Chapter 14 Messy Puzzle
BIG KAI
I watched as she stared at the door and the knock came again.
I moved my mouse, leading the control panel to the option bar.
The door of the room appeared on the screen.
Imani's favorite maid, Naomi or whatever the fuck she is called, stood at the door with a tray in her hands that had a covered plate and a full glass of water, waiting for the door to open. Her bandaged arm is always or reminder whenever I look at her.
The bitch never ceases to be suspicious.
The door opened and I returned to the room. The white girl looks a bit surprised to see Naomi.
She was expecting the white maid.
I increased the volume of the room, bringing up their voices.
"Hi, I am Naomi. I brought you your meal. Sorry, Coco got caught up with something but here."
Thanks to the spot where the CCTV is, I can only see around the room but the door is a bit hidden.
No one knows that but me.
"Thank you," the white girl said and I heard the door close.
I watched as she walked towards the bed with the tray. She placed the tray on the bed and sat next to it.
She picked up the glass and gulped every single drop.
I scoffed.
All them water wasn't enough for this shawty.
I leaned on my seat, staring as she opened the meal.
Her shoulders fell at the sight of the meal, disappointment drawing on her white face.
I moved the mouse, zooming the meal and I recognized it instantly.
Pasta and meatballs.
She covered the plate slowly and dropped her face on her palms again.
The fuck this bitch is facepalming for?
She doesn't like the meal?
She ran her fingers through her hair and rested her elbows on her lap.
Is she gonna cry again?
I moved the mouse slowly, increasing the volume again.
I heard sobs and sniffles, making me scoff.
The fuck is this white shawty?
You Lil Kai now?
How did she cope with him though?
I scoffed, shaking my head.
You better eat that shit, bitch.
You don't reject food in my house.
I exited her room and clicked Isadora's room.
The ho is asleep, lying on her back, her legs and arms spread like she is waiting to get somethin'
It has been weeks since she started acting funny.
Doctors still haven't figured out what is wrong with her.
She just decided to go nuts in just one fucking night.
Lil Kai is back.
Unlike her fucking senses.
Even though Imani told me about Isadora's drug addiction, something tells me her mental state is connected to Lil Kai's disappearance.
It's a fucked up puzzle.
I'm about to find out the fucking solution.
In the meantime, this ho can't come near Lil Kai.
She has to be cured first.
Bitch uses her nails on my men whenever they try to hold her still to be diagnosed.
She almost bit Tyrell once.
I can't afford her biting my kid.
She had to get well first.
I moved back to the white girl's room.
She is leaning on the headboard, her hands folded and staring at her meal.
She is not eating it.
I scoffed.
A knock came on my door, making me lift my eyes towards the door.
Caleb walked in, adjusting his suit and looking professional as always.
Dude's the male version of my sister.
"Boss,"
I raised my brows at him.
"Malcolm is ready with his album."
I scoffed. "Malcolm,"
"Yes, boss,"
"You tell him I don't want to listen to shit?" I said, returning my gaze to the screen.
This white bitch is still be stalling.
"I did, boss. He assured me this some type of smooth bars."
I looked at him.
He nodded.
"Bars ain't smooth till I listen to it,"
He nodded. "I told him that."
"And?"
"He still stands on the fact that it is ready."
I scoffed. "You know I don't fuck with my time, Caleb."
"Affirmative, boss,"
"If it plays with my time, I will ruin his music career before it can even start."
He stared at me.
"I don't sponsor craps. Them Lil Crest and Carlos are living witnesses. Fellas be making billions of em dollar bills now. You know why?"
"Yes, boss,"
"School me," I urged.
"They worked hard and didn't feed you crap,"
"Exactly. School the nigga," I said, returning my gaze to the screen.
"Yes boss," he said, turning to leave.
"One more thing," I said without looking at him.
"Yes, boss?"
"Get them maid to send our new addition a different meal," I said, staring at the white girl who seemed to be swimming in thoughts.
"And a glass of water," I added.
"Yes, boss," Caleb said, walking out of my office.
I reached for my glass of brandy and took a sip.
"You lucky my son is fond of you. No bitch waste food under my fucking roof." I sipped my drink again, staring at her.
MINUTES LATER......
ALONG THE HALLWAY......
Walking along the hallway with one of my hands in my pocket and the other used to operate my phone.
I clicked the video of the white girl's room and I saw her licking the plate of the last meal sent to her.
I scoffed.
That meal was brought in barely three minutes ago and now......
Bitch about to swallow my fucking plate.
I let out a scoff.
Seriously, Lil Kai, you like weird women.
The first meal was a no.
Now, the second meal wasn't a 'yes' enough.
She put down the plate and let out a breath.
I switched off my phone and put it into my pocket as I faced my way, heading to my room for the night.
I walked past some doors quietly till....
"What do you mean you couldn't do it? What are you? A fucking saint?"
I stopped in my tracks the minute I heard Imani's familiar voice.
I looked to my left and I saw her standing close to the balcony of a corner. She has her phone glued to her ear with her hand and she looks and sounds very invested in the fucking conversation.
"You had one fucking job. You fucking ruined it, you fucking cunt."
I raised my brows.
Who got this fierce sister of mine upset?
"You are going to return every single dime I sent to you, you hear me?"
I put my other hand into my pocket as I took slow and quiet steps towards her.
"I don't fuckin care. I don't."
Why is she whispering though?
"You are going to pay me back every fucking dime. Do you even realize what you have done? I gave you a tiny task. A fucking tiny task. You are so fucking worthless. If I don't get my money back by tomorrow, you and your family will be donating all the blood in your veins to a fucking paint industry."
Damn.
"I fucking mean it," she hung up, groaning afterwards.
"Shit,"
She flinched, looking at me with wide eyes.
I furrowed my brows.
She placed her hand on her chest, letting out a breath.
"Fuck, Kai. You....you startled me."
I hummed, moving closer to the balcony and staring at my compound view.
The different types of lights added to the beauty.
"H....how long have you been standing there for?"
"Why are you stuttering?" I asked, looking at her.
She stared at me, looking dumbfounded.
I moved my gaze to the view.
"Is it the employees at the company?" I asked.
"What?"
"Who were you threatening?" I asked without looking at her.
"Oh....." she cleared her throat. "Yes, one of our employees. Those incompetent fools. They never do anything right."
I looked at her.
She is staring at the view, frowning and folding her hands as the refreshing wind blew her clothes and mine.
"I have to do everything myself," she added, letting out a sigh.
"I love seeing this part of you,"
She looked at me.
"It reminds me of what blood you are. A Kincaid blood."
She scoffed. "Kai, please."
"Too bad you chose to be this uptight professional," I said, facing the view.
"I need to be that to run your legal businesses. Nathaniel Kincaid needs Imani as much as Big Kai does."
I scoffed. "I hate that name."
"Well, it is you. And our selling point. Soon it will get rid of Big Kai."
"Big Kai is here to stay, lil sis. You finna learn how to live with it."
She scoffed.
"We from the hood, sis. Legal businesses or not, home is home."
"Not for this Imani Kincaid."
I chuckled. "I'mma go to bed now. You chill and do the same." I said, turning to leave.
"About that white girl, Kai. You...."
"Decision is final, Imani," I said, walking away. "Get your fierce self to bed," I added, heading to my room.
NEXT DAY....
I took a draw from my big brown cigar and let out smoke through my mouth and nostrils as I stared at my phone screen.
I scrolled up, staring at the news and reading the latest headlines.
One thing a fresh morning deserves is a view of what is happening in the fucking world.
Finna know if things like the pandemic be roaming again.
I am currently seated in the first seat of my dining table. Caleb, Imani, and Tyrell are seated on both sides of the table, eating their meal.
I haven't even touched mine.
I am too invested in some headlines. One of em is about a dude eaten by fucking lions.
How interesting.
The smell of toast, eggs, and pancakes was enough to get me out of these headlines.
I reached for my coffee without withdrawing my gaze from my phone and took a sip.
A familiar tiny voice filled the atmosphere.
