CHAPTER SIX

AS the days went by, there were changes observed in Joshua and Kylie's relationship as master and butler. Even if they were enemies when they first met, that relationship took another level and it became a sibling-like relationship. They would still banter back and forth, but it was already toned down. Elisha's dance lessons helped a lot and Don Emilio could now see his son in a brand new light.

However, even though the result of what they were doing was good, Joshua felt something else. He felt like Kyle was using magic on him. It seems like his butler's gentle face drew him closer whenever he was staring at her.

"And one, two, three. One, two, three." Elisha counted as they danced.

"Ouch!" Kyle immediately complained once, glaring at the young man.

Joshua stopped immediately because he stepped on Kylie's foot again. He just looked at his butler who was preparing to beat him anytime.

"Sorry." he said softly to Kylie.

Kylie just stared at the young man. There was a look of astonishment on her face . It was obvious to her that she was not used to hearing the word 'sorry' from the young man in front of her . It was the first time she could see that he was not hotheaded.

"What ?!" Joshua asked him.

"I'm not used to you saying sorry." Kylie replied. "It makes me awkward as I know you and your bratty personality."

“Let’s just say that your boss is really nice,” Joshua said.

"Nice my ass," Kylie replied angrily. "Don't deceive me, Young Master."

Joshua was not able to answerher because their instructor had already mediated between the two of them.

"Gentlemen, I do know you still want to talk but I just want to remind you that time is running," Elisha said immediately. "Let's get back to work."

Joshua pulled Kylie before he even put his hand on her waist. The doubt on his face was obvious again because even though he knew Kyle was a man he was still confused. His body was too soft for a man. He was just surprised when the 'young man' held his hand.

"Put your hand on the right place." said Kyle to him. "I will not hesitate in breaking your hands if they wander around.”

Joshua did not obey and still put his hand in the place where he should not have placed. He immediately received a kick from his butler. He was overwhelmed because Kyle accidentally hit his most beloved family jewel. He thought Kyle was too sensitive in that area.

"Aunt Elisha, let's practice again later," Joshua said immediately who was obviously writhing in pain at that moment. "I'm tired," he would excuse himself.

"Sure thing," Elisha replied. "I know that it really hurts right now."

Joshua left immediately and Kylie was alone with the woman. She was surprised when Elisha suddenly approached her.

"I know your secret." whispered Elisha to her.

"What do you mean?" Kylie asked the lady in astonishment.

"Will you still deny the fact you're a woman, Kyle?" Elisha asked in a teasing tone.

Kylie could not speak right away at that time. There was no way in hell that the lady would just lightly reveal her secret. She noticed Elisha's grin.

"I know you because like you I was also an assassin back then so I know how to check what is real and what is fake." Elisha immediately told her. "And at a glance I already know there's a woman in front of me."

"Does it matter if I'm really a woman?" Kylie asked immediately. “It does not interfere with my work as a butler."

"Nothing. I just find it amusing that you're pretending to be a man to your boss." Elisha answered. "Doesn't Emilio notice that you're a woman?"

"I don't think he cares about my true identity." Said Kylie. "The only thing that matters to him is that I discipline his son Joshua."

"Didn't you notice any change in Joshua?" Elisha asked immediately. “In his actions?"

"Nothing, why?" Kylie asked.

"Nothing."

"Elisha ---"

"You should make a decision before he knows your secret." Elisha said in a warning tone.

JOSHUA was just WALKING down the hall. He tried to get Kylie's face out of his mind.

"Come on, man Joshua." The annoyance Joshua says to himself. "There's no way in fucking hell that someone like him will look at you in a cute way."

His cheeks warmed up when he remembered he accidentally stared at Kyle's lips. He thought her lips were soft that it would feel like a delicious kiss. He liked it when Kyle curled his lips into a sexy smirk that he only recently noticed. He just slapped himself out of nowhere.

"What is wrong with you Joshua? Don't be stupid because you know Kyle is a man." Said Joshua. "He is not a woman. It's just a coincidence that he looks feminine because of the genes he has. That's pretty normal, right?"

He was just surprised when he suddenly heard the voice of his butler, "What are you doing there? Lady Elisha has been looking for you ah."

Joshua just closed his eyes when he saw Kylie's lips again as if she was flirting. Kylie was annoyed because she didn't get an answer from the young man. He punched the young man hard on his face.

"Are you looking for some trouble again?" pissed Joshua asked obviously hurt by the punch his butler had given to him.

"I don't have a problem, it is a wakeup call." Kylie said "I thought you are asleep."

"Ahh ...."

"Hurry up and we still have a lot to do today," Kylie said to the young man. "Lady Elisha will not send us home if you have not mastered the steps that have been taught to you for a few days."

THE days passed quickly and the two were unaware that the formal party Joshua was going to was going to be near. Don Emilio just smiled as he thought about how Kylie would react to his order.

"Dad, I don't know why but I'm terrified of your smile now," Joshua said bluntly when he saw the old man smiling. "Looks like you're planning something I don't like."

"Is it bad that I smile because I'm just happy with what I'm thinking?" Don Emilio asked.

"It's not like that but your smile is a bit weird." Joshua replied.

Don Emilio just smiled again, "You will know when the day of the formal party you are going to arrives."

Joshua's forehead furrowed at what he heard. He could not predict what Don Emilio wanted to convey to him.

"Well, if you don't need me at all you can leave. I just want to talk to Kyle right now." Don Emilio dismissed the young man.

Confused, Joshua left. He was sure that he was once again the topic of his father and his accomplice Kyle. He did not even admit that he was feeling jealous at that time. He didn't know who or what he was jealous of. As usual, he was rude again when he came out of his father's study room.

"Hey, Dad called you. Looks like he's going to do ask something to you again." Joshua immediately called his butler. "Just make sure you will not agree with everything."

Although Kylie was confused by what Joshua told her, she simply ignored it. She entered the study room to converse with the old Carriedo.

"You called me, Master." Kylie said to Don Emilio. "Are you going to do something?"

"Actually, I want to talk to you about Joshua. How is he now?" Old Carriedo asked immediately.

"He is fine, his stupidity has diminished." Kylie replied. "Unlike before I just wanted to kick him on his face."

"I see, I'm happy to hear that."

Kylie raised an eyebrow. She was sure that the old man wanted to tell her something but she had not yet guessed what he wanted to. She was surprised when Don Emilio suddenly handed her an invitation.

"What is this for, Don Emilio?" Kylie immediately asked her master.

"As you can see, Joshua needs a dance partner at that party." Said Don Emilio. "And so ..."

"... I will deliver it to the woman you have chosen for her." Kylie replied, assuming that's what the old man would order her.

Don Emilio just chuckled, "Yes, you will deliver that to her but right now I'm facing the woman Joshua needs at the party."

Kylie was nervous. She did not know if Don Emilio was teasing her or if he already knew her true gender. She felt her blood was drained from her face at that time.

"You're pale, are you sick Kyle?" Don Emilio immediately asked when he noticed sudden paleness of the 'young man'.

"Nothing, Master." Kylie replied.

"Well then, take the box in front of you Kyle," Don Emilio ordered. "Open it too so you know what I'm going to ask you to do."

Although Kylie wasn't sure what the old man asked her to do, she still obeyed. She would not let the old man punish her just because she did not obey. She was not yet ready to go back to being an assassin. The astonishment immediately drew on her face when she saw a pair of stilettos inside the box.

"I know what happened recently, my son was hurt because of a prank." Said Don Emilio. "And to prevent that scenario from happening again I decided to let you pretend as a woman."

Kylie did not know if she was going to breathe easily or not because of what the old man was asking her to do. It was easy to be a woman because she was a real woman, pretending to be a man. To pretend as a woman in front of everyone was too much for her. She simply turned her attention to Don Emilio who was still giving orders to her at that time.

"I want you to wear this pair from now on so you can get used to that kind of shoes." Don Emilio said to him.

Kylie grew even paler at that time, "Are you sure about what you're asking, Master?"

"Of course. I'd be more reassured if I know you are with him at that party. And I think you'll be able to walk in those heels too."

"I don't know if I can afford to wear that, the heels are too high for me." said Kylie.

"You can do it, it's normal for a woman to wear that," Don Emilio said, scolding her about the secret she was carrying.

An invisible vein pops out of Kylie's forehead, "Normal my ass." He whispered to herself.

"Go ahead, Kyle. Put that on. I'll just call Joshua to help you." Don Emilio said to the lady.

Kylie sighed deeply on what she heard. She would not be surprised if the commands that Joshua gave her were stupid, it was passed to him. Only now did he realize that he had entered a situation that he could not get out of, especially when Don Emilio was holding her by his neck. She did not know if she would be happy or not with the knowledge that the old Carriedo knew what her true sexuality was.

Well, even though she’s a woman she still has a hard time balancing herself. He did not wear stilettos very much and he only knew how to wear wedges which were usually only an inch high. She never dreamed of wearing stilettos on her missions because that would only hinder her work.

"Damn it! It's fucking painful!" she complained as soon as Joshua supported her. "Don't pull me right away! You are not helping!"

As expected, Joshua laughed heartily as he supported Kylie'. He still couldn't believe the order Don Emilio had given to his butler.

"All right, laugh all you want! I assure you that I can still break your legs!" Kylie immediately threatened the young man. "My foot hurts, oh!"

"Fine, hit me. I'll let you go." Joshua's annoying reply while laughing.

"Because ...."

Joshua did not let Kylie finish her sentence as he dropped her off. As he expected, Kyle immediately stumbled into and fell on the ground. However, he caught Kylie before she even fell. Their position was a bit awkward because Kylie was under him.

Joshua just stared at Kylie's lips at that time. It was as if her lips were pulling at him again. He slowly brought his face closer and he could already smell her breath. He couldn't control himself anymore and he kissed Kyle.
