I don't want to!
He can punish me in some other way. But not this way.
Please.
"What you tryna say to me?!" He yelled.
I flinched. "I...I meant I don't want to get married without...." I paused.
He narrowed his eyes at me.
I lowered my gaze momentarily, trying to catch enough breath to speak.
"Without my parents," I completed, looking at him nervously.
He scoffed. "Parents?"
"M...my mother and little sister."
He kept staring at me.
"I can't....I can't get married without them. They...they were at the villa as well when you....when you took me." I said, lowering my gaze as the guilt from lying added to the hell I am feeling right now.
Please, God, make him buy it.
He released my neck, making me look at him momentarily as his hands moved to my arms gently.
He bought that?
He caressed my arms, heaved a sigh, and leaned closer to my face.
My heart pounded as always like it does whenever he comes unbelievably close.
I fought the urge to tilt my body back as I stared at him nervously.
"You think I'm stupid, white girl?"
I froze.
"You think I'm dumb like your dumb ass?"
I swallowed.
"Say shit one more time," he dared.
I held his gaze nervously but lowered my eyes as tears filled them again.
He dragged me along, heading close to the altar.
I felt the need to cry my eyes out as we got to the priest.
"We here," Big Kai said to the priest who nodded slightly.
"Welcome, Big Kai," the priest said with a tiny smile as his eyes moved to me.
He is a tall young priest who looks like he could be around Big Kai's age. I don't know his age.
I can't tell.
I wish he could help me stop this.
He even looks nervous as I am.
Like he is scared if Big Kai too.
God, there is no way out of this.
"Let's get this thing over with," Big Kai said, turned, and faced me.
I looked at him.
His eyes are on me.
My tears begged to flow as I lowered my gaze.
The priest cleared his throat.
"What's your name, Ms?" he asked.
I looked at him, about to speak but.....
"Nigga, what you need her name for?" Big Kai chipped in.
"Well um, I need to know her name so you can start the vows," the priest said.
Big Kai moved his eyes to me.
"Tell 'em your name," he ordered.
"Mi....Mia Jefferson," I stuttered.
The priest nodded slightly. "Alright, let's begin."
My heart pounded harder.
"Today, we want to join these two,"
My breathing is becoming unbearable.
"Mr Nathaniel Big Kai Kincaid and Ms...."
"Ple....please....I...I want my family to be present when I do this," I managed to say, making my heart add to its rate increase.
Big Kai scowled at me.
"Please. I need them here." I almost sobbed.
He kept scowling at me.
God, please make him understand.
"Father," he called without looking away from me.
"Yes?"
"Get on with the vows."
My heart tightened.
"I haven't gotten all day." He added.
I lowered my gaze, letting more tears flow.
"What you waiting on?!" Big Kai yelled.
"I apologize, Big Kai. Please lower your voice. It's the house of our Lord," the priest said very calmly. It almost sounded like he was begging for his life.
"Then do this shii so we can freaking leave," Big Kai ordered.
He is relentless!
Why is he doing this?!
What is wrong with him?!
"I understand, sir, but don't you think it is best you invite her family and yours as well?"
I looked at the priest as my heart felt a tiny relief.
He is staring at Big Kai nervously.
"The hell did you just say to me?"
"I mean....What I am trying to say is, you both need witnesses. Look, the church is empty," the priest motioned at the church, making Big Kai look at the church.
Keep telling him please. Make him understand.
Please!
"Both families should be here. Even the people of Bricktown. I am sure they would love to witness their guardian get married. It will be more than anything for them."
I looked at Big Kai.
His gaze is down like he is trying to make a decision.
"Think about it, sir. The entire Bricktown will love it so much. Just like they were present the day after Lil Kai was born....."
"Hey!" Big Kai blurted, earning a flinch from me and the priest as well.
He is glaring at the priest.
"Never say that name around me," he ordered.
I furrowed my brows at him.
The priest nodded. "I apologize."
Big Kai is still glaring at him.
The priest let out a sigh to calm his nerves.
"I just think it will be a good idea to invite both families and Bricktown. We all would love to witness you get married. You are important to the hood."
I moved my eyes to Big Kai.
He moved his eyes to me.
I lowered my gaze, begging internally that he agree with that priest.
I really can't marry him.
No.
I can't marry someone as violent as him.
He terrifies me.
"Fine." Big Kai broke the silence, making me look at him.
His eyes are on me.
Fine? As in....he agrees?
He moved his eyes to the priest.
"I'll be back in a week."
I swallowed.
"Good choice, sir."
A week?
Big Kai grabbed my hand and we headed for the entrance door.
I felt my pounding heart calming down as we walked.
I looked at him.
His focus is on the entrance.
Where are we going now?
His house? Back to his mansion?
We got out of the door and we descended the stairs. We got to his car and he let my hand go.
"Get into the car," he ordered as his car beeped.
I walked around the car slowly while he opened the driver's seat.
"Hurry the fuck up!"
I flinched, hastening my steps. I got into the car and so did he.
I stared at my fingers as he was about to start the car but....
"Take off that shit,"
I looked at him.
He is looking at me.
"Wha....."
"Take off the damn dress, Shawty. The fuck happened to your goddamn ears?"
What does he mean take off my dress? Why?
He took out his gun, making my heart sink.
