CHAPTER FOURTEEN

Joshua was shocked when he saw that Alex had changed Kylie's clothes. He swallowed in no time because even though Kylie was still wearing masculine clothes, there was a subtle hint of her feminine side. He averted his gaze when he saw the two ladies were approaching him.

"My man is handsome, isn't he?" Alex immediately asked the young man while clinging to Kylie's arm. "I saw his hidden beauty tonight."

Joshua couldn't answer because he knew Alex was annoying him. He grabbed Kylie from his cousin's side.

"What?! Can't you admit to yourself that someone is really more handsome than you?" Alex asked the innocent question to Joshua.

"I accept that he is more handsome than me, but I just don't want someone else to take his attention." Joshua said. "Also, I don't want to see you clinging to Kyle."

"Are you jealous?" Alex asked the young man. "Kyle doesn't belong to you yet so he has the right to make a choice between us. I mean, he can date us both as you are still not in an official relationship."

"No. Kyle is mine." Joshua said in a defensive tone. "Stay away from him!"

"I won't stay away as long as he's single." Alex said.

"He won't be single anymore because I am his match."

Kylie took a deep breath from what she heard from them. She did not know if the two knew that she was still between them at that time. She exhaled loudly to get their attention from their heated argument.

"Oh why?" Joshua and Alex asked her at the same time.

Kylie did not answer right away and instead looked at her watch.

"If the two of you will only argue for the rest of the night, I'll just go inside and rest." Kylie said to the both of them. "I think you'll just make my head hurt."

"No. No. No. We are going tonight." Alex immediately said to the lady. "You can no longer refuse my invitation."

Before Kylie could speak, Alex pulled her away from Joshua. As expected, she was acting like a leech clinging to her arm.

Joshua's eyes just rolled as he followed the two who were leaving. Even though he was against it, he could not do anything, but go along. He could not stay at home and be at ease as he knew Alex's behavior.

Meanwhile...

Don Emilio was looking outside when Zeke called him, "Okay Sir, I've already booked Kylie a flight to Spain."

"Good. I'll just cancel her flight if Joshua doesn't confess to me tonight." Don Emilio answered in a decisive tone. "But I think she's going to leave next month."

"How sure are you about it? What if Kylie doesn't agree?" Zeke asked the old man in a continuous manner.

"I have my own ways to get someone to do what I want and Kylie is not an exception." Don Emilio said confidently. "She wouldn't be Joshua's butler if I hadn't talked her into it."

"Yeah. Yeah. Whatever." Zeke said sarcastically.

"Just wait for my next instructions, okay?" Don Emilio said in an authoritative tone.

"Yeah sure."

ANNOYANCE was visible on Joshua's face as he watched Kylie. He still did not know what was going through Alex's mind as she thought of changing Kyle's style into a softer one. Even though the music playing in the background was lively, the young man was still frowning. He was not happy because he saw that his cousin Alex was harassing his girl.

Alex paid close attention to his cousin and she almost grinned when she saw Joshua's unhappiness. She was sure that the young man was bored because she snatched Kylie from him.

"Hmmm. Looks like something exciting is going to happen later." Alex whispered to herself.

That statement did not escape the young lady's keen hearing, "Are you saying something?" she immediately asked the lady.

Alex grinned wider before she hugged Kylie, "Nothing. I'm just noticing something that you still haven't noticed."

"Huh?!"

"You will know it in three, two and one"

Before Kylie could even ask about the meaning of her statement, she felt someone pulled her. As she turned around, she saw Joshua's frowning face. She did not even manage to ask the young man because he immediately dragged her away from Alex. Alex just shook her head as she watched them leave.

"I do hope it doesn't end in a fight, Joshua." Alex whispered while watching the two of them.

Meanwhile...

Joshua did not care if Kylie struggled in his hold. The only thing that mattered to him was to keep her away from his cousin, Alex. He only stopped dragging the lady when they reached the car used by the young man.

"What is your problem again?!" Kylie asked Joshua in an annoyed tone.

Joshua did not speak immediately and instead he just took the car key from his pocket.

"Joshua I'm asking you! You must answer my question!" Kylie said in a defiant tone.

As expected, Joshua did not respond to what the lady said. When he made sure the door was open, he picked up the lady and put her inside. He got into the driver's seat as fast as an eagle.

"Let's go home!" Joshua immediately declared to Kylie, which shocked her.

"Wait, we're going to leave Alex?!"

"Leave Alex alone and she can go home alone!" Joshua told her angrily.

"Joshua!"

"Listen to me, Alex is already a grown up and she won't get lost anymore." Joshua said. "We're going home. I can't take this anymore!"

"Huh?!"

"I'm going to tell Dad your true identity so Alex will stop flirting withyou," Joshua said decisively. "I can't even court you properly anymore because she always comes between us."

"Wha---"

"I don't give a fuck if he fires you from your job, at least I know I'm free to date you as Kylie." Joshua said.

Joshua was only surprised when he heard a soft chuckle from Kylie, "Did I say something funny?!" Joshua asked Kylie in a surprised tone.

"Nothing. It's just funny how jealous you are." Kylie said calmly. "You don't even have the right to be jealous because we're not yet in an official relationship."

Joshua stopped the car he was driving on one side. A mischievous smile appeared on his lips even before he faced Kylie.

"So are you saying I have a chance with you?" Joshua immediately asked the lady.

A stoic expression appeared on Kylie's face, "If you deserve that chance, then why not?"

"What?"

"You're too jealous to understand." Kylie said to the young man.

"Well, I have to protect what is mine." Joshua said. "You are mine already, so it's my responsibility to make sure your attention is only mine."

Kylie shook her head at what she heard. She did not speak anymore because she knew Joshua would break her statement again. Joshua turned his eyes to the road.

As expected, Joshua held Kylie's hand again as they entered the mansion. Even if Don Emilio did not see it directly, he knew it immediately. Why? That is because he had seen that secret act. An interested smile was seen on his face. He could not wait any longer. He needed to confirm Joshua's feelings for Kylie. All he had to do was to act as if he still did not know anything about the impersonation Kylie did.

"What brings you here?" Don Emilio immediately asked the two when they entered his room. "I thought you went out with Alex. "

"We left her because I have something to confess to you." Joshua said immediately.

Don Emilio raised an aristocratic eyebrow, "And what is it young man? Did Kyle rejected your courtship?" he asked in curious tone.

Joshua stroked the back of his neck, "Actually, no. Kyle hasn't answered me yet but I know what I have to say is more important now."

"Then spit it out." Don Emilio ordered his son. .

"Well, how should I say this? Actually, the man with us today is a woman, " Joshua's confessed to the old Carriedo. "Kyle is a lady."

"What do you mean?" Don Emilio asked.

"I don't think you need to explain any more, Young Master. Don Emilio already knows about my gender." Kylie chimed in. "Am I right, Master?"

A playful smile appeared on Don Emilio's lips, "You are absolutely correct, Kylie. I have known about your personality for a long time."

Joshua just stared at what he heard, "What?! How?! You've known for a long time but you didn't even tell me!"

"Unfortunately, I had to hide what I knew from you because I wanted to know something." Don Emilio said. "And thanks to Alex because she did what she had to do."

"You mean she also knows that Kyle is a girl, Kylie?" Joshua immediately asked in a surprised tone.

"Yes. She acted as if she wanted Kylie for herself so that you would be the one to tell me that you love a woman." Don Emilio explained. "She succeeded because she managed to make you jealous."

"Aren't you angry about this thing? I mean...."

"And why should I be angry? You reminded me of how I met your mom before." Don Emilio said. "It's just that you seem slower than I expected."

"Wha---?!"

"You and Kylie have been together every day but you still can't get an answer from her, you aren't a real Carriedo when you are so slow." Don Emilio said to his son.

"Why should I do then? She doesn't want to give the answer yet, " Joshua said in defense.

"It's simple, be a full-blooded Carriedo in mind, word and deed." Don Emilio said.

"Huh?!"

"Pursue Kylie as if there is no tomorrow." Don Emilio said to the young man. "In her own house."

"What do you mean?" Joshua asked his father.

"Just use common sense, Young Master. I'm leaving my job as your butler," said Kylie.

Joshua just smiled when he heard, "Well then, my courting will be easier. I will make you fall for me."
